It's not that the "motor's worn out" the engine obviously has the power, but the automatic transmission is not the ideal transmission for a heavy 4x4. You lose so much in the torque converter. They need to upgrade to a new transmission, or a standard....

The XJ's are highly capable. I'd take a XJ over a CJ any day. CJ's time has passed I really wouldn't want to have any carbureted vehicle out on the stuff I climb.

Dude I just gotta say that XJ is pretty cool. Its hangin with the big boys on this one. Can't that in every case but NICE JOB! Good driver too. Those wranglers are a little over built for this hill. Overkill = fun though.

There is only about a 1000lb weight difference between the SJ and the XJ. Not really a fair comparison. Cool video though. SJ needs a rear locker.
