Norman Mineta's testimony suggests that Dick Cheney was giving orders:either to shoot down the plane or to stand down and since the planes hit their targets one could speculate that there was a stand down order.
@FIOY At the time where the plane was 10 miles away, neither a stand down nor a shoot down order would have made sense, because at that point there was no more chance for the fighters to be there in time anyway. So it must have been a different order. Maybe the order was not to warn anybody, because it's strange that Cheney knew about the approaching plane and yet there was no alarm in the Pentagon - 125 of the Pentagon staff dead.

No one knew where the planes were at that time. The actual flight they were responding to was Flt 93, which crashed in PA. The plane that hit the Pentagon, Flt 77, was not even located until minutes before it hit the Pentagon, when the Dulles tower spotted it.
No one knew the Pentagon was the target until afterward, obviously. Most people would assume the White House or Capitol was the primary target.

The repeated questioning of Cheney by a junior officer whether "the orders still stand" was about whether the order NOT to destroy them still stood. Given 2 prior attacks against the towers using the commercial airliners as weapons, an order to destroy any plane approaching the Pentagon would be the ONLY order to give and would not be subject to question by a junior officer as the plane approached.

You can here audio of police radio on 9/11 of them arresting two individuals driving a truck with explosives. These two men were sent back to Israel. What is it? A blow torch used on steel? First of all, the steel columns were coated with fire resistant material. Second of all, the explosion only lasted a second. That's not enough time for jet fuel, which burns at under 1000 degrees, to melt steel who's melting point is above 2000. Steel doesn't even soften till around 1800 degrees.
And you still haven't explained why pools of molten steel were found on ground zero, and beads of steel are found in the dust.
Most importantly, and most obviously, buildings don't fall straight down unless they are being demolished. If the official 9/11 story was true (which many of the authors of the official story admit they were given sufficient evidence,) this is the first case ever of a Steel building collapsing due to fire. And this happened, extraordinarily, three times on the same day! Coincidence? That's how you deal with your cognitive reflex huh? Every thing is just a coincidence.

- there are two sets of planes....the ones with real people on are being hijacked, led out to sea and then destroyed. Next there are remote controlled planes on a computer programmed course to hit their targets in NY. Then there is the guided missiles that do the damage on the Pentagon and fly over Shanksville.

@bifimi You are correct, this is not evidence, just speculation. Doesn't change the fact that 9/11 was an inside job and that the buildings were brought down by controlled demolition. Norman Mineta's testimony suggests that Dick Cheney was giving orders:either to shoot down the plane or to stand down and since the planes hit their targets one could speculate that there was a stand down order.

@FIOY At the time where the plane was 10 miles away, neither a stand down nor a shoot down order would have made sense, because at that point there was no more chance for the fighters to be there in time anyway. So it must have been a different order. Maybe the order was not to warn anybody, because it's strange that Cheney knew about the approaching plane and yet there was no alarm in the Pentagon - 125 of the Pentagon staff dead.

No one knew where the planes were at that time. The actual flight they were responding to was Flt 93, which crashed in PA. The plane that hit the Pentagon, Flt 77, was not even located until minutes before it hit the Pentagon, when the Dulles tower spotted it.
No one knew the Pentagon was the target until afterward, obviously. Most people would assume the White House or Capitol was the primary target.

The repeated questioning of Cheney by a junior officer whether "the orders still stand" was about whether the order NOT to destroy them still stood. Given 2 prior attacks against the towers using the commercial airliners as weapons, an order to destroy any plane approaching the Pentagon would be the ONLY order to give and would not be subject to question by a junior officer as the plane approached.

You can here audio of police radio on 9/11 of them arresting two individuals driving a truck with explosives. These two men were sent back to Israel. What is it? A blow torch used on steel? First of all, the steel columns were coated with fire resistant material. Second of all, the explosion only lasted a second. That's not enough time for jet fuel, which burns at under 1000 degrees, to melt steel who's melting point is above 2000. Steel doesn't even soften till around 1800 degrees.
And you still haven't explained why pools of molten steel were found on ground zero, and beads of steel are found in the dust.

If the official 9/11 story was true (which many of the authors of the official story admit they were given sufficient evidence,) this is the first case ever of a Steel building collapsing due to fire. Actually the info on Cheney telling NORAD to standown came right from the pentagon, MInetta told the 9/11 commision that Cheney told the airforce not to intercept the plane that hit the pentagon, 90 minutes after the 2 planes hit the towers in NY. No planes were scrambled to protect the capital washingon DC until after the pentagon was hit. Dick Cheney and Bush are traitors, they turned a trillion dollar airforce into an idle fleet of grounded planes and pilots on 911. Treason.

Look to the related videos, "minetta tells 9/11 comminsion cheney knew", he is referring to the plane that hit the pentagon, 50 miles out, 30 miles out 10 miles out, and then cheney allowed the hijaked plane to hit the pentagon. if cheney told the airforce to shoot down the commercial plane that hit the pentagon, then why did the plane hit the pentagon? no shots were fired. They knew the hijaked plane was approaching from 50 miles out. In 2001 the USAF had planes that could reach Washington DC at supersonic speeds, from anywhere in the USA, however the fighter planes and pilots sitting on the ground in bases around DC were not in the air with the hijaked commercial jets like they should have been.

There is an airbase in Washington DC, why scramble jets from a far away airbase in langley, when you have one nearby? If you think about it, as soon as the towers were hit, there should have been fighters flying around the capitol, this is basic military strategy, protect the capitol. Dick Cheney knew that there was a hijaked plane 50 miles from DC on a flight path that was going to DC he should have had air patrol over the capitol. supersonic fighter aircraft are faster than a commuter jet.

Well, Monday morning quarterbacking is easy isn't it. In 93, there was a terrorist attack on New York, they attacked the towers, and that was it. Nothing more. In 01, the towers were attacked again. As soon as the second hijacking was reported by FAA to NORAD, fighter jets were immediately sent to New York and arrived shortly after the second plane hit. So in Washington, they knew that two planes had been hijacked, and were both accounted for, so why would they put

fighter jets to protect the Capital. Was it a mistake to wait, yes obviously in hindsight, but in a time of peace, they had never experienced a multiple city terrorist attack before. Regardless of what you think, it is hard to prepare for, and predict something that has never happened before. Now if it happens a second time, and the gov't fails to respond again, then you have more to go on. Bottom line is they failed us, were unprepared, doesn't mean they planned it

The USA had been prepared for scenarios just like 911 for years. America has been in a state of emergency since ww2, and has not ever been at a time of peace. In 2001 America had the top airforce in the world, trillions of dollars of supersonic jets with air to air missiles that had like a 15 mile range, and not one shot was fired. After the first 2 planes hit targets in NYC, there should have been jets in the air above washington dc, we were prepared, Dick Cheney didnt let top gun do his job

There is no proof to support what you are talking about. If you have some unique unknown proof, then please provide it, the world would love to know the truth. ( please do not simply provide the Mineta clip that has been misinterpreted by truthers for years, if that is your proof then you have have nothing )

read 'crossing the rubicon' by ruppert, 'the new pearl harbour revisited' by Griffin, and 9/11 Synthetic Terror' by Tarpley for any proof you want, that you won't find on t.v. Of course you'll have a reason,( like you don't like Griffin's hair , or he's a theologian, but you'll probably support Roberts a tour guide) for not reading them ,but will say there is no evidence.Of course there's no evidence - nothing to see here. As it turns out, it was unprecedented as the largest terrorist attack in history. @Glenmead No, he was not in a cave until 9/10/2001. Before 9/11, Bin Laden was opearting out of many, vast, sprawling terrorist camps funded by many tens of millions of dollars.
Bin Laden only went into hiding in the cave RIGHT BEFORE the 9/11 attacks. How did Bin Laden KNOW to go into hiding just before 9/11?

As for Mineta, his testimony PROVES that the order was to shoot down airplanes. Try listening to his ENTIRE clip, not some 10 second sound clip. How you guys keep misrepresenting his testimony is beyond me. He clearly states that the order was to shoot down planes, NOT an order to stand down.

@jeffmay1 You can't have a "stand down" until you have a "STAND UP." Never in the history of the United States before 9/11 was the US military ever authorized to shoot down a US civilian passenger aircraft. So you can't "stand down" from something that was never authorized at any time in the history of the United States before 9/11.

Cheney did not enter the "Center" until 10 AM -- after the Pentagon was hit by the 3rd airplane Flight 77.
The airplane approaching Washington was Flight 93, which it is now clear was targeting the Capitol Bldg (Congress).
The order was TO SHOOT DOWN Flight 93.
There was no stand-down because there was never any stand up.
It has NEVER been within the authority or mission of the US Air Force to shoot down CIVILIAN passenger aircraft.

@JonathonMoseley When you look at the timeline of what happened in the bunker.....It is clear the Mineta heard the same converstation that all others in the room heard..about the aid asking 3 times for permission to shoot down the plane...the guy said it was such an important order he didnt want there to be any confusion....ANy one who has studied the events in the bunker knows it is totally clear what happened..Mineta heard the shootdown order given....and look at Minetas timeline.its wrong
