  • awesome

  • I don't get it. Apart from the lines about Constant Waiting, all the lyrics are pretty much straight from Leadbelly's version of 'Midnight Special'. Not really a Jeffrey Lee song.

  • @GideonKSays In the finest blues tradition, Jeffrey Lee re-worked old lyrics into new forms. Half of Dylan's early catalogue is pretty much the same thing. Each artist makes the song their own through their unique interpretation. Nothing new under the sun ;)

  • thanks Heavenfunkfish69 ;)

  • if i understand well, Jeffrey Lee Pierce hasn't recorded his own version ?

  • @NotStraightCat JLP had recorded a very rough demo of this, as well as the rest of the songs found on "We Are Only Riders". This is the first time these songs are completed with proper orchestration.

  • it's not the same lineup as waiting on a train. that's me playing banjo and mandolin on that track.

  • @jeffzentner From the mouth of the horse itself then :)

  • Spectacular!!

  • masterpiece!

  • damn,no one else has commented on this?

  • sorry to keep botherin yas but thatsgot to be the same line up aswaitin on a train, please no smartass replys im really just talkin to the cat who uploaded this

  • Entirely different lineup.

But Lanegan always makes his band go for a certain sound so it's easy to get mixed up.

  • cool man,thanx

  • ok i have to get this out, peirce probably had this in mind n i might come off like captain obvious here but the creedance song has these words "youre marching to the table,u see the same old thing-if youre ever in huston, boy u better do right u better not gamble and u better not fight, first the sherriff ll frab ya,and the boys ll take u down, next thing u know, boy youre prison bound"either way its awesome,he probably did it on purpose, rip j.l.p,obviously im a mark fan(look at my name)thankx man

  • JLP often used traditional/folk song lyrics so I wouldn't be surprised if Constant Waiting is pretty much a reworking of a folk standard.

  • thats awsome

  • one of the few lanegan songs i havent heard, are there subtle references to "the midnight special" in there?

  • I was looking for this song, and thanks for the lyrics!

  • Check the description box for the lyrics, Jack.

  • thanks a lot!!! i didn't see before...

  • where i could get the lyrics of this song?

  • love it!!

  • thanks for making a hard week worth it, cheers to you for this
