After lots of money thrown around in this hobby, I found that no giant fish can beat the beauty of a ton of small colorful fish in a nice planted aquarium. plus big fish poop too much :\
nice tank dude by the way I got a aqua clear 20 in my 10 gallon freshwater fish and it has 4 tetra fish they are cardinal tetras and neon tetras if I buy 10 neon tetras on weekends the aqua clear 20 will be fine for them? I got 10 neon tetras before and now they just died when I am using aqua clear 20 in a 10 gallon tank can u tell me what is the problems thanks?
@MrTvshowuploader4 neon tetras have been requested by public demand for a very long time. since breeders breed them so much they've become harder to keep and less hardy, so keeping them can be difficult at first since they can die from sudden temperature changes and stress also affects them. even tiny amounts of stress can scare and hurt them
@Link4681 does ick causes neon tetras to die really quick as well? I add super cure ick remover and I add like 7 goldfishies in my tank and I have not lost any of them? the product really works next time I will add more kinds of fish in my tank?
Great tank! Arowana's prefer larger foods, it may have a try at the neons, but they are pretty safe in that tank, though, the neons may die of fright or anxiety.
I wish neon's weren't like a buck or two or even three a piece.. I wanna add some colour into my 25 and some neon's/cardinals I think would look awesome.. in groups of like 30, 40+.. Just gets to damn expensive..
Nice tank! I love the layout but poor stock. The tetras look terrified because of the arowana. You can put loads of neons in this tank than wasting all the space for an arowana that doesn't suit in this kind of environment. But seriously, i love the tank!
i agree, it is to big to bother with the neons, so many of them too, they r to fast and have to good hiding places even if it did try to get em. nice tank.... '=]
@joel5673ify Haha arrowana's eat mice and anything they can fit in their mouths. In the amazon they grow up to 4 ft long. They are called the monkey fish because they jump out of the water and grab monkeys out of low lying trees.
weird combination. looks like the tank's suited to neon's rather than the arowana when all of a sudden theres a MASSIVE fish at the other end but still. A nice and different setup. The neons obviously have their safety in numbers. Just make sure he's never hungry enough to get brave.
This Arrowana needs a much larger aquarium. Neons hiding in fear. A person can turn around in a closet - does not mean best size for best living. Pacing (read Desmond Morris "Naked Ape" (zoologist) is a sign of stress... See them in a real public aquarium...
The Arowana requires at least a 150 gallon (570 liters) tank to adequately keep them.
.... but it WILL swallow any fish that it thinks will fit into its mouth!
i dont think he will eat them because there to small and it wont realy do any thing to fill him up. thats why he looked like he was waiting for his owner to give him some food.... That was just my opinion.
Wow that's an awesome looking tank. Are those plants real, what are they ?

@MrTvshowuploader4 Ich might not kill them; if treated properly they might survive, but it depends on the fish

Sand with neon tetra?
i thought you could only have sand with saltwater fish?
far as i know neon are fresh water tropical??
If you can is it hard to clean the sand when doing water changes?
kaleluk31 2 years ago
@kaleluk31 nope, it isn't very good for plants, but most cichlid tanks have sand.
alanmaxx 2 years ago
You are right but somtimes over periods of time sand can actualy get swept into the habitat of all fish.
