@CHARA523 because the church wanted Bishop Patterson in..they wanted a change. Bishop Owens was the only bishop that didn't serve until his death. He's outlived Patterson though...I think God did that part on purspose to show us something.

Yes it was. I remember him arriving from the Airport being rushed to the church. I was in the choir and saw him and asking for a piece of peppermint candy!! (lol) And the spirit in the white and gold was one of expectation. We knew that God had great things in store for Bishop Patterson and the Ministry. From what I understand when I call the church and talk to friends and family. A move of God is on Pastor Hawkins and the church. It's still anointed in that place....

I remember being at that service during my freshman year of college at LeMoyne-Owen College. History will record Bishop CD OWens as one of the greatest orators and leaders of our time and in particular the COGIC.
