  • what's the point????

  • why?

  • avergraver more powerful. an excellent tool

  • Happiest screw ever.

  • Very nice. Thank you.

  • Wow, very cool, what is the engraver you use? Dremel? Thanks

  • hey whats that grey stuff? some kind of sealing wax?

  • Incredible steady hand!

  • what kind of tool would you say would be good for starters?

  • cool,I too like to engrave

  • The holder for the screw appears to be hand made. How did you make it? Thanks for the video!

  • @BuickDoc I'm sure it is hand made, did he ever tell you what he used ? Looks like silly putty stuff that gets baked in an oven. Butchndutch

  • My luck, I'd drop it and it would roll under the workbench.

  • All that work for a screw?

  • @1339LARS Of course it's "all that work for a screw".

    Have you ever been married?

  • @impaxNo7 Funny! I have been married for 30 years and that´s more then one screw!!

  • Skilled craftsman make it look simple and easy, but it takes skill, effort, and time. Like any skill it takes a day to learn and a lifetime to master. You sir have mastered the skill, my hat is off to you. I wish I was half as good Sir.

  • good

  • I've been interested in learning how to engrave. Is it an expensive craft to undertake and to get started?

  • You can get into engraving for as little as $200 on up to $2000 depending on the equipment that you want to use. I learned with a hammer and chisel which is the cheaper way to get started but many feel that it's also more difficult to learn to do well.

  • $100 screw

  • @monkeyboy4746 last time i paid that much for a screw i got crabs lol

  • Very nice job, may I suggest a video on the basic tools for the trade?

  • More videos please.

I am now a fan and wanting to learn.

  • Great work, may I ask what metal your engraving tool is made of please and if gold inlaying, would you blue the piece before or after inlaying?Would be nice to know what metal tools to use on which metals to please.

    Thanks

  • Thank you. The graver is high speed steel, on hard parts I will use carbide. For gold inlay, you want to put the gold in first. Bluing and color case hardening don't affect the gold.

  • Thanks for reply.

Could you put a video up of color case hardening please.

You have great skill and I would like to be where you are one day.

  • Etching is done with acids, engraving is done with bruins and chisels.

  • I thought engraving was done with nitric acid. What tool is that your using?

  • Etching is done with acids. I'm using a small chisel called a "graver" to cut the metal. The graver can be power by hand, hammer or a pneumatic system, which I'm using here. A small air driven piston provides the impact force rather than a hammer.

  • Wow, all this work for just 1 screw. No wonder engraving is so expensive.

  • nice job, thanks for posting this, im thinking about doing knives

  • Wow, that's nice and even!
