  • Great Video and Lovely Naan, thanks for sharing :)

  • @Mindrover1

    Thanks. Happy Valentine Day :)

  • Just a quick bakers tip, if you move your dough to a lightly oiled bowl to let rise, it's much easier to handle later.

  • @gitargr8

sure will give it a try next time. Thanks so much for sharing :D

  • This looks good.

  • i looooooooooooove it with murgh makhani and daal makhani yummm indian food is awesome :D Shukria sweeite :)

  • that looks gawjus .. do you have any videos on how to make vindaloo fast :) tahnx

  • YOU DIDN'T SIFT THE SALT!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • looks good but why didn;t you say how much water to add?

  • @AbstractMan23 it's probably just until it reaches the desired consistency :)

  • @TheGottchris

Thanks, do give it a try...

  • Awesome. Your naan recipe is the best out of the many I've searched youtube for. Thanks.

  • @exiagundamit

    Thanks so much :D

  • Very Nice! Very "homey" presentation. :)

  • @CryingPoeticSoul

    Thanks :D

  • naan looks so amazing! i cant wait to try it tomorrow, i really appreciate how thorough you are in your demonstration, answered all questions that came to mind

  • @09Weltschmerz

Thanks so much for feedback, do give it a try. You can bake it on oven only if you want to eat it right away, as the naan one baked in oven gets hard after a while. Where as the one cooked on stove top remain soft and fluffy for longer time. Thanks :D

  • @madhura94 no prob! and thank YOU for the wonderful demonstration. I made the naan and it was excellent! It was a big hit with everyone. I made my naans with whole wheat flour and it was amazing, soft and yummy! :)

  • @09Weltschmerz

Thanks so much for feedback. Its definitely a healthy one if prepared with wheat flour and glad that you liked it. Thanks. Have a great day!

  • Hii Madhura..i Loved your recipe..I want to try this recipe today.

But I am confused between baking soda and powder. I just only have baking soda :-( Is it enough ? can i make it w/o baking powder ?? Please reply fast.

    Thanks

  • @Jinaliable

lol I had a same question..well let me know how it goes.

which kind of yogurt u used btw?

  • @sossq1

You need plane yogurt and baking powder is a must as it helps to make naan fluffy...

  • @Jinaliable

Thanks, baking powder is a must as it helps to make naan puffy...

  • very well done :))

  • Good video! Anyway definitely you should get external microphone. :)

  • u r grt

  • Hi Madhura

I have just made this naan recipe of yours they were excellent. Everbody enjoyed them a lot specially my kids. I have got lots of complements and thanks to you for that.

Thanks for sharing such a wonderful and delicious recipe

  • Hi I like your recipe. can i use half wheat and half all purpose flours. does it come just like yours? thankyou.

  • @santhisl

I am sorry I never tried with this combination, how ever one of our viewer have tried making with wheat flour and it turned good. You may give it a try. Thanks for asking :D

  • @peacenbkind

  • well done. Is this the same as pitta bread? can you put some filling inside?

    thanks.

  • Thank you for sharing. I love the bread but never have tried to make it at home. I will definitely be giving this a try this weekend.

  • The video needs subtitle. I did not understand a word! If the video is for the Indians then speak Indians but if it is for English speaking people, it is absolutely illegible.

By the way, saying it looks delicious is ridiculous! Looks and taste are two different things!

  • How much water did you add?

  • if ppl r concerned about calories why bother watching such videos??

  • Very good presentation

  • @Vpuppala1

    Thanks :D

  • This is just what I've been looking for you make it look so stress free and easy, can't wait to try it out and thanks for posting. Adding you to my favourites. Cheers Madhura! : )

  • Great recipe, yeast is so expensive where I live that its almost easier just to buy naan bread ready made Can't wait to try this recipe Thanks for sharing

  • @ahamatmabrahman

Thanks, the taste and texture is even better than the naan with yeast. Enjoy :)

  • how many calories approx would one naan be?

  • @apu2593

I am not sure, but I think its around 60 to 70 calories...

  • @madhura94 at least 200-300 calories guaranteed .. coz ive seen ordinary tesco naans here in uk they hv 180 calories ... those naans r same size as well...

  • @masroorabbas

But there much difference in ingredients when they prepare food in restaurant that the home made one. In restaurant they prepare naan by using yeast. I have used yogurt instead of yeast which is always healthy option :)

  • @madhura94 Agreed but just consider it once... One slice of brown bread contains 95 calories and one slice of white bread contains 110 calories... so it is confirm that not less than 150 by no means

  • @masroorabbas

People that work and run all day to make a living need the calories, people that sit on their ass all day; do not! Do you see a fat person that works?

  • @Salahuddin2009a first of all y did u give me all dat info? secondly i have seen loadz of people who work in office n r very fit n they dont even go 2 gym... it is proven dat dese all depends on your genetics.. thirdly i m never ever ever worried about calories go read all da replies n u will c dat someone else asked 4 calories n i answered saying 150 calories logically.. do u c y i gave info on calories.i try 2 help people on intrnt rather dan pissing them off!!! n i agree on her english ting

  • @masroorabbas

So you basically agree with everything I said!

  • Hi madhura.this is khushi

i have tried ur garlic naan recipe but not able to make it like you.i thik the reason behind that is the dough is not like your dough after 4 hour.pl let me know which yogurt i need to use or any other tips to make it easier

thanks i more thing i have used non fat yogurt

  • @khushboo131

When you knead dough, make sure its pretty soft dough. Cover and keep in warm place. It should rise up in order to get soft and fluffy naan. Did you try making over gas heat?

  • Hi madhura.this is khushi

i have tried ur garlic naan recipe but not able to make it like you.i thik the reason behind that is the dough is not like your dough after 4 hour.pl let me know which yogurt i need to use or any other tips to make it easier

    thanks

  • Hi1i love ur recipes....i had a question can i skip baking soda..and jus use baking powder??

  • excellent loved it

  • also if I want to make this again can I use 1 egg to replace the yogurt bcoze in another recipe it said zat we could use ,2 egg so just wanted to ask.thnx

  • @medhini16

I never tried using eggs and I am not sure weather naan will remain that soft after using eggs. Sorry about that...

  • madhura one more favour pls.around how many naan will I get .will it be enough. for 4 people??

  • hi madhura just wanted to ask u smthing.does the naan get hard the next day if so then wat should I do to keep it soft.pleaseeee reply .its urgent

  • @medhini16

I usually make this naan fresh and eat this. This type of naan with out using yeast normally stays soft for 4 to 5 hours, I am sorry I never tried for 1 day, but I think it would remain soft after 1 day, as this type of naan doesn't get chewy or hard even after couple of hours. Make sure you cover it and keep. I hope this will help :)

  • @medhini16

One more thing if you bake in oven it won't stay soft that long, make sure you bake it on stove top...

  • I watched your video yesterday and made this last night...... omg...It was too good. I need just a small amount of liquid for the batter so I added pesto water and they turned out JUST LIKE yours did. It was sooooo delicious. So delicious. I used them as gyro bread for our dinner. My husband was so happy ^_^

  • it is so nice, i wanna try i out , thanks for the recipie yay

  • good channel madam....if u speak hindi ,its will be more easy for us to understand

  • Madaaam,

First of all, the naan looks GOOOOD !

Second , u did use yeast.

I pretty sure baking soda or baking powder contain yeast.

The only reason the dough expanded or "proved itself " after keeping it warm for four hours was because of the yeast in the baking powder or baking soda.

But good recipe ....thank you. I'll try it without the garlic and cook it in a microwave.

  • @anandvymutt423 Yes there is wild yeast.

  • Respond to this video... Also, baking powder and soda react with the acids to make CO2 which leavens the dough etc, if my chemistry is correct.

  • @anandvymutt423 : Did you try in the Microwave? How was it? Please let me know. As per my knowledge unless you have a convection microwave you cannot bake in it perfectly.

Baking Powder or Soda does not have yeast at all. Yeast is a living organism in its dormant state which gets activated with sugar and warmth of water.

  • how much water please? It wasn't part of ingredients

  • I just made it with organic flour and it was delicious...

  • at home?

  • it looks fantastic..im hungry and craving for indian dishes..

  • I am sorry, I get lost on the accent, how long does has to stay in the oven while it raises?

  • @PiccoloMichela

    4 hours

  • Absolutely splendid !!!

  • could you show how to boil potatos in the microwave or how do you boil it.thanks

  • good one

  • Hi Madhura,

your recipes are quite impressive, but I think you need to improve your english, sometimes its really hard to understand what you say.

  • Hi, your recipe great, but naan bread cooked on the stove is just never is as good as when cooked in a tandoor. You should try cooking the naan in a home tandoor. We just purchased one from Tandoor Living (just google Tandoor Living to see them on the web) - your recipe works much better when cooked in the tandoor!!

  • @0001TOZ

You are right traditionally naan is prepared in tandoor, but tandoor or even oven is not something easily available at all everyones home. So here I am trying to show an easy way of making naan without using yeast and tandoor. Of course anything cooked in tandoor tastes heavenly. Have a good weekend :)

  • hello, I would just like to say that you made a nice video! =] however, I have never heard of yogurt in bread and I would like to know if there is anything I can use to replace the yogurt since I never have any, thank you!

  • @CCVSquid

Thanks a lot. This is a yeast free recipe. I have replaced yeast by using yogurt, baking soda and lemon juice, which helps dough to rise real good. Sorry unfortunately I am not sure about any other substitute for yogurt :( Thanks, have a good weekend :)

  • Thanks madhura for ur response.

  • Please improve your english i cannot stand it

  • @ansariaqib Me too I find great difficulty in understanding her poor English .LOL

  • @jawad384 Her english is fine, she is just soft spoken.

  • @ansariaqib Her english is fine, she is just soft spoken.

  • hey madhura i like ur recipies and i want to know can i make naan in microwave?

  • @anu3985

hey Anu, sorry this naan can not be baked in microwave, but you can bake it on regular skillet like how I showed in video...

  • hi Madhura,

Nice to see ur vedio. Please tell me can i make naan in microwave?

  • your from india? wow i wouldnt have known :) thanks for the recipe

  • ...after adding yoghurt and lemon juice to dough,

(it is necessary to preheat the oven to 150*F ?) - and for how long you suggest to bake a sticky dough? - 45 minutes? and then take it out and add flour and further knead the naan?

  • @greniocracy

you have to put dough in warm oven or at any warm place for 4 hours, you don't need to bake it. What I am saying is start oven on 150 deg for 5 mts, turn it off, and then put dough covered in deep bowl in warm oven. So that warm oven will help it to rise up little fast....

  • @madhura94 Okay, thanks now I got it.

Please write me also, when dough rose up, how long to bake it? 150*F/45 min?

  • @greniocracy

ok once the dough rise up you need to dust little dry flour just like pizza dough, take a small ball, roll whatevr shape you like, apply garlic, cilantro and then either roast on skillet on gas heat or bake on 500 degree for 4 to 5 mts till the time Naan gets light golden spots.... For better taste I would suggest to roast it on skillet....

  • @madhura94 thank you. Now all is clear :-)

However I dont have a skillet so I am forced to bake it.

    Thank you Madhura.

  • hey madhura i don't have baking soda .. but have baking powder .. if i use only backing powder how it works?

  • @mdabhade1234

Since we are not using yeast in this recipe, then Baking soda and lemon juice is mandatory for this recipe. You can easily get baking soda in any store

  • i like this recipie, but i am vegan. Can I make this without the yogurt? If not is there a yogurt substitute you would suggest?

  • @MyChannels79

I guess, you can get vegan yogurt in store. But yogurt is required in this recipe.

  • Thank you for the vid, Can I omit the lemon? I'm eating some right now that I bought at walmart and I LOVE it, but it doesn't have lemon in it. Can just normal white flour work as well? Thank you :)

  • @metallicarocks123

Sorry, lemon is important ingredient in this recipe. Normal white flour is fine though.

  • looks interesting, soon I will give a try.

    will subscribe. thanks.

    (you made very abundant explanation,

but you should work on sound quality).

  • @greniocracy

Thanks for the feedback and the suggestions. I am hoping my new HD videos will not have audio problem as it is recorded with mic. Watch Eggless sponge cake recipe and let me if its goof enough :-)

  • @madhura94 The idea of Yeast Free Garlic Naan is growing in me, so maybe this week I will give a try. In fact I am planning to do some modifications i.e to add spelt flour. Anyway thankyou, madhura. I am watching your movies with attention. Now is a time for sponge cake! :-D

  • hi again i have a fire stove so can i do it on the stove?? please reply thx

  • hi, i was just wondering if you want to make plain naan without garlic and that green stuff do you do it the same exact way from 00:01- 04:56? thanks for this video.(btw i am a 13 year old punjabi girl in the u.s.) i though u should know anyway thanks again :)

  • @mizzishukaur

yes you can follow the same recipe, just don't put apply garlic when you roll the naan. Yes you can do it on fire stove as well, just roast on a skillet from both the sides and then roast on direct heat like how we bake our phulka...

  • @madhura94 ok thank you :) Happy New Year!

  • @mizzishukaur

Wish you and your family a happy and prosperous new year. By the way, I really liked your channel. Keep up the good work.

  • @madhura94 aww thanks :)

  • Hi Madura,

If I just use Baking powder and not use baking Soda will it be OK or do i need to add baking soda as well while making this naan.

  • how to roast on gas stove?

  • just a suggestion, also show us how to make on the stove, not everyone use the oven and soem dont have like in india :)

  • @reenachitra

hey Reena I have shown both ways of baking Naan on pan as well as on oven. On pan you can roast from both the sides and then on direct on gas heat, like how we roast our phulka or bhakari. Thanks. Happy Holidays!
