Well I get that they're characters, but the first critical opinion formed in my mind when watching them was "Why? Oh God why do you hate us so? Must we sacrifice our first born to come back from his Hell?", etc. I'm just wondering why you did it, because when the first reaction is "My eyes! Help me! I can't SEE!", you probably want different characters. These characters are so bad they sap the will to live.
