brahman does not mean god, this is a massive misunderstanding just lke how atman does not mean soul. at a colloquial level they probably do, but when the upanishads are understood you realise that god doe not exist. the devas are not gods but represent the aspects of our own character and mind. like anger, jealousy and happyness, all represented by gods(devas).

@gujjucheap can you show by shastric evidence whatever you are claiming ? not charvaak shastras ofcourse .
if you cant then its just your personal speculation . and ofcourse your are entitled to a healthy difference of opinion without trying to impose your thoughts on others. :)

perhaps you could be little more specific with slokas and the corresponding bhasyas . might even private message me if you want .

i cant exactly give you specifics but i know somone who can. type ino google 'allexperts aupmanyav' and click on the top one and ask a question to hi on the website. he is decsended from a line of people who wrote some of the hindu scriptures- no joke

@gujjucheap good . that makes all your claims nothing more than personal speculation . nothings wrong with that , since everyone have had his own interpretations of scriptures . but please dont generalise things and say that your individual thought is same as the thought of majority .
did you know that scriptures have been written well into 18 th century ? i have little time for all that . anyways thanks for clarifying your stand . god bless

@gujjucheap That's an interesting interpretation, and the beauty of Hinduism. Any Hindu I've ever met would consider you Hindu (unless you're not), even while they worshiped Krishna, Shiva, and my personal favorites Ram and Hanuman. :)

@Spiritualseeker86 I'm in love with a Hindu, and my CHristian parents were concerned, until I told them converts generally aren't accepted by the majority of the Hindu population in India. Here with Diasporias they're more accepting in general because they need the people. In India however I was almost kept out of a temple because of my background.

the monk all the way in the right corner closest to the sadhu isn't effected. The Sadhu was testing their resistance and in so... almost all of them stopped concentrating and were distracted. They must learn more! the Sadhu does look like he is enjoying too XD
