One of Harry Gant's advantages was he was the first guy to really figure out how to use camber. People had played around with camber for years and it usually resulted in blown tires, but Harry figured it out and it gave him a huge advantage particularly on smaller/handling tracks. He also had one of the greatest engine builders of all time which was a big help as well.
Harry Gant won most of his races on tracks a mile or shorter. If he would have won more on superspeedways, he would have won a WC championship, if not two. He was that talented, IMO.
funny how today's NASCAR fans would call Harry Gant a cheater by their standards. God forbid anyone tries to innovate or bend the rules.
