@WeTheFutureTV service providers do not "sell the use" of websites. They sell the customer an internet connection. If youtube gets banned, it's only the DNS name. You can still access their website with the IP address, or a proxy. And there are several sites out there who display youtube videos...

convincing a judge wouldnt be hard at all, infact youtube has thousands of videos that have Copywritten material in it, evidence of this fact wouldnt be hard to find and even a shitty lawyer and steer the judge towards the belief that youtube is evil...... It's just my opinion, but I don't really see a judge banning a website. Most website are controlled by very powerful people, and I'm sure if thier website gets banned because of just ONE copyrighted infringement, I"m sure they would sue. Youtube is owned by google, and if youtube is taken down, so is Google. If what you are saying is true, then almost 60% of websites are going to be taken down, which is very unlikely for the government to do...that's my opinion, now discuss!
@Mikidde I agree that a judge probably won't take a website down, but if they were, wouldn't this bill prevent a company from suing the government anyway? You would probably need legitimate evidence to bring down a website like in this manner though, unless the judge is heavily biased. That being said, *signs petition*

Anyone could go and lie about this to a judge and even if one person had lets say a video that could get banned its blamed on the WHOLE website which is unfair but also goes against our bill of rights like freedom of press and freedom of speech. They cant do it but sign the petition!!

I have seen torrent sites been banned then when I visit them I see the USA eagle sign of it saying they banned that site and take it offline.
Also they will never ban youtube that is ridiculous.

I hope you guys know that it is IMPOSSIBLE to completely censor the Internet. And in the video the chick says "...If you take it to a judge...", if you take it to a judge that means it was brought to court, and if it is brought to court then the owner of the website has the right to a fair trial.

@WeTheFutureTV service providers do not "sell the use" of websites. They sell the customer an internet connection. If youtube gets banned, it's only the DNS name. You can still access their website with the IP address, or a proxy. And there are several sites out there who display youtube videos...

Surely the fact that they "need to convince a judge" will put at least some limitation on sites which arent dedicated to copyright infringement from being banned?

@BoxRoomStudio Whether or not it's difficult to convince a judge, this is still dangerous for 2 reasons:
1) If the judge is biased or naive, it would be easily carried out.
2) This is legislation that goes on an "guilty until proven innocent" mind set, which is incredibly dangerous. It's punishment without proof.

convincing a judge wouldnt be hard at all, infact youtube has thousands of videos that have Copywritten material in it, evidence of this fact wouldnt be hard to find and even a shitty lawyer and steer the judge towards the belief that youtube is evil...... The law will basically ruin the internet and allow massive loop holes in our national security, because of the software being used to ban such websites from the rest of the world....

I think at the end im really hoping that this bill wont go threw. Ive known about it for about a month. Another horrible thing they can do is, they could just put a price on websites, so they could just say "For now on you have to pay 20 dollars a month to go on youtube." Its rediculous, if this bill goes throw it means we no longer live in a democracy. Please sign the petition and get whoever you know to sign it as well!

It's just my opinion, but I don't really see a judge banning a website. Most website are controlled by very powerful people, and I'm sure if thier website gets banned because of just ONE copyrighted infringement, I"m sure they would sue. Youtube is owned by google, and if youtube is taken down, so is Google. If what you are saying is true, then almost 60% of websites are going to be taken down, which is very unlikely for the government to do...that's my opinion, now discuss!

@Mikidde I agree that a judge probably won't take a website down, but if they were, wouldn't this bill prevent a company from suing the government anyway? You would probably need legitimate evidence to bring down a website like in this manner though, unless the judge is heavily biased. That being said, *signs petition*
