Know what it feels & sounds like to hit a car thats just pulled out on you knowing that as you approach it there's f@*k all you can do about it?

Then get the blame for causing the accident even though it wasn't your fault & then watch the people getting cut out by the emergency services.

OBJECTS IN MOTION theory? Lock the brakes and slide = slide. Do you know the principles behind ABS? If the car begins to slide, don't lock the brakes and give in. Release the brakes, turn into the slide and then regain control. Handbrake!!!! It can straight your car out better than brake petal.

In the US that maybe so.. but in the UK you cant put anything on your tires that will damage the surface of the roads.. so even though they are legal its pointless getting them its probably better to get winter tires. we dont tend to get ice and snow to often in the south at least not bad enough to make it worth getting any equipment to aid in grip, Not to mention if we do get ice bad its normally gone in a few days most of the time due to pretty efficient salting of the roads.
