  • SURE SCREWED THE WARRANTY ON THAT NEW TORINO

  • Awesome high speed rockford!

  • I like how they used the bent car in the close-up shots. Music is out of place though.

  • That is one tough ass grand torino.

  • thankX man lol ... I was fooled there

  • Comment removed

  • @cartoonist1975 thats a ford...

  • That is Suzy Kendall. I thought for sure it was Jane Seymour.

  • That car practically bent in half on the jump onto the Ferry. Poor Torino :(

  • Its the evil kowalski. kind of lame.. was this a vanishing point tv movie knock off>

  • "The French Connection" it ain't, but overall, pretty good.

  • 1:28

    Look at that perfect reversed-180.

And the swing/fling effect he makes afterwards!

Pure eyecandy here, only cars from back then could do that.

  • @SkullSyker I was about to say that. That is one skilled driver. I wonder if they had a quicker steering box equipped for that.

  • Love the car chase scenes of the 70's. You could actually see the action, not the fast editing of now days where they cut the scene 27 times a second.

  • I love classic cars, something that can take a hit and keep going, real American iron and steel, not like the new crap now-a-days carbon fiber, and fiber glass

  • Looking for a part from this movie that was filmed in Lutcher, LA. It was the part where he jumps the railroad tracks. We are looking for this clip to place on the Towns Facebook site. Can you help? I remember as a kid watching them film this movie. Hollywood in a small country town in 1972.

  • Years ago my buddy had a Plymouth with a 440 and used to do awesome forward-reverse 180's like that cop did. There was a trick to it... you had to hit neutral for a second after you reversed direction or your drive-shaft would turn into a twisted pretzel.

  • @HigherWisdom A friend of mine did the same thing with a '74 Grand Prix with a 455. But those cars were so heavy, you really had to get them moving to make them twist around like that, and they were very hard to control once they came out of the spin.

  • @lucasorcery I would take the Pontiac too, notice how several times, the Pontiac is in front of the Torino, I wonder why.

  • 1:29-1:33 that shit is amazing

  • At 6:13, Barry Newman looks directly at the camera.

  • lol in the end id still take the wide track pontiac over the ford

  • The Torino goes on whit the broken chassis... AWESOME

  • Ford Torino gran sport POWER!!

  • oh fffuck!! sweat loose threaded tire slide at 1:30 damn!

  • Class. No effects but the style made up for all that.

  • dont worry, only 150 frames, 600 tire rods, 300 exhausts, and 900 tires were harmed in the making of this filmXD

  • I love that 180 !!! at 1:28

  • that was one tough Torino! great chase, awsome stunt driving. you don't see that in todays movies

  • And that reverse 180 the cop did was classic,,,,thats alot of car too sling around like that!

  • Another Barry Newman Classic,,,that Torino was definetly Ford Tough lol,but i love my Pontiacs,,,them 69' Catalina's were on his ass like a new pair of boxers lol

  • I've just been weeping with joy ! No, Really !

-Everyone & the Internet told me that this masterpiece did not exist.. .-I despaired. -So, it was only in my 'imagination'........

But YouTube made me spill my Bourbon ! -FEAR IS THE KEY -ca.1972; -I'd searched for ages for this film & YouTube delivered ! All the doubting suckers shrivelled up & died - Fuck 'em ! -Fuck 'em all !!

  • ha its not banana shaped anymore!

  • Excellent!!

  • Whats rims that GT have? I'd like some for my 76 Montecarlo

  • Cop did the dodgiest reverse 180 ever!

  • This movie looks good, these chases on the clips 1&2 are awesome, can't believe I have never seen this movie, how many Torinos did they go thru on this flick ?

  • These old scenes are pretty good but you know damn well the motor mounts would have broke when he landed on the barge, not to mention the missing oil pan etc. Dukes of Hazzard jumps mean bent frames and car don't run no more. But who cares there still fun. Best recent chase scenes I'd have to say the Bourne Identity movies have upped the game quite a bit.

  • the old cars're better than the new cars. for exaple, the Buick GSX (yellow and black stripped) its my favorite car and its wonderfull.

    sorry my english

  • don't mess with american cars, they sure are tough. No matter what terrain the red Ford never gets stuck or broken.

  • Kowalski sure can drive.

  • Guess Henry really did make them Ford Tough back then...

  • I thought I had seen all these films before.....Vanishing Point, Gater, White Lightning, etc......first I've heard of this one.

  • 38 years ago lmao

  • just like dirty mary crazy larry

  • thought the cop car is a bonneville but its got tail lights like a tempest. she still needs a smackin.

  • Those Pontiac police cars are Catalinas.

  • Barry Newman drove that Grand Torino like Clint Eastwood's Zipper Head boy.... all fucked up like a Korean.

  • geiles Auto geiler Film, man sieht das die Stunts auch in der reihenfolge gefahren wurde, wie die szenen gezeigt worden sind, das Auto geht immer mehr kaputt und fährt trotzdem....klassische Amerikanische Power

  • After watching how good a '72 Torino is off-road I wonder why anyone ever bought a Land Rover.

  • Barry Newman was much more than Petrocelli,he has to be a real star, but he was underrated

  • I've been trying to find this film for years kept telling my mates about a car chase with the guy from Vanishing point in. I remember the car being white but was probably watching it on a black and white tv (we didn't get colour till 1975 !)

Any way thanks for the posting.

By the way is that car related to Christine as it keeps repairing itself....?

  • Same with the Duke Boys man General looked great after all those jumps.

  • @fizzy49cc Until 1988 i saw color films only in the cinema.

  • Kowalski lives!!!!!!!!!!

  • Barry Newman had to be treated for severe depression after having to drive that piece of shit Torino. The Torino got what it deserved it got worked over then sent to the scrapyard. These cars were so sad that they made the police cars look good.

  • what the hell man, the Torino was better than any chevy shit that was around in 1972.

  • And all done without the aid of seat belts. What did they have in those Torinos, Star Trek style intertial dampers? :o)

  • man hes just killing those torino's frames

  • dam, they bent the frame again.

but that torino and catalina look nice, wish i had one of them

  • Excellent shot of the rear view mirror at 5:18 to 5:25..accompanied by the sound effect..brilliant.brilliant

  • Love the way the car repaired it's bent front end after the jump.. Like the General lee in the dukes of hazard. They could roll that one and not scratch the paint.....

What a waste of a great car

  • Pontiac offered an "Enforcer" police option on the Catilina full size, and LeMans midsized cars up until the late 80's

  • The abuse those cars took i will bet the cars of today would fail in 5 seconds. Good ol detroit iron! Now all todays kids want are rice rockets with those STUPID looking wings...

  • I like both, actually, and some of the new cars can take a beating. All that matters is who made them, so please do the world a favor and quit your xenophobic brand whoring, okay, K9FON?

  • dnt be a jackass. please? hes right, modern cars cant take beatings like this

  • Frame strength aside, I imagine the ECU would shut down to 'limp home mode' on a modern at the first sign of a knock!

  • @K9FON

they will have kiled a car for every stunt / fancy move

nearly all of the jumps will have destroyed the front track rods and suspension+

it will have relocated fuel tank and roll cage.

  • @K9FON I agree, im 16 and ill take one of these detroit cars over a shitty rice rocket anyday. kids now have no calss.

  • @K9FON You are a STUPID IDIOT,,,, If you think they did not spend ten to 15 torino's on this movie... I have a farm and ran a celica against a torino... Torino failed!

  • @Homejobsite This is true, the went through dozens of these old movie cars, no different then cars today. That said, I do believe they used the same Charger for all of Bullitt's chase scene shots - now that's durable.

  • @anfman1986 Actually, there were two Mustangs and three Chargers used in Bullitt - the third Charger was a shell that the Mustang towed and then cut loose into the gas station at the end of the chase.

BTW - if you watch Bullitt again, notice how the Charger appears to instantaneously jump a car length or two .. when it hit the pumps the explosion didn't go off and it crashed right through and came to rest on the other side. So they pushed the button again and edited it together.

  • I love the ford torino

  • I love a car chase, especially American V8 muscle cars, but cant be arsed to watch the whole film, thanks for a great couple of clips. :D

  • i cried when the frame on the torino bent.

  • a police departement that acquires pontiacs? what is this? dubai? monaco?

  • she said "you´re mad - you´re insane"

my thoughts were "so what? nice driving"

  • Would have loved too see Steve McQueen and Barry Newman in a chase scene like Bullitt and Vanishing Point,2 of the best besides Peter Fonda!

  • What can u say? Ford Tough!!!,but imma Pontiac lover and that Catalina was on his ass like a new pair of daws!!!

  • That torino put up with a lot

  • Sweet J (Rockford) turn the Trooper pulled off an the beginning, he over spun it, but caught it nicely. BTW just what set up did LA State have in these Pontiac cruisers anyway 455's? Didn't know GM offered a police package on Pontiac Catalina's anyway. They look like they've been lowered a bit too, maybe just for the film?

  • super-duties were available in the old ponchos... back in the old days, you could get the best engine the manufacturer offered in just about any police car...

  • Roy Budd! And who have we got today? Justin @*&!ing Timberlake.

  • roy budd the man.

  • Thats a great one! Check out the car chase in the Seven Ups. That one may be the best car chase ever.

  • what about the italian job{1969} version.thats pretty cool as well.

  • Two Torinos were used: the one from the ferry jump had a bent frame, which was very obvious, and it appeared again on the beach. The other one had right headlight damage and it showed up on the road after the beach scene. Compare 6:08 to 6:17.

  • 1972 Ford Torino GT... Was a sweet car before the cops chased him. It takes a licking & keeps on ticking! Ford that is.

  • damn, those cops, suck at driving

  • louisiana state police i should know becasue i am from Louisiana

  • Wow !!! Does anyone know where I can get the soundtrack !?!? :)

  • You can "find" the album for download if you google "Roy Budd Fear is the Key blog" its the first entry but I didn't tell you ;)

  • EMI FILM AS WELL

  • Amazing, the beating that Torino took! Was that the Timex edition? After the ferry jump there was obvious frame damage and yet it kept. going. on.

  • Man does he ever beat the living h#$l out of that Gran Torino...

  • Its funny seeing this dude play a bad guy!!!

  • if you watch the whole film it turns out he is not a bad guy...

  • q carro es???

  • a sweet 180 man
