  • the first part was kinda Santana'ish! Cool!

  • Not only do I own a Mexican Strat... I married a Mexican!

  • @Philtration ....I have a Mexican Tele and love it...and I too married a sweet lady of Mexican extraction (the Los Angeles variety) ....24 years this March...Latin ladies are the most beautiful in the world....we have 2 of the most beautiful daughters ...(cute little mixed burritos...since I am white) ...anywhere.

  • @saffordpastor Nice!

My wife is of the Chicago variety.

A Chicago Chicano if you will.

  • This is my next tele.

  • Dig it. Some very nice licks and a great sound.

  • Must be a classic player 60s tele

  • That is some awesome playing man.

  • Love your playing in this one. Are those stock p'ups?

  • Good effort good tone

  • Which Mexican Tele is this? it doesn't look like the standard, the pickguards different!

  • that was great, enjoyed this the last minute, you warmed upto to it!...love Tele, thinking of getting the three pickup one for xmas, pine body, could be fun! cheers!

  • hey Im mexican, and I want that a mexican tele

  • im gonna buy a mexican tele soon :D this sounds great men, really great :D.

  • @polloskles Mexi teles are just about the best bang for your buck. Ive owned american and mexi and the difference is pretty slim, unless epiphone and gibson the guitar is virtually the same save for some warmer pickups in the usa model.

  • which is better for "hot" blues. this or a mexican strat hss

  • WOW! Great playing, great sounding guitar. You can get alot of different tones out of a Telecaster?

  • @waterhead001 u can get tones out of any guitar but the tele can do more than most... thats why its a largly popular guitar :)

  • Very nice! Once again it shows that you don't need alot of expensive gear to sound good.

  • Oh Yeah! Peace 2 All!

  • you play with heart!

  • Love that sweet Tele sound! Some good playing too.

  • Nice playing, and cool guitar.

  • Hey, I really like your sound. What are your amp settings, and did you turn the volume on your guitar down? Cheers!

  • Well this was done in a Tele anyway... Is that a Classic 60s Tele?

  • nicely done man

  • Question 4 any1 who reading this, would a telecaster be able to handle rock and rock leads? If not, what would be a good guitar for it

  • @NegmaDeath hell yeah, i usta have one and u could rock the shit out of it. with the right settings that guitar sounds crunchy and raw and powerful enough for lead or rhythm. but then again some ppl like a different sound, so u would actually have to play with and fuck around with it urself b4 u actually buy it.

  • I like your playing

  • Really excellent playing. Thank you, sir. Much obliged.

  • Great sound man, nothing too technically difficult but full of soul and it sounds awesome.

  • dont know how this can have 63 dislikes, get over the tone of the amp, this is very cool playing.

  • wonderful

  • Good job... way to play with feeling... Something young guns have a problem with... If the young players knew how much tail they could get by playing the blues lol... not to many hot chicks show up for a death metal concerts...but in my day...oh did they show up to listlen to the blues or blues/pop rock!

  • ooooh a little Zep by someone who knows his history.... (i.e. Story is.....Page played a telecaster called the "Dragon" on the first album and basically the next three Used the les pauls basically for some rhythm stuff and took them on the road, left the tele home. A close friend took it and painted it(thought he was doing page a favor) thus ruining the sound. The neck is in his rosewood tele which he played on the the last Zep album, Honeydrippers, The Firm and his solo work

  • Hi, is that a Mexican "standard Telecaster" or one of the custom models made in Mexico ??? Have you modified it ?? pickups or something ??? It sounds great, and very good playing.

  • whats you amp settings

  • Same guitar and amp ;)

  • hate the blues. it has long been stagnant.

  • @kqpm392 tell that to john mayer, and his millions of fans.

  • @kqpm392 How can you hate the blues? How can 3 words be so depressing to make me wish you never were born..

  • @kqpm392 you just gave me the blues.

  • yeah ! thanks

  • Led Zeeeeeeeeeeeeep haha!

  • tabs?

  • great tunes... i love it. i've buyed "her"...

  • GOT A MEXICAN TOO.........DAMN GOOD GUITAR

  • @cammybammy You can get alot of different tones out of a Telecaster? I heard it is very versatile. Asking because Im thinking of getting one.

  • @waterhead001 i have a G&L asat classic, basically a telecaster with hotter pickups, and yes, the rock, teles a les pauls all the way

  • Man, that sounds good, keep it up bro.

  • I've been hearing that Teles are good for Jazz can anyone clarify this for me?

  • @Metalhead001122 yes they are very good for this type of clean sound, great jazz and blues tones, for jazz i recomend you use the neck pickup, they sound amazing.

  • @tom27j Thanks man!

  • @Metalhead001122 yes they are Ed Bickert is known for his use of a telecaster in his jazz playin, as you can see here watch?v=6rmyGpA-OoA&feature=related

He has put an humbucker in the neck position but what i did is putting a seymour and duncan ssl-1 strat pickup in it, the result is som pure great tone!

  • I hear some "Since I've been Lovin you" in this:)

  • @wojtekmetal

oh yes! I was about to comment on the same thing!

  • @wojtekmetal no shit, sherlock.

  • @unabonger777 when i was posting comment there weren't name of backing track in description, watson.

  • @wojtekmetal no shit, especially after he says it's the backing track

  • @sunp Look at what i posted lower, sherlock.

  • @wojtekmetal some? hahaha

  • @wojtekmetal thats the first thing I thought :P

  • cool sound! i love it...

  • I dig it! - Lets have some more

  • Dude! Nice!

  • Fender and marshalls are a great combination

  • lol. dude we have the same amp i guess xD

  • If you want your guitar to get that 60s sound, you should buy a 1 Meg CTS Volume pot for your Tele. I have a book on Telecasters, and it said that all Teles from the 60s have a 1 Meg Volume pot. I put one in mine and it sound way better than the 250k pot.

  • Yeah...you bad!!! :D)

  • i have the same guitar!

1 question: does it have some kind of special name? tnx

  • wait if thats a standard tele..how did u get it with a rosewood fretboard?

  • @rawlingsguy It's not a standard it's a Classic 60's Tele

  • are you running any amp or pedal overdrive or EQ? It seems like mine struggles to get real good high end punch without some treble boost

  • Omg this is amazing! please give me tabs of this or teach us how to play this

  • maaate your sound is amazing :) what tone settings you using, great guitar, guitar player :)

  • Really really nice. Would like some more details on the tele... Model/year/any mods/stock p'ups?

  • Comment removed

  • same drum part as "since i've been loving you" by led zeppelin

  • sick tones..did u changed the bridge plate or pickups? nice one : )

  • i think is the best buy i´ve made in my life =)

  • very nice. Tele mex = good!

  • What color is that pickguard? Anyone?! Nice playing man ;-)

  • @Hyronimus89 mint green

  • whut was that intro from??? forgot the song:P

  • This is sexy.

  • Are the pickups stock? I'm thinking about buying this guitar because of the neck. I love guitars with a chunky neck.

  • You need soul to play stuff like that man. And you got plenty of soul.

  • sweet dude

  • the intro sounds alot like since ive been loving you by zeppelin!? :D

  • @Xwindmeel read the discription!

  • @Xwindmeel read the description

  • Comment removed

  • @Xwindmeel It's in the description. =)

  • @Xwindmeel it is through in through with a little improv

  • Nice playing, bravo.

  • For what its worth, Tadeo Gomez, one of the original and most famous of all the early Fender craftsmand, was a Mexican American. Guitars with his initals on them, depending on contdition can be worth $50K ++. NOW Having said that NONE of the new made models INCLUDING the US made ones are the same as the old ones. In may ways they are better. I have a new Squire that I got for $150.00. It plays as nice as my old 1954 that I sold years back@!

  • @allabouttheink Your remark about the Mexican chap is spot on...I think I'm right in saying that Fender employed many Mexican/Hispanic folk back in the early days, so I suppose you could say that Fender have 'come home' in moving operations across the border. As far as new guitars being better than old ones is concerned, that may be the case in a few individual cases, but if someone offered me a new Strat for my old brown burst, I'd have to politely turn them down.

  • The Mexicans are first rate, I’ve got a lovely candy apple red Telecaster; it’s correct in every detail and the neck is excellent...rosewood slab board – no stinting there – with clay dots, not the common pearloid ones you often see, correct silver spaghetti lettering decal and Kluson tuners. The only thing I’ve changed are the pups....hand wound by a chap in LA, Nunley Wade....’nice one Nunley!’

  • DIS MAN GOT SOUL!!!!

  • Very nice blues playing sir! :D

  • nothing wrong with that axe, it doesn't hurt that the picker is awesome as well. I've owned an american standard tele for over 10 years and there is a difference. But the mexicans are pretty good guitar as well. If you do buy an american and you are a tele player you will probably never have to upgrade. Just my opinion

  • I have that guitar :)

  • Sounds a bit like Since I've Been Loving You

  • @lordieuan777 the backing track is since ive been loving u -.-

  • @lancer47n Yeah I should have read the description...

  • nice. I prefer the maple necks though.

  • Good playing man!

  • dude i have a real oddball question. I went into guitar centre today and they tell me the mexican standard telecaster does not come with a rosewood neck.. Is this so? How'd you get a MIM tele with a rosewood neck??

  • @alejandro8888 Hey man, I just happened to see your question: This isn't a MIM standard tele - it's a Classic 60's tele. They're MIM as well, but a whole other deal. Vintage appointments, much higher spec than normal MIM Fenders, and closer in price to a MIA standards than MIM standards. They're like the MIM versions of the top level MIA Vintage series, rather than the MIM version of the MIA standards. And they're great guitars.

  • @bonestructureofakung Oh man thanks so much for your response! I wanted a tele but I don't like the maple necks and I didn't want to buy an American Standard, so you've pretty much solved my problem haha. A million thanks bro. I'm running to the store to get this pretty soon.

  • very good performance, I play this too but without background music, if anyone can tell me where can I find this kind of background for blues please I was searching for it for a months. Mail me if you know,

    Best regards

  • how much would a guitar like this cost, does anyone know? Im more of les paul kind of guy, but i do like these tele's and do kind of want to get one..

  • @lilticklez a little more than 400 USD.

  • Very Nice! In tone and phrasing it reminded me of Carlos Santana's style. A nice twist to add fresh interest to an old favourite.

  • i just bought a tele - hopefully i can sound as good as this guy :P

  • There are some Mex Teles that are priceless, But I have a Japanese one 87,only one year and it blows away or is equal to any American made or Mex made one ..I Treasure my Tele more than my women..But hey it comes from the fingers and soul......

  • nice interpretation of Since I've Been Loving You. Really good!

  • i have this tele its fucking awesome god xd i play punkrock with this on the stock pickups its so dirty on the distortion i don't even miss the humbucker on my gibson tom delonge

  • Sweet ear candy!!! Awsome playing!!! MIM, MIJ, MIA, can't beat the sound of a Tele.

  • what guitar this?? classic series 60 tele?? but the colour is olympic white or artic white? thx

  • we made the best guitars in the world, dont buy a cheapes one, this guitars are low cost and have a lot of the american fenders ....... 4 begginers this are tje best.

  • oh i dig it...

  • Very nice, man. Please see my lame efforts on 21maskman. Thanks.

  • u're real soulful man hey are u using the guitar as it comes out of the box or did u replace any parts?

  • Wow great video man. Sweet playing. I'm thinking of customizing a telecaster with a mirror pick gaurd, white body like yours with purple LED fret markers and your video gave me a good idea of white my guitar could look and play like. Thanks brotha.

  • thanks for posting this! now I know how the tele sounds though an MG. I have the MG100DFX head. Great job as well!!

  • Beinn working form 7....

  • I just got myself a mexi tele. all white, maple fingerboard.

comin from a les paul. I love the tele. the brightness just...it reaches my soul and just...does magnificent things to me.

looking forward to seeing what I can get out of her.

  • Oh to play like that...

  • Wow, i totally dig this! just think it will even be better on a LP

  • beautiful tele

    u look like a bandit:P

  • Just got one today in sunburst...great solo man!

  • I clicked on your video because I just got me a good ol' Mexcan Tele.

Since I've Been Loving You is one of my life's soundtrack songs - and I'm loving every single note you've diplayed. Couldn't have heard a better Tele song.

    Good job.

  • Awesome blues man! Love the tone

  • do strats and teles sound the same at times, because im tired of the sound of strats, but this sounds really good

  • what's the difference between mexican tele pickups and american tele pickups?

  • i like telecasters and hate strats, and in stores they put those shitty fender super light strings on the fender guitars UGH! i refer diodarrios .9 or higher, no more of that slinky bulshit

  • Pure gold...or is that blue.

  • Great playing. Also an excellent recording. Not many telecasters show their true colors over internet videos. You can hear the creamy, clear tone.

  • Hello, what gets you a better Jimmy Page tone? This or your Les Paul?! I really, really cant decide what to buy and its killing me! Im thinking sorta just in general, not for any particular era... (also the 60's one is the closest to Jimmy's tele isnt it?)

  • tele is the best and also its a universal indtrument so you can play much on it,

  • @Jackamole

Go with the guitar that Jimmy plays. If he plays a LP, buy that one. Everything else is effects pedals & amps...etc. I have both. I play my tele for county type stuff and some blues but it's hard to beat blues on a LP. The Studio LP Vintage Mahogany is a great priced guitar. Check out some links on youtube.

  • The les paul. Ive tele and les paul vids up you should check out.

  • well that first album was done entirely on a tele, so if thats what you're lookin for then...

  • Nice improve and vibe. Thanks for putting this up.

  • Hi,has this got alnico or ceramic pickups in it?.Thanks.

  • You can make a tele sound incredible. Very envious. Practice, practice, pratice!!!

What gauge strings tele or lp just curious?

  • since!

  • rock on man

  • Mu bien, sigue asi pipili

  • This is proof that one doesn't need an expensive axe and a 30 watt handwired amp to sound like something. It's all in the fingers, and this guy has it. Play on!

  • the guitar he is using is 1100 i have it also i got mine for 560 used its a great guitar and i suspect hes runing the sound from his amp to a computer with a recording software so it is in the fingers but its also in the overall presentation also

  • I got the Fender Nasville Telecaster (has three single coil pick-ups). My next one is a Fender Strat American with the S1 option or a G&L Legacy.

  • actually he has a fender and a marshall mg15dfx, but fingers did 9/10 of the work!

  • God, dude. I can't improv that well, I always go back to the same licks! And nice Tele.

  • its one of those things people always tell you, practice practice practice. Especially with scales/blues I find that each time you go though it, you are trying something different. Also playing with back tracks helps give you some neat idea's i'd highly suggest it. It may not seem like much, but when you do that for a couple hours a day for a few weeks well you will be improving like nothing :D

  • The Mex one preserves somehow that old vintage bluesy sound from the 60s, great great sustain and sound too, it was my best decision last year.

  • You mean the 60's edition ?

  • is that really at mexican made tele cause it sounds great and what amp u got? How much was the guitar. Im just curious cause i might get a tele soon.

  • The MIM teles will be about $499 new, but you can get them used for a lot less. He says in the description that he's using a Marshall MG15DFX, but you could probably get a better amp for the money IMO. A little Fender tube amp will make this guitar sound amazing

  • True but I'm pretty sure its not the standard mim, its the classic series 60's tele. which go for $749 new.

  • You have good technique, but you gotta let it BREATH man, thats the key in blues. Phrasing!

  • @eniggma123 i agree totally less is more. Having said that there's is nothing wrong with what your playing just need to relax a bit

  • He's Good!

  • Very nice sir. Nice Tele ya got.

  • this man knows his sound

  • nice playing

    really well done

    is that a standard?

  • no its a 60s

  • keep it goin' man u rock .

  • This is not a mexican standard.. its a 60's reissue clssic model made in mexico..... Some say that the 60's Teles are the best ever.... i own one too,. mine is in candy apple red. love the nect and clean tone....... better than 52' as far as i'm concerned

  • mexican telecasters are the best as far as im concerned

  • try the american vintage ones :-). They rule!!! :-)

  • first riff was Led Zeppelin hehe lol This is definatly inspred by "Since I've been lovin you" Nice. I like it hahas. Good music to study to.

  • Thats why hes playing to the since ive been loving you backing track :)
