  • just classic

  • love it

  • That was great! I used to love Dr. Hook!

  • This is a great catchy tuna! Catch uh the TUNA! Yayeh!

  • You never know when or where your words will light a fire!

When my little girl (from age 15 months on up to about age 5) heard this song, she would sing and dance like no body's business. It was the sweetest thing you ever saw!

Now, when I remind her of this.......she still giggles. This is a classic as far as I am concerned. My little girl is now 34 and about to deliver my FIRST grandson. Guess what our theme song will be?

  • @houndlady1 WoW that's a great story ..... Love Mo xxxxxx

  • @houndlady1 - Love it! Reminds me of my Daddy! We used to take the back roads into the town next to ours, and we would sing and dance in the car to oldies, and especially Dr. Hook! I am now 36, and have his only grandson! How ironic??? I will have to pass the torch, since Daddy went to his Heavenly home in 2007, but songs like this bring back so many memories of him. He left me with a legacy, and an appreciation for GOOD MUSIC!!!!

  • @amtoby76 God bless your dear dad .. Love Molly xxxx

  • do the musicians today have as much fun as these guys did while performing? i mean that as an honest question. when you go to a sold out concert are the singers actually HAPPY to be there?? seems more like they are terrified of the crowd and wish they had somewhere else to be.

  • thay can only dream there' s could be this grate rock and roll forever

  • This is like the best song ever!!!

  • @dmanewas yes yes it is :)

  • ahahahahahahahahah super:))))))))

  • the guy Ray (the patch guy)looks like he had a great on stage

  • so nice ...

  • 578 times exactly? wow.. Dennis is cool.

  • This is like the funky gibbon -with Ray being Bill Oddie!

  • my son once played this song 578 times in one afternoon, now it doesn't sound bad at all. He'll kill me if he reads this....

  • @judiekleng I think it may have sounded like 578 times, but no way. The song runs 2:19, thus 578 times would have taken 22.3 hours back to back without any dead air between.. But who's counting - it's a great cut by the Hook.

  • @50srockandroll Well, it sure seemed like it, just saying....But he still hums it when he comes to dinner five times a week...hey, thanks for doing all the arithmetic sp? We've had a lot of fun with it anyway...

  • Lay my eye on you!!! No THAT´S funny!!!!

  • What are those guitars? Its knawing at me that I can't figure out what they are! Please Help!

    Great song :D

  • @greycollar

Hi...yeah hard to figure, well the Headstock finally was the giveaway: Ovation Preacher and Viper...looks like they had an endorsement deal with ovation back then

  • The song your looking for is here on youtube

  • i love this song! going to see dennis locorriere now on the 5th of november and i really cant wait!

  • Drummer has such an original style!

  • The drummer and the bass player have both left us. The drummer had liver cancer and the bass player had a motorcycle accident.

  • They still do small town tours together. Im from Alberta, Canada and they did a show a little while ago in a bar where im from and seem to pop up every couple yrs at the same bar. I missed it but heard it was really good.

  • No way where in Alberta did you see them? You know if they ever come to Edmonton?

  • They normally go to a place in Airdrie, I am glad I moved to Calgary from Edmonton.

  • @MultiZephyr Alberta is best

  • is the band still together and are all the members still alive

  • Dennis locorice the lead singer still sings on his own and the guy with the patch sawyer sings back up sometime for Randy Travis

  • Ray is still touring...check out my channel for his Springfield Massachusetts concert

  • I don't get how a band who have been around for so long, and made so many albums can be so unfamus

  • WTF? Are you 12? Dr. Hook is famous as hell. Maybe they're not famous to whatever generation you're from but my generation knew all about them.

  • This is true !

  • I think what "Woo" is trying to say is that their fame hasn't carried down past their own time -- which, though it breaks my heart, is mostly true. You'll find tons of young Elvis, Beatles, and Stones fans, but you don't get that kind of cross-generational fandom with Dr. Hook. You *might* get a glimmer of recognition for "The Cover of the Rolling Stone", but that's about as much as the average person under 30 knows of them.

  • Thats not the case here in the U.K..

Dennis Locorriere has an awesome following of all ages. I know kids as young as 9 who regularly attend his shows because their folks had Hook stuff so theyvre fairly well versed with it. And folk like Niki , Julianne ,Keeley etc range from about 17 to 22 and try to get to every gig on his many tours. His audience has a very diverse range of ages there and Magic 11.52 Radio plays Hook stuff every day and every single show plays their tracks.

  • Mind you, I think that is a crying shame -- not only because Dr. Hook is one of the best damn bands of their generation (heck, of the 20th Century), but also because their music has never been more relevant. Their crazy humor and cock-eyed way of looking at the world has a message that's well-worth listening to in today's world -- namely, that the establishment sucks and times can be hard, but if you keep life fun, everything will work out in the end.

  • You're absolutely correct when you say it's a crying shame. Dr. Hook was gigantic influence in their day, but so was Elvis and the Beatles and the Stones, they just haven't held their value to enough people over the past 20 years.

Woo, if I came off pissy, I apologize. I was really more shocked than anything else.

  • I do parties this song and cover of the rolling stone as a dj and one time even had a request to do it at a wedding. Youd think sharing the night together would be a more approriate tune but whatever they want theyre paying

  • @TheWhiteWolf1966 well i'm just 14 years old and i love dr hook!! i have all songs of them :o

  • @TheWhiteWolf1966 That may depend in wich country you were born! In native sweden, they where top´s, I had the good fortune to see them in concert twice!

and Ray had a diffrent hat, I guess that the straw one, fell apart!

    Great music!!

  • Dr.Hook is DA BOMB

  • they always seem to having a blast playing... what a fun band.

  • they were hot!!!!!!!!
