i have something to say to all you hsus supporters. first off if it is a nonprofit organization then why does the president make over 500k every year. No trophy hunters don't affect shark populations as much as shark finning operations, but now that sharks ARE endangered - these animals should be protected. Try watching the movie Sharkwater. If you paid any attention you would have seen the freezer truck in the parking lot of Our Market(where the weigh station is). That is why one of the last parts of the video show them cutting up the shark. All of the shark meat is loaded into the truck and taken off-island to a homeless shelter. So people get a little sport and others get a hot meal.

i was there for the tournament, and as a resident, i wish you could understand how important the income from the tournament is. OB would not be what it is today without the money that the fishermen and tourists have spent. the tournament is about a lot more than just a few sharks

they are only making a big deal about this because this shark is big. if it was a small fish and one of 'these' activists made a big deal about the suffering of the fish while it was carried to be weighed the over reaction would become obvious to a normal individual and the reaction would be disregarded as irrational.
