  • Tried with two friends, didn't work for me, for some reason : /. Are there any other methods to trace ip in msn?

  • @vispaaja You need to send a file or stream webcam to the person and then check the IP list again; one of the IP's should be the other person's.

If not I think there are free programs available on the net such as 'msn IP finder' which can do it for you; just make sure to read the readme first to make sure you are doing it correctly.

  • you could just take the whole list of IP's geoloc all of them and then it's easier to narrow down the location of your friend based on other factors. process of elimination goes faster that way. for example, most of them will be in san jose, LAX, and other colocations where the servers live so you know those aren't it, you take those in rural areas that resolve to ISP names instead of microsoft, yahoo etc and then you've got your match. IF your chat doesn't use relay servers which most do.

  • @chemicalsweet13 Yep, this also is a very good idea, though looking at 2 screen shots side-by-side is much easier for many a noob, and I was just leaving this guide open for people of a low skill level.

As I say though, good definitive alternative :)

  • @superant10000 Thanks! Also you could use Currports. The output is a bit more straightforward to your objective in the video. I thought it was a cool video thanks for posting!

  • @chemicalsweet13 Yeah, this tut is just an alternative method that someone requested me to make. Back in the day I used to use Nmap, perl and Hydra to get into people's FTP's and stuff when hacking, didn't really target specific people. But now I can't find a copy of Hydra anywhere and it sucks :( xD

  • @chemicalsweet13 Scrap that, just found a copy for Win and Unix!!!

Apparently freeworld is back online for Hydra's 10th anniversary.

The GUI is now actually a GUI for windows, I preffered the commandline so I could use perl to automate with it, but meh, it's okay for newbies.

I might still have source for a project of my own similar to the older commandline version of Hydra, will check for it monday or something :)

  • @superant10000 sounds cool! do keep us posted. :)

  • @superant10000 you have a link for the windows GUI of hydra?

  • @chemicalsweet13 I just checked, there isn't a GUI for windows, sorry, it's been re-released as a GUI for Unix operating systems like Fedora/Ubuntu and there is a version for Palm too. Saw .zip and assumed it was windows before, sorry :/

But you could always just get a LiveO/S with linux if you don't want to DualBoot/Switch operating systems and use it then :)

  • @chemicalsweet13 There's a Win32 release on the THC Hydra website (freeworld dot thc dot org), you have to compile it yourself with cygwin though, but it's not hard :)

  • @superant10000 thats cool thanks.

  • we have seen your IP by using youtube not by using procexp or wlm,,,ha haa haa u kept showing ur ip all the time

  • @dhoniman What do I care? This video is over a year old in case you didn't notice. I have a different IP now.

  • We have seen your ip by using youtube, not procexp or wlm...ha haa haa u kept showing ur ip

  • My name is Anthony Lewis for fuck sake...

    I'm Male aswell...

Please stop telling me how you can disable annotations, I already know and don't care. I only put it there for minimal comedic value...

  • Hello Anthony Real

  • Some files go over the MSN network acting as a proxy server. You might be getting the local agregation point IP.

  • Well how comes I always get their localhost ip from it when I try ? :S

  • It is immposible to do that. A local host IP is protected by the router they are using and any decent firewall protects it.

  • A firewall wouldn't protect someone from getting your IP if you allow them to directly connect to your computer (I.e. by sending a file to them over msn).

  • You haven't heard of a proxy server like Tor before have you?

  • Seriously... I use this all the time and it works.

Tor is a piece of shit anyway. And to be honest what does it have to do with Windows Live ?

Windows live messenger doesn't have proxy protection for direct connections such as file transfer or webcam sessions.

  • I did type a reply but it didn't send. Can't be bothered to type it again in detail. I basicly said, Anything can be masked as anything.

  • Yeah, I didn't say it couldn't be ? Although in this case, only a very low percentage of users have an application proxy which spoofs data to msn. Everyone else doesn't. So the likelyhood of this scenario is fairly minimal.

  • Sweet! :D Great tut! :D

  • ROFL.

    Thanks.

  • fail with the annotations. People can turn them off, like i did. Hai Mrs. Real

  • lol i know. but i was hoping that at least a couple of people would be too retarded to notice lol.
