Lol, who cares about the actual size number or letter? I just don't give a damn.
I go & try if it fits right. If no, then just try a smaller or bigger size, it's as simple as that :) And nowadays it's impossible to always be one size (e.g., size 2) cuz even in one country different apparel companies can have different measurement standards and have a huge difference in size (even if you measure them with a tape & they are the same).
So stop obsessing about SIZE, just buy what looks great
The problem is small is so diverse depending on where you live. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area and small is a 0-2. This is due to the high amount of Asians in our area. A small should be at least a 2-4 or even a 6. A medium should be 8-10 and a large 12/14 and x-large a 16. After that one enters into the plus arena. It does matter if one order items online
What was wrong with sizing the way it was done in 1970? What's wrong with calling a size by its millimeters or inches ? I have a 42 inch hip and a 40 inch bust and a 29 inch waist. My legs are so long between the crotch and the floor and my back is so long between the prominent neck bone and the waistline. My arms are so long from shoulder to wrist. Why doesn't that measuring work in inches or millimeters? The Obese have their own sizing charts. So do the dwarves. Call sizes by inches or mils.

That is why they have a Small, Meduim and Large for a reason
