I know music transcends race/age/gender etc but I just can't appreciate this guy. Who does he think he is, he acts like someone religious reggae superstar. Reggae music is black mans music. They sung against what the white people did to them. Now who is he to take that music? And that turban of his, lol. I'm sikh and that's how us guys wrap a turban. What's that about? I guarantee his following compromises of no more that 5% non white people. Why do you think that is? BTW i'm not a racist!
@naturalherbs .... Man you have surely shown a serious lack of knowledge, education, any idea what-so-ever about Rasta.... Rasta is Life, this World without racism, without classification of skin, equality of every man under the sun.... "until the colour of a man's skin is no more important than the colour of his eyes, there will be war".... Learn... engage brain then speak....
Burning Spear, culture, the heptones, i jahman levi etc... these are real reggae artists. Not being racist but what does this guy symbolise? He's just copying the real reggae artists and repackaging it. May aswell go see the REAL TING! SEEN
@naturalherbs That's a really closed-minded answer man, this guys are INCREDIBLE SKILLED MUSICIANS. If you analyze their music at composition level, they created stuff that doesn't existed before... Like Reggae not in 4/4 bar, songs like Hebron (3/4 and 6/8) or Seesaw (4/4 + 2/4), tempo changes, amazing modulations and style fusion (with jazz for example).
@naturalherbs Obviously, the greatest of the respects for those bands you name, they are the creators of this music, but really, Groundation is the next step on the evolution of this great style. They took the origins of Reggae (directly learned from the elders, like Don Carlos, Horsemouth, Congos, etc) and modern evolved high level music styles like jazz, and created a unique fusion.
You should tear your differences apart, and just ENJOY the great quality and feeling of Groundation music.
Bombaclass zajebista dziękóweczka za ten clip ! Bardzo żałowałem że nie udało mi sie Groundation zobaczyć.Jakbyście mieli tego więcej to wielka prośba o wrzucenie :-)
Hey mon, Ganga transcends race. Plus he has 2 token black girls on stage, none in the audience. My favorite is his accent.
