Oh, and the ZL1 BEAT EVERY FORD on the Nurburgring at 7:41.... As soon as FORD learns to put that power to the ground in a controlled manner, then and only then will GM have something to worry about.
0 - 60 in 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 184 MPH. made it around the Nurburgring in 7:41. faster than a Lamborghini Murcielago and a Porsche 911 Turbo. it may be heavy, but the proof is in these numbers.
I used to think the same thing, but it isn't all about about curb weight..... The proof is in the lap times at the Ring, it is Supercar territory.... I would have liked it to be lighter, but GM did a great job on making it work for them. They did a lot of performance additions in beefing this car up and only added 250lbs+/-
@StangBang35 LOL I hope you aren't serious....LOL a G8 is a good car and even better when you get a loaded GXP, but still doesn't even beat a SS. So it has nothing near what a ZL1 would be. Not to mention they are different kinda a cars, one is a 4 door and the other is a 2 door. That is like comparing this to a ZR1 corvette......
@TLSTWIN GXP G8s are just about as fast as an SS camaro, ive seen some tests by magazines and pretty much the same. But he was stupid for saying what he did. ZL1 is an awesome car, and by his name he just sounds like a camaro hater, lol.
I don't hate it, but honestly, every Camaro looks the same, only diff is wheels. I woulda just thought that was an aftermarket hood someone put on their RS or SS...
The same could be said about any car unless you KNOW what is different. The mustang is no different. The whole front fascia, and rocker panels are different from any other model. This car has over 33% new things.... and they are where it matter, power train, drive line, and suspension.
I hate the unpainted under body kit the mustangs have. Looks cheap and unfinished IMO. If this car really does come out at $47k, watch a whole lot of GT500s pop up for sale lol.
MPG will be interesting too. I've read it's been increased 14% on top of what the CTS-V is making.
Chevy's 580 hp are gonna have a hard time keeping up with Ford's 650 hp plus the fact the 2013 GT500 weighs less 200 mph as well
