  • Great quality footage. Yeah, commentary would be nice but still it's awesome...

  • this is a find, and it's confirmed my suspicions - players werent as beefed up in those days; the result is a faster, attacking game...johnny gibbs would disappear up the arse crack of today's players...

  • I was there with my brother. It was the best time I ever had at a Grand Final.

We had great seats in the Ladies Stand. The Roosters made poor old white boots went out in shame

  • Easts actually played better winning 19 points to 4 against Canterbury in 1974: St. George were so pathetic that I estimate they missed 65 tackles in the match - and that may be a conservative estimate. Against Canterbury in the last grayscale broadcast, the Roosters had to work very hard for their tries; against St. George, none of their tries would have been scored against decent tackling and two were dubious anyway

  • Any body remember Rex Mossop, the TV expert predicting the Dragons would win, best team talk Jack Gibson ever needeed.

  • I have been looking for clips of the greatest, Dave Brown, none at all, same for Reg Gasnier also Equal Greatest, same result, all I got was a minute or so of the Awesome Pom Billy Boston. Rugby League needs to get it's shit together, it's disgraceful.

  • Imagine what the score would have been if Mark Harris had played. He'd carved everyone up all year. Could have been 100 - nil.

  • Ha ha. Langlands was high as a kite!

  • Mate any chance of re doing this with the commentary? This song just doesn't match this awesome clip.....

  • sorry mate :( all i've got left is a copy of it with Dire Straits over the top (which got blocked by youtube's copyright checker.

  • I was 8 years old. To this day I can still remember it clearly as if it was yesterday. Now 35 year on They come together to do battle. Up East's.

  • My uncle, travelled up from Canberra to support Easts that day and found that pubs in Sydney didn't mind serving 17 year olds and promptly missed the entire game due to drunkenness. He hates KB Lager to this day.

  • @rashchallenge74 LOL!!!

  • id rather listen to Rex than this shite !!

  • @desireee205 I noticed in the last NRL finals series they played deafening tunes at any chance they could get, a la the NFL. With all due respect to America`s favourite game, I feel it`s a far better atmosphere to just listen to 50/60/70 000 people scream. And with half of them having smuggled a hip flask of bourbon into the ground it really adds to the moment.

  • It was only 5-nil at halftime - why would you leave?

  • The best club side i ever saw that Easts 75 team. What a time for John Rhineberger to play his one and only first grade game

  • I was at this game and left at half time in disgust at my mighty dragons and my legendary hero Changa. It was a sad day for saints fans and Easts were just superb and totally outclassed as...

    Brett Plumridge

  • @brettplum I was only 5 nil at half time! Did you for see that Easts would slaughter those hopeless clowns in the 2nd half!

  • Easts' finest moment. I love this game
