Gloria was the kind of singer I grew up listening to in the 80's and early 90's. Back then music was appreciated for the talent, for the voice behind the song. These days we get crap like Lady Gaga, a glorified version of Boy George except with boobs, and Justin Bieber, nothing more than a homo boy band all rolled into one.
Every time I listen to this song I'm taken back to Market Square in Pittsburgh. A little bar there called Mick McGuires where I met Judy. We became such good friends and helped each other through some hard times. Everyone who saw us together just assumed we would end up together. The time never seemed right for us to take it to the next level. Yet we would sing this song to each other every time we were there together. Even danced to it, tho there was no place to really dance. I miss her so

Gloria was the kind of singer I grew up listening to in the 80's and early 90's. Back then music was appreciated for the talent, for the voice behind the song. These days we get crap like Lady Gaga, a glorified version of Boy George except with boobs, and Justin Bieber, nothing more than a homo boy band all rolled into one.

Every time I listen to this song I'm taken back to Market Square in Pittsburgh. A little bar there called Mick McGuires where I met Judy. We became such good friends and helped each other through some hard times. Everyone who saw us together just assumed we would end up together. The time never seemed right for us to take it to the next level. Yet we would sing this song to each other every time we were there together. Even danced to it, tho there was no place to really dance. I miss her so

@NewWorldRob I heard she and her high school sweetheart found one another and they ended up getting married. Even though I'm married as well I still find myself thinking of her. Sometimes when I'm in town I walk by the places we went to and past the place she works. I keep hoping that one day fate, if there is such a thing, may allow us to find each other again. I keep having dreams about her. We run into each other, we talk but she looks sad. We talk about days gone by and all the fun we had.

@Ovationkck I had actually re-acquainted w/a old love (albeit briefly) and it ended inexplicably the same as I'd dreamed it would (two whole years before it all came-to-past). I Suppose I can take solace it wasn't meant to be. Are you happily married tho? Because that would be icing or atleast "chaser".
It's atot of insanely beautiful women that should be enough to make one forget about any b4 them, but Is It Not a WONDER, the strength of a romantic bond or "emotional" one from the past. Wow..

Sadly, neither of these are my wife. There is the one that this posting started with, Judy. Then there was Mary. I always say she was my dream, I always told my friends that one day I would be dating that girl. Eventually I did. People in our home town called us the perfect couple. Cancer took her.
