If I was a ninja I wouldn't use a sword, too unwieldy and hard to hide.

theyre budget ninjas. the couldnt even afford costumes. swords were the cheapest weapons going. notice theyre exactly the same as the other sides. theres only one swordmaker and hes a very happy man :)
