  • OFC he is sarcastic lol anybody with a working brain could tell with closed eyes

  • This song is sarcastic. Seriously.

If you can't tell, just check out when this guy talks in "Buy your son a gun". I wish we had more like him around today.

  • very sarcastic huh...

  • I think the intended satire went over the heads of quite a few of the commenters.

  • this song is bullshit

    dont be tools

  • VH1 brung me here

  • THE ULTIMATE PROPAGANDA SONG!

  • which album is this included on, if any?

  • I don't know much on the history of this, but is it purposely pointing out how children are brain-washed or is it brain-washing children?

  • I hope you will have your chance in Vietnam after this song, and you will learn it there, that war is "not so good"

  • old songs is best but now justin bieber and everybody came

  • It's a greater injustice to be put in prison for life than to be killed....

  • It's time to stop these unjust wars and get our freedom and privacy back. RON PAUL 2012!

  • this would be a great song for a troll video

  • omg amerikaner sind so dämlich wie sie fett sind. erkennen die keine ironie?

  • @LittleLadySweet passt ja zum lied

  • @LittleLadySweet Krauts are getting pretty fucking fat too. After world war 2 Krautland's scientific, philosophical, and artistic contributions dwindled. My grandfather killed a bunch of you Huns. If you're Austrian none of this applies.

  • everything here is wrong,,,, god bless america... i think he's shaming about USA. so called ''rangers'' kills unarmed family on internet. want world to have peace? why killing osama? does USA have proof on that it was osama thats where behind world trade center? sorry for this but... usa deserved it.

  • @xCronicle Besides Osama admitting he did? No, none at all.

    /Sarcasm.

  • @duckmanham He never actually admitted it. There was a fail translation. We wanted him to take the fall for it.

  • That song is 10000% true. Keep voting for Obama if you believe it...

    If not... RON PAUL 2012!!

  • lol, you fucking idiots that cant understand: it's a satire. wooow. i'd rather die than be as stupid as some of you

  • @sansdeity420

  • I learned in school in Wisconsin today that some teachers are greedy, selfish people who care more about their own personal interests than in teaching me.

I learned that it is okay to lie about a having a sickness if it gets me a chance to go protest in the streets, and that the doctor who corroborates my lie can get away with it too.

    I learned Socialism is bad.

I learned all this because I saw my teacher occupying the State Capitol instead of teaching me. I learned a lot from his absence.

  • This song pretty much sums up everything that's wrong with America

  • @megaton666 true

  • TOTAL. FUCKING. BULLSHIT.

  • @George3901505 To be honest that's the idea of the song, it mocks the way children can be taught lies. It's why this song is so good. It makes me sad to think that the child doesn't really understand the world.

  • @liphttam I know but it just kills me that some people take this seriously..

  • Pete Seeger makes me proud that I live only about 3000 miles from his birthplace. Christ we need artists like this now, as not only are we ruled politically by millionaires,we have our justice decided by how much money we have, our public artistic pleasures, like music, dominated by Corporations. Freedom, my arse.

  • cool

  • Damn this song is really good

    Poetic.

  • @ibporknbean Ya got that one right! Good old Pete don't mess around. Tells it like it was and like it still is. This song woke me up years ago to the racial situation in our country. As a white kid raised in the south (Tennessee, on a military base), I just didn't know what some people we black and we weren't supposed to like them. I thought the dark folks got that way because they'd lived there longer than I had. This song also speaks to Viet Nam. I got that also.

  • nice text ;-)

  • Ну дак ть, песенка что надо))

  • хех.. клевая песенка ))

  • It's really nice that you can enjoy Pete's music no matter who you are. Thanks, poster for showing us that even if you have a different ideology than Pete and Tom, you still appreciate their contributions. We should all be more like that

  • I learned that soldiers seldom die... Unless they're getting shot at.

  • @tobz5050 you missed the point of the song..

  • @Panjojo What is the point of the song?

  • @tobz5050 DUH

  • Great song

  • George Carlin put to music.

  • CööL! Very catchy!

  • Thank you, Tom and thank you, Pete! Love the song/message and love the presentation.

  • It would be nice if they still taught these things in school.

  • @theshadow1932 They do until you get old enough to see through the lies!

  • Reminded me Mr Bai of 416

  • I like this song. Pete rocks.

  • This is one of my favorite songs. An oldie, but sadly, it still rings true.

  • Thanks. Great post.

Modest suggestion: Make clear words and music are by Tom Paxton, but he doesn't perform in this clip.

  • i like that song

  • Out of Iraq and onward to Afghanistan! Time to kill some more arabs. Thankfully we elected the "Peace Candidate" Ha!

  • yeah, he's going to rip the middle east to "peaces" LOL

wow that was corny haha, but very true. obomba 2008 - 3008! peace bombs for everyone!

  • @cassidy1478 what?
