Intellectual property rights aren't very black-and-white, there's a lot of grey area. Plus, some of the coolest ideas ever have never seen the light of day because someone put a copyright on it but never actually made it.

There is a lot of fake drugs out there (mostly sold on the net) Some are just very expensive pills of starch that look like the real thing, others do have chemicals in them that are forbidden for the market in most coutries because of dangerous side effects. So yes, there is "pirated" medicine it can be quite dangerous.

Piracy of electronics, music, and film is a real threat. The more people steal these things, the more money companies loose. In effect, prices are raised, which leads to more piracy, which in turn leads to more higher prices. Everyone looses.
Joke all you want, but If you download or illegally obtain movies, games, or music, you're only contributing to the cycle, not solving it. You may think the entertainment industries won't miss a few bucks, but so do several million other down-loaders.
