Daryl doesn't quite have the range that he used to... He has a much stronger mid-range voice. It's a shame, but that's what smoking does to you. Oh well. He's still a great singer.

@bigtimcny Daryl Hall did smoke for a long time. Don't think he does anymore, but he has admitted to doing so in interviews. And there are lots of older singers who still sound just as good as they did in their 20's. Guys like Sammy Hagar and Robert Plant still have voices that sound just as great as they did 30-40 years ago. It's all a matter of taking care of your voice. Smoking was a bad mistake that Daryl shouldn't have made. That's that.
