  • wwoh is hard.... why nobody hear to jeremy

  • btw do the singer have an accent b/c he sounds kind of unique <3

  • @lovelykdb1 Everyone who speaks any language has an accent.

  • ive been singing this all rong becuz of someone else doin the lyrics

    so thank you

  • The lord is my shepard how they be thy name kindom come

  • how old was jeremy when he killed himself?

  • @93bizza jeremy wade dell was 15 years old.

  • did you have to be so clever when posting this video with that intro?

  • tiene mas calidad que la de VEVO jejeje

  • Strangely enough this is the first time I've seen this video since I was a kid. I didn't know back then what this was about. I only saw this censored version, so I actually thought he killed those classmates that had the blood on them. It's still horrifying to me, but MTV really failed (at least with me) in trying to make it seem less violent.

  • This is such a powerful song..

  • @mellomex85: The salute at 3:30 in the video is meant to correlate to the time that Jeremy blew his brains out. Watch the tail end of the video where it flashes the time of the event just when it's happening. I think it's more likely he was equating the persecution of Jeremy with the persecution in which the Nazis engaged.

  • If you wonna know more about the story behind the song..

    ssshep.com/jeremynew.htm

  • Jeremy Wade Delle [*]

  • pretty good song to smoke to.

  • The best an hero song ever

  • Pearl jam, Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Alice in chains. These are the only four bands that will never be replaced. Grunge was the best music ever invented,

  • @Joey007ist truer words have never been spoken. i'm glad to see you didn't forget soundgarden, most people usually do. check out candlebox they're considered post- grunge, but in my opinion they were as grunge as grunge gets. they're yet another great band to come out of seattle in the 90's. it sounds like you know about grunge so you've probably heard of them. long live grunge!

  • @Joey007ist hell yeah

  • Nirvana will never be replaced, but that's a good thing. It's overrated and sensational, for it's lyricist's suicide, and not much else. Nowadays such a band would be completely ignored as an emo, teen angst band, which it was.

They had one above average song, and that's it, and every single worthwhile song is overplayed to death.

  • @Kanakotka asshole

it was "overrated and sensacional" from wayy before his death. you can say whatever you want, but you can't deny that those 3 guys REALLY had talent.

all good music is ignored now, if you havent noticed, everything that's playing on mtv is garbage

Nirvana was and will always be adored by millions.

  • life suxx and ive been there! trust it will get better m8 just try to find something to enjoy. and smile every so often. it will get better love

  • Every word that this video shows describes how I feel and what is going in my life right now and scares me to think if this is going to be me someday

  • @Playstation2ROCKS get help then m8,

    don't just suffer.

    goodluck.

  • try to erase this from the blackboard.

  • I cry with this song...

  • @1MyGreece me too Dx

  • @YukiKyoHaruLover yes, this song deals with issues that would make anyones eyes water. perhaps its because we can relate with jeremy. loneliness and melancholy are very normal human emotions. what really makes me sad are all the " jeremy's " that go unnoticed, and forgotten. at least jeremy wade delle, was payed tribute to, but what about the " jeremys " whom no one hears about. the poor souls whom, were not strong enough for this life, which can be a cold, dark ,callous place at times. RIP

  • @mellomex85 nobody could have said it any better!!

  • I was just introduced to this song and video today. It's probably one of the most important things I've seen, PERIOD!!

@4:55 pure genius. He throws an apple to the teacher before blowing his brains out. The biggest fuck you of all time. So many kids are crying for help. We should all have bigger ears.

  • @RoyaleWatkins very true m8

  • @4:55 pure genius that he throws an apple to the teacher before blowing his brains out. The biggest fuck you of all time.

  • They freaking own Nirvana any day of the week I don't care what anyone says...Nirvana doesn't have sounds like Jeremy or Black

  • @Vertigo2903 it all boils down to a matter of personal preference. its similar to comparing apples to oranges, though they are different in the sense of taste, they are both fruit. both bands have different styles, yet are both grunge, and share an unbreakable affinity with their fans. though i like both bands, i tend to gravitate towards pj more often. the funny thing is jeremy is not even in my top 10 pj songs. thats how amazing pj sound is. to me, it doesn't get any better than corduroy

  • @mellomex85

yes Kurt was great at writing simple songs that were melodic with decent lyrics but lets get a few things straight: he was a mediore guitar player and not the best singer. Eddie Vedder is a far more powerful singer and Mike Mcready and Go. came up with some great riffs. They were extremely inventive while Nirvana's songs always sounded the same. Smashing Pumpkins and Pearl Jam are more talented bands than Nirvana was. It is very irritating that Nirvana gets all the credit.

  • Wow, I finally got it. This is an masterpiece of american pop culture. I should have read the lyrics 20 years ago. Not only is this monumentally prophetic of the rising teen suicide, the perils of bullying, and Columbine. But the word imagery is far better than I previously knew. I'm kind of astounded right now.

  • Too sadly their are a million Jeremy's.

  • @bleaupearls and even more sad that people steal makes those jeremy's kill them self.

  • I was a todder when music like these came out. Wow I missed out on a lot. but I don't regret that I'm born in later years, because I can listen to music like these due to the technology now.

  • Comment removed

  • @BeyondNeptune I just want to point out that pointing out totally unrelated music on a video's comments is ridiculous. Rush (and Peart in particular) are amazingly talented, but I'm pretty sure they wouldn't advocate their fans talking shit about Pearl Jam. You do them a disservice.

  • GOD I MISS THE 90's.

  • @pimpninja1985 I'm a 90's baby and I miss those days. The commercials, the toys, the music, the tv shows, everything!

  • Poor kid he got bullied around to the point were he couldn't take it anymore.

  • One of the best songs that i've heard, in my whole fucking life.

  • 20 people weren't in Jeremy's class.

  • Eddie, come sooner to MoscoW. We wait you too long!

  • A Very powerful and amazing song

  • its epic , ty uploader ...

  • I killed someone to this...

    :D

  • @mrmoneymaker05 Dude... That's not very funny.

  • @mrmoneymaker05 my dad named me after jeremy delle.

  • This shit always pissed me off. First they edit it where they cut the scene where he turns the gun on himself, then because of that edit it appeared he shot up his class. Then because of the whole colombine ordeal mtv stopped playing this video all together.

  • Christ almighty this is a sad song.

  • I don't see lyrics, thunbs up if you agree!

  • @TheAlexhansen thumbs up if you have absolutely no idea how to spell thumbs!

  • this song/video is closely based on the story of jeremy wade delle, a 16 year old shy, depressed, ignored(his parents were divorced) individual who in 1991 stood in front of his richmond texas high school english class, and proceeded to shove a 357 magnum in his mouth and pull the trigger. eddie vedder is an amazing lyricist, but his genius concepts come through in this video.at approx 3:31 the classmates hail hitler, which is presumably a commentary on the nazi like, US public school systems

  • @mellomex85 good, except, it wasnt richmond, texas. it was richardson, texas. my high school, richardson high school.

  • @wolfhound802 your'e absolutely correct, i dont know what i was thinking. i know there have been major renovations to the school since 91, but what if anything remains the same? were people aware of this tragedy while you were there? rest in peace jeremy

  • @mellomex85 Yes. Strong lyrics and very strong song.

Athought 19 years past, this is still great sad song.

  • @mellomex85 my dad named me jeremy after jeremy delle. and im 16 now..creepy huh?

  • @sonofjimy do you live in texas? that would increase the creepy factor

  • @sonofjimy No.

  • @mellomex85 The salute may well be a reference to the Bellamy Salute (a variation of Roman salute like the Nazi's) that was used for the Pledge of Allegiance in US schools until 1942.

  • @mellomex85 Theres America for you!

  • @TheRealColey not necessarily, i was privileged enough to have received my education from the Massachusetts public school system, in my opinion the best in the country. i'm not sure how they do things in Texas, but if it's in any way similar to Florida's system ( where i live now ), we're in big trouble.

  • @mellomex85 ur right on

  • @mellomex85 nice comment...that's why I hate american schools...with you people there is a visible line between nerds, football guys, cheerleaders and regular normal guys...really lame!!

  • @arfacrew LOL. What school are you talking about?

  • @iSpurtz high school...but my opinion is formed by watching a lot of american movies...hope that's not really true...

  • @arfacrew Not from the one's I've been in..

  • Sad

  • Damn EMO, Im sorry but for me EMO is not a GENRE...

  • In this video, Eddie Vedder looks like a psycho oO

  • I did my English thesis on this song. The essay was a song that affected an era. I remember telling Jeremys story to my class and everyone crying from the original video i showed them where he had the gun in his mouth(before MTV made them edit it out). Its so sad this still happens all the time, a decade later. Bullying. Pearl Jam deserves to be soluted for this song/video and the messge they tried to send out. And for all the other Jeremys out there YOU ARE NOT ALONE!

  • @gg4lyfe1 there is no way you did an ENGLISH THESIS on this song when you spelled "saluted" with a damn 'o'. On a more relevant note, tight song. Bullying however, happens, its a part of life, get over it. A little mental toughness goes a hell of a long way.

  • I dont like the term EMO. We ll for one reason, it has lost its meaning and became a trend. But that stil doesnt change the fact that we shouldnt try to help them. Emos are not the only poeople out there getting hurt. People like how i used to be (im fine now) are also ones to look out for. The quiet keep to themselves. Lend an extra hand. dont be afraid.

  • Someday I will speak JEREMY AS HE DID. THESE "FRIENDS" AND MY FATHER WITH THE REST OF MY FAMILY laments. I'm not what they expected, ALWAYS WAS THE FOOL ... BUT repent and be too late. THIS SOCIETY IS A FUCKING WAST OF TIME.

  • Love this song and they did wonderfal job wit the video i tink

  • omg, I looked it up cause I thought no way this could be true and sat there crying as I read about that poor kid. It just goes to show that you don't know everything that goes on in a persons life or how hard they may have it and it could be your little comment that push them over the edge. It is kinda wrong that they made a song about it.. could you imagine if it was you kid, you wouldn't want to be reminded constantly, then again it also shows people that they should watch what they say and do

  • @XxlingmaoxX i agree about the first part, but i would have to completely disagree about it being wrong to make it into a song. in my personal opinion it opens more peoples eyes to this stuff happening, and it also shows that they cared enough about what happened to put in the time and effort to make it into a song.

  • Ive known quite a few Emos personally. Lots of them actually do have some seriously bad shit going for them usually manic depression and bipolar problems fucked up family lives, rape etc.. i think hating on Emos only spawns more Emos really. even if you hate on Emos that arent really depressed that in turn will just turn them into real Emos.

  • Noshelter15 gotta be a yank living in a trailer park watchin his hooker mom blow every passing salesman for food money

  • @00twanga00

    I don't get what you're saying.

  • This is one of the greatest songs of all time and the music video is pure art.

  • when i first saw this clip i thought the guy shoot the children in class

  • This song and video is deep. I feel like that kid.

  • my mom went that school

  • i really really love this song.. this is beyond perfection, this is more than ever... the song, music, lyrics, thought, vocals and etc..... PERFECT!!

  • story behind the song:ok so jeremy if im corret was 17 he was in highschool he was depressed from being picked on in school he had like one friend but she really wasnt a friend his mom or dad never listened to him,no one did at one point he had enought and was lateto school the teacher told him to get a pass from the office insted he got a gun from his lock,he walked into class stood infrom of ever one and shot himself in the song they say "jeremy spoke in class today" thats what he means

  • @xXthexcrow1Xx he was 15, 1 month before his 16th birthday

  • @WayneM70 mkay iwasnt really sure about his age cuz 3 different ones showed up so thanks

  • this song is perfection

  • WOW NOT REALLY INTO THIS KIND OF MUSIC BUT THIS SONG IS .....DEEP. IM SURPRISED ITS NOT BANNED THO (IF IT IS IM SORRY, I DIDNT KNO ABOUT THIS SONG UNTIL YESTERDAY)

  • Anyone notice at 3:59-4:14 eddie vedder turned into an owl? That owl sure can hoot :)

  • Perfect.

  • What happened to sticking on a tune that means something to you, and getting lost in that memory, while listening to it? Instead of starting some stupid insignificant slagging match. Why not just listen to the song that you took the time to look up and enjoy it.

  • i cryed at dis i felt sorry for him :'(

  • 15 people in this world are brainless

  • @shirleymanson09

    Idiots

  • @shirleymanson09 Or heartless.

  • @shirleymanson09 much more! Welcome to MoscoW.

  • best song

  • Today's music(pop) its only about SEX PARTIES AND LOVE.they dont care about society.JEREMY THE WICKED R.I.P.

  • King Jeremy the Wick-ed

  • first time i saw this, i cried... and i don't cry.

  • Man.. this song makes me appreciate the 90s. I doubt there was any other time in music where a song about a boy who kills himself in front of his class would be this amazing and understandable. But it was Pearl Jam so I guess I shouldn't be surprised.

  • makes me wanna suicide

  • Jeremy Has Spoken.

  • Vedder said "It came from a small paragraph in a paper which means u kill yourself and you make a big old sacrifice and try to get ur revenge. That all ur gonna end up with is a paragraph in a newspaper. 63 degrees & cloudy in a suburban neighborhood. Thats the beginning of the video and thats the same thing is that in the end, it does nothing. nothing changes. The world goes on and ur gone. The best revenge is to live on and prove urself. Be stronger than those people. And then u can come back

  • @akhimakhi93 I NEEDED TO HEAR THAT FOR SOME STRANGE REASON BUT I LIKE IT AND YOU ARE RIGHT PEACE !

  • @akhimakhi93 He didnt kill himself for revenge. He killed himself because he hated life. And he didnt end up with just a paragraph in the newspaper. I bet all the people in those classrooms learned a very valuable lesson. The kid got bullied alot, I bet they stopped.

  • is there two video clips of this song?

  • @pratamen yes, this is the official one that won 5 MTV Awards in 1992, while the other was the first one, that wasn't accepted by the record company.

  • This song blows goats.

  • @Luttenegger15234 your mother blows goats

  • @reer69

She learned it from your mom. hahaha. hohoho. heeheehee

  • This was a terrible thing that happened

  • kd a merda da letra, meu sacanagem fazer isso,ou poe letra ou naum escreve com letra, merda

  • @marcosrx13 a letra está na info e não no clip

  • This song is fucking amazing, people are so fucking stereotypical these days. Fucking society..Teens who really are depressed are labeled as angsty or emo and nobody gives a shit. Bullying continues because of stupid teachers and radical thinking isn't allowed at schools (at least here in my home country) Follow the standards and obey the norm or face trouble.

No free speech at all. Fuck this society

  • @NoShelter15 man im sooo with you

  • @NoShelter15 so automatically think im an american redneck.

    1. not american.

    2. obama for the win.

All you are doing is making generalisations. All im trying to say (should have said it in such a bold way though) is that youre just complaining about society on youtube when you should do something about it.

  • @LuKeYoWnS

Yeah, I should, but the thing is, I'm young and I do not have enough confidence.

  • @LuKeYoWnS

Well, I didn't say you're American. But so what if you were?

Second, I think there were three better candidates for the presidency of the US (Rand Paul, Ron Paul, Peter Schiff) than any other, including Obama.

Americans do not need dems & reps, they need the third party.

  • @NoShelter15 fair point.

  • @NoShelter15 That's ironic. You say that ALL people* are so stereotypical... and that they ALL think this, and that ALL the teachers are stupid and that free speech is suppressed, and that you should "Fuck society". Sounds to me like you are one who generalises; you are one who stereotypes. Why should people care about your problems? How you got 40 thumbs up, I have no idea. I guess your comment resonates with the other selfish folks on here who believe the world owes them a favour for nothing.

  • @Zzulu1one9niner

You're right, I did generalise. But over here in Finland, if a group or an individual tried to make a difference by demonstrating (say, riots & spreading fliers about the condition of our society), the police will be there & so will be the stereotypical people. In my country, most of the politicians are a bunch of idiots. Even us people have better ideas than them. Isn't that how it is in every country? The people have better ideas than the deciders.

  • @Zzulu1one9niner

I'm not selfish by any means. I just want the world to be a better place, that's all. I want to help people with others, once I grow up a bit. Maybe my 40 thumb comment was a bit harsh, should've said it in a more rational way.

I've always been worried about my family & my friends since I had a troublesome childhood. I started to worry too much about things I shouldn't worry about. But I think everyone should be worried about our society. And do something and show the way.

  • @NoShelter15 Everybody is inherently selfish, to varying degrees.

It is an amicable goal to make the world better for sure, but one has to realise; better for who? Everyone has a different ideas, not necessarily better than each others', just different. It's easy to criticise politicians, but put in their position; you might find it hard to achieve your goals whilst satisfying others'. I can tell you for sure though, they aren't idiots. For better or for worse, they know what they are doing.

  • @NoShelter15 Although I might add; it's definitely true that there are, and almost universally accepted as, "bad" politicians. They have power and they have money; in that position, it is hard to resist being "corrupted" so to speak. I guess it's hard to empathise, but in their position; when you can get away with giving yourself more than you deserve, one can easily find themselves unable to resist the temptation. I'm not sure I would be able to resist as easily as I say I could.

  • @NoShelter15 COMPLETELY AGREED DUDE...wich city are u from?

  • @NoShelter15 AMEN!!!!

  • @NoShelter15 been there...bro

  • @NoShelter15 The people who are depressed are not labeled as "emos". The people who try to show it and act like it on purpose, wear all black, even mascara if you are a guy are emos.

  • @whitehiliter

    Yes they are.

  • @NoShelter15 emo aren't depresive they are just a bunch of shit

  • Emos are not depressive, they are supposed to be "emotional", but they only want to appeal the attention.

  • @NoShelter15

man i really LIKE you're thinking

today society is all about how you can survive

it doesn't matter if you're hurt they'll step over you

today society is like a monster, we need to make music like this again

  • @NoShelter15 Teens who really are depressed are fucking faggots who deserve to die if they commit suicide. You only get one life, if a little bit of bullying makes you want to end it then you're an asshat.

  • Comment removed

  • @NoShelter15 That isn't ironic, it would be ironic if I had commited suicide. Learn the definition of words before you try to use them. Also no, I'm not a bully, I don't pick on people but the people who kill themselves over it disgust me. Heaven isn't real either, do you believe in the tooth fairy too? Even if it were real, the fags who kill themselves wouldn't get in because suicide is apparently a mortal sin.

  • Comment removed

  • @NoShelter15 I sure as fuck wouldn't kill myself, also suicide isn't a definite outcome, therefore that equation isn't valid.

"We" don't "need" to do anything, you want other people to do what you want. Fag doesn't just mean homo, it has developed other meanings, just like the word "gay".

Power and reasoning aren't the same thing, you call these people unstable, maybe you should get yourself checked out. Believing in fairytales can't be healthy.

    You're pathetic.

  • @Tammc09

Oh excuse me. I may be young, but I'm sick of seeing homeless people on the streets. I am going to do something about it when I'm older. And we DO NEED TO give homeless people jobs and homes, proper health care. We need to help bullied people. Our so called leaders are just after profit.

You may continue calling christianity a fairytale, because I really don't care what you say about it. People have beliefs, deal with it. You're calling out the 4 billion mentally unstable. Hahah

  • @NoShelter15 You don't seem to understand the difference between need and want. Needs are something people must have in order to live a healthy life, my life and the rest of our lives are perfectly healthy without helping people. They may need shelter, but we don't need to give them it.

So your only basis of believing in a magical fairy wizard in the sky is the fact that 2 billion others do to? Even with no reasonable or logical basis for your belief? That's pretty stupid.(Cont)

  • @Tammc09

That sky wizard told a friend of my father's who had a liver cancer to continue spreading the word about that sky wizard.

People like you, who only care about themselves, are the reason why famine exists. Enjoy your food.. when there are millions of people who live with about 1£ a day. Or less.

  • @NoShelter15 Your fathers friend should see a psychiatrist, audio/video hallucinations are signs of schizophrenia. He was probably just high on pain meds. There is no such thing as a god, the earth is billions of years old. Evolution is a fact. The universe is larger than your ignorant litle mind can comprehend, and you think we are special.

I don't only care about myself, I have friends and family who I care about very much. What I don't care about is some starving African. I'll enjoy my food.

  • @Tammc09 Oh well whatever suits yourself. And no he wasn't. And that cancer was gone.

  • @NoShelter15 He wasn't what?

  • @Tammc09

He wasn't on pain meds...that guy has played with Deep Purple (he is known amongst Nordic old school rockers), drank lots of alcohol, got liver cancer..but the cancer was miraculously gone after he SAW Jesus Christ himself. Now he tours the States talking about christianity. Helps autistic children.

    Tell me that ain't special.

    I believe, you don't. That's cool OK?

  • @NoShelter15 Do you have any evidence of this happening? Right now all you are is a lunatic on the internet making up stories about a zombie. There are plenty of plausible explanations for that. It could have been a misdiagnosis coupled with an LSD flashback or any number of reasonable explanations. Instead you choose to believe that the zombie son of a sky fairy appeared to someone with liver cancer and cured him. (Cont)

  • @Tammc09

It is clear that you have not read the Bible at all. Read it sometime. I've decided to leave the hostility behind, but you haven't.

    Have a nice life
