  • Hey, when I open virtual dub and go to capture mode, nothing shows up in my window. I have it set on decklink video capture and I have tried every video format available. Any reason why this would happen?

  • you do know u can record in 1080 not just 720... looks so much better

  • How big is the file for this? Are you compressing it at all?

  • @bosoxdanc1 yes I compress the raw video, but it is still heavy

  • So with this can I play/watch and record in VirtualDub?

  • @CrackahJackJoe yes sir

  • @JCVandame what is tour pc specs?

  • I've got some nice Quality have a look

  • My Intensity Pro is working but because of my slow processor I lose frames while recording with Media Express. I'm trying to record with VirtualDub instead but when I start capture mode my Intensity Pro doesn't show up under the "Devices" Tab. Did you have this problem and do you know how to fix it?

  • @6Twisted in the virtualdub device tab, the intensity pro is shown as "decklink video capture (direct show)". and no, I don't hhave the same problem as you

  • @JCVandame Thanks for the reply, I can see the Decklink under "Devices" but it's a black screen and when I select it the Intensity stops outputting to my TV...

  • @6Twisted after selecting the device, you must go to "video" > "capture filter" then choose your video format

  • Well, it's not in HD. 640x480 is the highest resolution you have recorded this Video in.

  • strange you say you can't use HDMI because of hdcp protection... sony said games do not use hdcp, only the movies because they want people to show off the their skills and of course the PS3.

This is most likely something blackmagic designs did not incorporate into the design.

  • @ProjectVRD The PS3 outputs an HDCP protected signal over HDMI, whether playing a game or watching a movie. The only way to capture PS3 footage via HDMI is to use a dev kit with HDCP disabled. The problem's not on the Blackmagic end, as the 360 can be captured using HDMI easily.

  • @ROracheski Yes, it is black magics error. The AverTV card can capture the ps3 via hdmi.

    HDMI = Xbox360

    YUV + optique= PS3

    YUV + audio L&R= Wii

est-ce que tout marcherait correctement et que je n'aurais plus qu'à choisir mon entrée vidéo au moment de l'enregistrement?

  • I gotta say. The price may be steep but looking at this... Really changes your miundset

  • wow the quality is great!!!

  • This game is great but the aiming is like shit

  • I can't get mine to work? Won't show a picture.

  • can i play my games in 1080p while recording in 720p? PLZ REPLY!

  • @xxTechxxx hem...no !

  • @xxTechxxx Yes

  • yes but it will automactly go o 1080p

  • can this work with xbox 360? if i am using hdmi?

  • can you watch 1080p and record 720p? plz reply

  • Black magic intensity pro must be used on desktop. If you want to record with a laptop use a dazzle. It has decent quality and it's not that expensive!

  • also with a laptop u can use the Hauppauge HD PVR High Definition Personal Video Recorder for HD =)

  • please dont even mention dazzle. its terrible you have to play in SD. with composite cables. its not worth it. try a HAVA product they are wonderful

  • Yea it does suck...I didn't know about other capture devices after I bought a dazzle lol.

  • dude i made the same mistake lol

i hated playing in Standard but then the driver crashed and they wouldnt help me at all. so i took it backk and got a hava HD wireless

  • Haha... That sucks.... I gotta try a hava. Thanks for telling me.

  • yeah dude no problem. once it comes in on tuesday ill start posting videos up.

  • Cool I'll check them out

  • @homerstabinbart

You own a Hava? Mate, I got this capture card and I play my games in HD, and I can tell you I don't like the quality at all. It just deteriorates over time spent recording, the quality is unstable, recording from a game played online also deteriorates the quality, it doesn't record in HD...

It just pisses me off :(

Do you have any advice on how to make quality better?

  • Black magic can record HD and 1080p which is way better then dazzle by a long shot. I have all the dazzles and a few other caption cards but black magic is the best out of them all.

  • can u record ur pc just through the vga cables?

  • @fanofnufc Theres programs to record your pc. This is for recording your tv or xbox. Consols pretty much. I never used this to record PC

  • can someone tell me a video how to set this up tho the ps3 and computer to record plz!!!!

  • Whoa very nice.

I already order and will get this week, good news the price have go down about 1 years too expensive.

  • does it come with everything you need? Like are you able to set it up straight out of the box or do you need to buy other stuff?

  • Straight out of the box. You need a desktop computer, no laptops.

  • cool thanks

  • you need to get 2 hdmi cables, but other then that yes

  • So you NEED a dedicated hard drive for this thing? Can you clear this up? Everywhere i read says dedicated hard drive. What if i want to just use it to play on my desktop and not record as much, or live stream?

  • dedicated harddrive only for recording man ! you can play on you desktop without one. for livestream, I don't know ...

  • Thank you for the quick reply. one more question. if i plug my console into the card and have it display on my computer, and have an HDMI running from the OUTPUT to the HDTV at the same time, do i get picture on both?

  • you cannot use hdmi to plug-in your console into the intensity pro, because of hdcp protection. you must a yuv cable. but for the output o hdtv via hdmi.......well......I don't know ! just try by yourself ! if it doesn't work, just use a second yuv cable for the output too

  • can i just hook this thing up to my computer or what ever i do then just redord off my ps3 then it will show up on my computer as a video file ready to watch or upload to youtube

  • does it work on windows xp?

  • xp, vista, 7.......it works !

  • That's pretty good quality.

  • There's a lot of artefacts
