  • In World War II everyone would have known of Bing Crosby and Bob Hope.

  • Brilliant!

  • Great campy fun! (no pun intended). Yes, HH's cast is performing for Der Bingle (their boss) but it is common knowledge and well into the script. Robert Clary left me in stitches; and Bob Crane hoisting him off the stage was funny. These guys were having fun to the max and not letting their egos get in the way. John Banner & W. Klemperer are outrageous! Fun stuff for people who remember the era. Thanks for posting. Peace. bear.

  • Over the years, there have been alot of movies made based on old tv series. I wish a good, dramatic, suspenceful, and even funny ( without a laugh track) movie could be made about Hogan's Heroes!

  • Yes, and almost all the remakes have failed. Or are so far from the original premise that they dont even resemble the original. Lets hope they dont ruin Hogan's Heroes with another failed attempt.

  • What a cute show, with all the pack meeting The Boss!!

  • Again, this IS superior TV!! to have the cast and its studio producer-actor Bing

    Crosby,hosting HOLLYWOOD PALACE on ABC,from a CBS series,that made

quite a mark on the Tifany network,is RARE!! not suprising, since Bing Crosby

Productions was responsible for another hit ABC series-"BEN CASEY",also

    shot at Desilu Studios.

  • What a rare suprise. The cool cast from Hogan's Heroes appears on The Hollywood Palace. a classic show from BCP productions the studio owned by.. Der Bingle himself. Both Col.Klink & SGT.Schultz are extremely funny.

  • does john banner say he arrests them on behalf of the vienna boys choir

  • Very nice. I liked the show and finding this video was a surprise. Thanks for the post.

  • Nazi uniforms on a variety show?

  • I'll bet you Hogan boinked a dancer backstage after this.

  • ; A typical Christmas at the Rich Lott home. Catch the reference to the 'delousing station', and the fact the 'holocaust' is never mentioned in 'Hogan's Heroes' comedy series? That would make 'Hogan's Heroes' 'holocaust deniers'.

    Cheers!

  • Still the best show ever. Hogan's Heroes was greater than any other comedy series I can even IMAGINE. It just had three faults:

    -Ivan Dixon quit

    -Inconsistent character backstories

-It was cancelled after only six seasons

Other than that, I can firmly say that there has never been a better comedy show, and I extremely doubt there ever will be. Thanks for the video. :D

  • @Arkatox Ivan went on to become a successful producer. There just wasn't enough for him to do on HH, so he left. The cast did miss him very much and the new guy, though they liked him too, never really fit in.

I agree with you 100% about the inconsistent character back stories. All shows airing on CBS in the early 70s were canceled by the brass no matter what the ratings were.

  • @liarsclub75 The least they could've done is have an episode where Kinch escaped, so that they could explain why Baker replaced him. And an episode at the end that either ended WW2 or forced the HH crew to escape because the Gestapo caught on or something. Really, present-day series do that, why couldn't they do that for Hogan's Heroes?

  • @Arkatox Absolutely right. It was very lazy on the studio's part not to at least write Kinch out. Even a TV movie like they did with Gilligan's Island (they would have needed financial backing though) to close the show properly.

In the 70s, there was a plan for a TV show that was supposed to be a continuation of HH, where the main character's children were involved with the cold war. Larry Hovis started writing for it, but the project was scrapped after Bob Crane's murder.

  • @Arkatox Yeah, if you look at the news reels the Germans had a lot o black guys manning checkpoints. Those episodes mad me laugh

  • @28if I don't really remember that, even though I've watched every episode a minimum of 20 times. :)

  • What a great clip. Thanks for sharing.

  • Thanks for posting this, I have never seen this piece. It is too bad that this never made the extra features on the dvd set.

  • Gottta be one of the earliest "We're not worthy" moments with "LeBeau"!

  • Andy Devine reference!

  • that was awesome! thx for sharing this classic

  • too bad the guys didn't sing...

  • good stuff_keep posting please and thanx

  • Bravo!! Los heroes de Hogan era una de mis series favoritas de los sesenta, esta visita a Hollywood Palace es sensacional.Gracias por subirlo a youtube!!!

  • What a bizarre skit! Schultz saves the day referring to Bing Crosby as "Der Bingle"!.

  • Wow, this one brings back memories!

  • Great show

  • That was a hoot! Thanks for posting this!

  • oh man

  • is there more of that?? and were can i find a vid o Richard Dawson singing?

  • This is great stuff. You have to wonder, how did Bing get involved in owning Hogan's ??

  • Bing Crosby produced the show from the beginning.

  • That was an awesome video...Hogan's Heroes is one of the best shows ever!

  • Good stuff!

  • I agree, no movie of "Hogan's Heroes"! It was a great show; let's leave it in our precious memories. Since all the primary actors are deceased except for Robert Clary & Richard Dawson, it just wouldn't be the same. Besides, has any movie of a 60's TV show ever been successful?

  • yeah!!!!! it is so cool!!!!!

  • Some one should make a Movie of Hogans Heroes.

  • no they shouldnt. it just wouldnt be the same without all of the actual actors who played em.

  • NO WAY! IT WOULDNT BE THE SAME! Bob Crane, Ivan Dixon, and Larry Hovis gotta b in there! and Richard Dawson and Robert Clary

  • absolutley genius! hogans heroes is a terriffic show!

  • Man i smilied the whole time!!!! SO funny! No other show can be as clean, funny, and just so great!

Man, when i get older, i wanna make more of these, just like them! Whos with me?

    dummkopf

  • natural talent, pure, clean, live and funny. a great time for TV, compared to todays in your face TV, stands miles above.

  • hahaha

    such a funny cast

there will never be a great show like this

  • One of the greatest sitcoms ever.

  • Thank you for this clip. It is priceless. I'm surprised that this did not make any of the DVD sets as an added bonus. By the way, did Hogan's Heroes ever have an extensive blooper reel? (longer than the brief bloopers featured on one of the DVD sets) Would love to see 20-30 minutes of outtakes.

  • I don't know about any blooper reel. I guess just the stuff on the DVDs. Larry never mentioned anything about it but them again he didn't know about the Laugh- In blooper tape.

  • Shultz is the best!

  • Bceause Bing's production company produced "HOGAN'S HEROES", he wanted the cast to appear with him on his annual Christmas show, telecast on December 25, 1965. I'm sure ABC objected to plugging a rival network's "Top 10" comedy show {especially when "HOGAN", on CBS, was delivering the cancellation blow to ABC's "THE ADDAMS FAMILY" on Friday nights}, but Crosby insisted, and they let him do it, because he hosted the "PALACE" more than any other guest host, and ABC NEEDED him.

  • I was wondering about that.

And, of course, how the tunnel managed to allow the Heroes to travel forward in time 20+ years, let alone across/under the Atlantic Ocean. (Bugs Bunny has NOTHING on these guys.) But, I guess if Col. Klink can travel to 1966 GOTHAM CITY -- this would be cake by comparison.

  • I guess in the Hogans Heroes universe the time/space continuum MEANS NUTZING!!!

  • Schultz looks kinda thin here.

  • Love this! I'm laughing so hard!

  • thank you thank you thank you!! That was awesome!!

  • That was awesome... Thank you for posting this... I love Hogan's Heroes...own the entire series on DVD...in fact I have been re-watching them lately... Now that show was great/funny entertainment... David

  • Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Forget Kinch's radio in the ice bucket, I wanna know where Hogan's guys hid the time machine that allowed them to travel 20 years into the future!

  • Great to find this - verry interesting.

  • Awesone. Mitici gli eroi di Hogan. Li guardavo sempre da piccolo, e li guardo ancora

  • Great one-never saw this one before..many thanks for posting this!

  • wow great stuff!cheers

  • This is absolutely amazing! Thanks for sharing. Where did you get this?

  • Someone one sent it to me a few years ago. Glad you enjoyed it!

  • Where would we be without Klink and Schultz?

    Lovin' it!

  • wow! a very classic piece of video.. But, Hollywood Palace was on ABC (I checked with the Brooks and Marsh prime time directory to make sure).. I guess Crosby pulled rank since his company produced Hogan's Heroes and they wanted him to do Palace.

  • this is great! thanks..

  • Hey... are they using BOTH a live audience AND a laugh track?

  • Not sure but wouldn't be surprised if they were.

  • This is great! Thank you!

  • I posted before the end of the video. I loved the end! Hogan picked up LeBeau! lol
