Submerge shaving brush in a mug of hot water. After washing your face with warm water,massage pre-shave cream until it is absorbed. Place a hot face cloth on your face for a couple of minutes,follow with shaving cream using brush. Proceed to shave,repeat one more time from placing the hot face cloth on to your face for a couple of minutes,follow with shaving cream. After completing the 2nd shave,wash face with cold water,towel dry and apply pro-shave cream.

Get a really close shave by using a Double Edged Safety Razor Blade with a good quality razor, e.g., Merkur or Parker types.

Use a pre-shave oil after wetting your face. Use a shaving brush. It is essential to use a good quality shaving cream like Proraso or Trumper. The Trumper cream might appear to be expensive but a little goes a long way and produces a terrific creamy foam. Don't press down too hard on the razor. Take your time, relax and watch out for under your nose and chin. Enjoy !

For starters: Shave AFTER or during a shower, most likely after since it's too hard to shave in the shower. If you can't shower. Splash your beard with hot water for 5 mins w/or wo a cloth or small towel.

Cyril R Salter, Cella, D.R. Harris (tube) and Trumper (tube). The sky is the limit on shaving creams.

Second, folks should be using whatever razor and blade gives them the best shave, and what they enjoy most using. I prefer a DE personally, but am not hung up on using it all the time.

The reason his skin is still gray is because you can always see facial hair, even if it is below the pores, because of its color and thickness. My beard is blonde so you can't see it after it's been shaved, but dark hair is pretty easy to see, especially on lighter skin.

That is Omega badger brush, also made in Italy. Proraso products used to be sold in Target stores, but no longer. All of the Proraso products can be found on the web and sold by most, if not all, wet shaving retailers. Bath and Body Works carries CO Bigelow shaving cream in a tube that is made by Proraso.  It's the exact same cream the gentleman is using in this video, just repackaged and sold in the US. Hope that helps.

Your face is moist after a shower, in good shape for shaving. Also, you're supposed to wash with cold water after shaving to close the pores. Getting a shower after shaving will just open the pores again.

u should shave after a hot shower because u should get ur face hot. if not a shower use hold a cloth with hot water to ue face for minutes, or just splash some hot water. after the shave rinse ur face wid cold water everywhere before apllying after shave.

Showering first allows the beard to soften. Not only does this provide a more comfortable shave, but it will save you from buying more of those expensive Mach 3/Fusion razor cartridges. How does this save money? If your beard isn't prepared properly, this will dull your blade much sooner, causing you to change it more often.
