@vivitar45 Was it a tire? Can't recall last tire blowout in F1 (apart from Vettel). Usually it's only a (slow) puncture. It was brake failure. You can see it smoking just before it exploded and shrapnel cut the tire.

Look at the speed that right/rim/tyre went agaisnt the cockpit. From there we may imagine the strenght involving Senna´s crash back in the day... No chance at all.Unfortunatly. I believe to make sure they were fine. We had already F1 crashes, were drivers gets leg injuries. You can have suspension debris getting inside the cockpit. It has already happened, Remember when Panis broke his legs in a crash like this at Canada 1997? Ralf Shumacher also had already a crash were he injured his legs (cant remember when tought...).
