@knobylob i know that but its just what i have been taught in my pagan beleifs and it just got me confused i worded it wrongly it looks like i was telling her but rely i was meaning to ask isnt samhain newyear i never ment to sound mean blessed be )O(
@Italkem Do a bit of research and you will find that Jesus was actually born in the Spring time. Shepherds were in their fields when he was born. In the land where he was born during the winter months they bring in the flocks in November and take them out again in March. The Winter Solstice is a Pagan Holiday but the church adopted it as their own when the folks who practiced the Old Ways and the Old Religion wouldn't bend to the will of thier priests.
I LOVE IT I LOVE IT I LOVE IT..... This is my first YULE EVER! ....and.....I have/had no idea what I was/am doing lmao. So... I love your videos because you give me a down to Earth perspective on what I'm doing in a way that I can relate and feel welcome doing! I still don't really know what the hard core tradition of Yule is and I'm looking for it right now actually but thank you for your videos again...I love them :) lmao
Just browsing around the net for inspiration and new & alternative ideas for this Yule, and was captured by your magnetic enthusiasm. Thanks muchly for that, I'm off now to the seaside to write in the cold (well, cafe!) before presenting to our moot this evening!!
all these are great crafts and ideas! i would love to try out some. i like your "sunny" (haha, pun intended!!) outlook! :) but usually i have to keep things low key due to hubby being a solstice baby.
In a way, your "Spell Stars" are similar to Krazyboytx's offering stones because they are made of biodegradable ingredients (applesauce and cinnamon, if I remember correctly). Wonderful video, thank you.
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh I can't wait! Thank you so much for this video, me and my family are going to have so much fun doing these activities and of course I will make a video of us for ya :)
Wonderful ideas Flora! 8D I'm going to see if I can incorporate some of these into my family's celebrations as they are not religious, but I am. (Plus, I'm only 14. XD)
Blessed Be!
(Random fact: My birthday is on Christmas day! Yay!)
awesome thanks so much! Yule is my FAVORITE SABBAT!!!!! I truly love everything you do and how organized you are with your practice! I love consistency!
i enjoyed the video! as i was watching it, and i saw everything set up just so, i thought to myself, "You know, I bet she has an absolute blast setting all this stuff up and preparing for her video." :D
Yay! This is great! I can't wait to do a video to update on some of my Yule ideas! Thank you so much Flora for more suggestions! I will def. be checking out the pagan carols site and I love the spell bag idea! :D
Hey Flora i love your videos, but in Egypt the birthday is for Osiris not Ra, Ra is the sun God, he doesnt die, he changes throughout the day but he is not born nor does he die. Osiris however is a reborn God, he was murdered and dismembered by his brother Set and was found and put back together by his sister/wife ISIS, on or close to December 25th on the julian calender. after his resotration he became the God of the Underworld. Ra "dies" at sunset and travels through the underworld ....
Funny story: a few years ago we had a squirrel in our yard with a nub of a tail whom we called "Stubby". We think the poor thing was kind of "special"... *sigh* Anyway, one Autumn he was busy burying nuts when he just laid a walnut on the ground, covered it with a leaf, patted it down, and took off. Immediately, another squirrel came along and snatched it up! We stopped seeing him that next year, but we still think about him each Autumn when the squirrels are busy! We kind of miss him.
Hey, I just wanted to say that I love your videos and I also wanted to let you know that you should check out Tori Amos' new album Midwinter Graces. It is here new seasonal album, but it is pagan themed. For me it is really wierd being a pagan around this time of year and hearing nothing but carols about baby jesus so hearing this new album has really incouraged and inspired me spiritually. Just thought I would let you know about it and thanks again for all the great videos!
im kinda confused... so this year yule/ winter solstice is on the 22 are we supposed to wait up on the 21 to 22 or 22 to 23
PLEASE HELP ANYBODY I AM VERY DESPERATE TO KNOW BEFORE YULE PLEASEEEEEEEEEE!

I had a good Yule 2010. Imbolc was special :) The energy was so nice and I wish it was snowy so I could go out and draw the Sun in the snow. haha

Where is Jesus in all of this, you're worshiping the sun? is it a Christian or secular celebration?
Think about it!
