You'll love it! I joined CAP last year and I have had a blast so far, you learn so much. There is Emergency Services which is my favorite. You can participate in search and rescuse excercises within your squadron and with local National Guard unites. Then there is areospace education, which is not as exciting to me but you do learn a lot. And then there is moral leadership which can be cool. Plus you get to meet some pretty awesome people and do things that normal kids cant.

  • @CivilAirPatrolColab

thats sounds like a great idea! I could always use some drill tutorials :)

  • I believe its 1948 that CAP became the AUX of the USAF

  • shouldnt*

  • This program has something for everyone, but that doesnt mean it fits everyone. Ive enjoyed 6 years with Civil Air Patrol, and ended my Cadet Career as a c/LTC. Now im going through training to be a PJ with the Air Force, and Im glad for what I've done. No its not the real thing as the millitary, but its not supposed to be. Its a serviced based volunteer program. The advantage is what they do. If its not for you, dont join, but you should get in the way of people who could get a lot out of this.

  • @GamerM13 Its actually abbreviated Lt. Col. in CAP

  • @4Xjoker it is when you write it out, or as a senior member. but as a cadet, the shorthand was (and i think still is) c/LTC, just as cadet airman was c/AMN, or staff sergeant was c/SS or c/SSgt,

I was just trying to conserve letters *shrug* :)

  • @MrMDMA101

I doubt your a marine, I'd hope to think an "active duty marine" who has done "5" combat tours, deployed "4" times and the education you claimed to have would have better things to do than get on youtube and insult the auxillary of another branch. I could start insulting you by calling you a stupid impostor or a disgrace to the marine corps, but I'll simply prove that C.A.P cadets are taught better than that with this.

Please, shut the fuck up. Thank you

    <- C/Tsgt

  • Cival Air Patrol is amazing, i showed this video to my class and i got 3 new recruts for C.A.P

  • For those of you ragging on this video (whether you're in the military or not) this program has prvided me with 4 scholarships to a college of my choice as well as attending outstanding leadership academies. This program teaches discipline, leadership, and integrity. It also teaches you how to be humble (which I do not see from the "real" soldiers commenting on this video). This program lets you enter the military as an officer so for those of you saying it's nothing like military.. THINK AGAIN.

  • @riflethrower Actually it doesn't let you join as a Officer, its not a Officer Canadiate program you stilly civilian, its a auxillary of the Air Force, not the Air Force Acadamey. So no you are wrong about that my friend. You are one to talk about being humble, never getting sent to hell holes, all of us Marines and Soldiers can talk SHIT becasue we have BEEN in the shit. So don't act all supieror when you have yet to make IT into the Actual military.

  • @MrMDMA101 I see we are always dissing other forces of the U.S., Marine. I personally favor the U.S. Marine Corps, next to the U.S. Air Force, but I respect all other branches as well--all fighting for a common purpose. Sadly, I expected more professionalism from a Marine--a member of the finest fighting force in the world. The only thing I'll pardon is your spelling and grammar. Civil Air Patrol may be comprised of civilians, but we earn nothing except for a simple "Thank You."

  • It's a Awesome program. I recommend it to anyone who wants to be in the Military.

    <-- C/A1C!

  • @ghostliner45 No you reccomend it becasue so that way your not the only fagget in it who gets a high n tight wannabe military look. When half you CAP fuckers who shit your pants as soon as bullet whizzes past your little twat kissing heads.

  • @MrMDMA101 Are you a Marine, or a shit talking kid? If you're a Marine, then act like it!

  • Hello cap. I wanna play a game.

  • CAP is active in search and rescue. The insults below are stupid.

  • Transformers theme song XD it's called "the score"

  • The chicken man... It came from the trees man...

  • please dont list ur name or squadron on here it makes u look like a tool

  • What music did you use?

  • My squadron is my Band of Brothers. I would never let them down!!!!

  • I plan on joining the CAP... Any advice?

I'm 13, turning 14 on the 30th of this month.

  • @Erkutanuva I just joined, and a month and a half later i fell in love. As far as advise goes, you only get out of the CAP what you put into it. Thats the main thing, and next, whenever possible, go to squadron events and missions, even if they seem boring to you. Your flight command will be impressed with you sucking it up, and doing what has to be done. thats what i got for you.

  • @BEASTsatisfaction Thanks for the advice. i plan on going to a meeting tomorrow to apply. Now I can brag to my friend in Sea Cadets XD Thanks from Idaho!

  • @Erkutanuva Civil Air Patrol is what you make of it. Only you decide your future in the program. Like a wise Lieutenant once told me, "do what ever you can in CAP because the more you do the more exciting it gets" hope this helped, good luck.

and now I am a STAFF Sgt.

  • Excellent video! I'm glad to see CAP is still alive and well. I was a cadet from 1978-82 and made life long friends as a result. I learned a lot about service to the community and self discipline that I have carried with me all of my life.

  • @BlakBraces Was it fun because i am 14 now and gonna join

  • @razgrizraven It's probably because while we're an auxiliary of the Air Force the marine corps has the young marines, so there is some competitive nature. In fact, my squadron just recruited a young marine and they have a whole different point of view than us. It all depends on perspective.

  • @MrSolracable Why on Earth would it make you feel like that? You should feel proud to be serving your country. And yes, you are serving your country in C.A.P. through emergency services. Never regret your service in the Civil Air Patrol. Stand tall and be proud, for you represent the Civil Air Patrol, the United States Air Force, our great nation, and all those who died defending it.

  • @MrSolracable Well, since you’re complaining on the internet, I can believe that ;)

  • @Vanadell191im just saying i like the program, just not the environment that surrounds it around 75%-90% of the time i wish something could be done about it but there isn't

  • The CAP coastal patrol flew 24 million miles, found 173 submarines, attacked 57, hit 10 and sank two. By Presidential Executive Order, CAP became an auxiliary of the Army Air Forces in 1943.

A German commander later confirmed that coastal U-boat operations were withdrawn from the United States "because of those damned little red and yellow airplanes.":)

  • @iYourNameHerei

I'm a C/SMSgt from the Wisconsin Wing. When I first joined, I was in the same shoes as you, and what I did helped me a lot. I've been in for a little over a year now, and I've been to way too many activities to count. My favorites being National Cadet Competition for Color Guard and National Flight Academy. Both of those have sky rocketed my leadership skills and knowledge in many fields. I keep my uniforms in tip top shape and stay professional around other CAP members. I am no

  • I atually do see it as a beneficial program it just needs to be restructured, I've been to encampment, twice (basic and staff), encampment is amazing in how it's run, my squadron by comparison- sucks ass, all we do is ES, but like radio and mission base ES, not good ES. I guess i could transfer, I have 3 other squadrons nearby. But i will try out some NCSAs next year, and CAP i guess does help ppl, i mean my gf was in some deep shit until she joined CAP and it helped her out, CAP is ehh....

  • @MrSolracable The squadron does matter, if your squadron sucks transfer and you'll get way more out of it.

    What wing are you from?

  • @BruteSlayer920 I'm from Minnesota Wing, NCR, I lucky am in an area where theres one squadron closer to where i live than my actual squadron, another squadron about the same distance away, and another just about 1/3 past the distance from my current squadron, so i have lots of options although I sort of have to stay until we have a staff change, i'm on command staff

  • Actually, CAP has everything that is in that video. If you are into the hardcore PT, attend PJOC, if you are into the mountaineering, attend Hawk Mountain. If you are into flying, NFA is for you. Squadron activities can only go so far, as many cadets do not share the same interest as you might personally. If you can't sum up the sufficient funds required for a specific NCSA, scholarships are available. I personally have gone to NFA, Operation Patriot with the actual USAF medics and foreign mili

  • @JJAHT Hey, you seam pretty knowledgeable about CAP. Im thinking about joining the local squadron, but when I went and watched a meeting, I saw that there were some young kids (around 14 or 14) that were in high enough rank to be in charge of the newer cadets. I am 15, and saw that these kids really didnt show and leadership qualities, and abused their power. I was wondering if I joined now, would I be able to surpass them in rank soon, so that I can offer better leadership? Thanks.

  • @iYourNameHerei

    I'm a C/ 2d Lt in the Maryland wing.

if you want to do that, it will take a while, but i like your initiative. i have seen those kinds of kids in CAP before.

if you want to change it, do it, and stick to it. you will bring some good if you motivate yourself. it won't be easy. but you gotta stick with it.

  • @TechTheTraceur Thanks for the reply. Will do.

  • For all if the ppl who don't have fun anymore I was in the same prob until I went to encampment and it reminded me how much it is so if u don't like it try some national or even request a squadron activity like sarx or something like that

  • Hello, tomorrow is the open day at the Spangdahlem Air Base and then I would put my drill trousers. I got paid the drill trousers. Can I wear tomorrow? I am a family member by NAMSA-NATO. I would appreciate a response.

    Best regards

  • CAP used to be an amazing program. This is what it used to be - Military orientation flights - intense PT - real ES - leadership training. All that it seems is gone now. CAP has its benefits but at what cost. Being bored out of your mind for 90% of the activities we do now a days. The only thing left in CAP is the aviation, and the selected few NORMAL individuals who don't have some social disability which is relatively hard to find in the modern CAP. CAP has disappointed me majorly.

  • C.A.P did nothing positive for me, It was a waste of my time, being ordered around by a bunch of bratty 12-16 yearolds. When i was a cadet, i thought it would be very cool, but nope! All i see is a bunch of unarmed Military wannabe brats who think they will become fighter pilots, im sorry but C.A.P is just a big joke.

  • @sputnik2k60 no, you're just a big joke. it does greatness for you for getting into colleges, getting jobs, and it teaches you lots of useful things. your just jealous because you couldnt handle it.

  • @capps4242 NOPE, ive been in cap for a while, i used to love it. But now a days it is nothing what it was like in the good ol days.

  • @sputnik2k60 sounds like you were in a pretty bad squadron... have you at least joined the military after that experience?

  • Transformers2 used this song because the producers kids were in cap and I'm at the squadron closest to the udvarhazi center where they filmed part of it. Thumbs up if u went to nhga

  • This song makes me so proud to be in CAP

  • Fantastic video...Steve Jablonsky isnt just a genius...YOU are!

  • This video is pure genius. I am so proud to be a cadet in the CAP. To those who are thinking of joining, you must read the following. When I joined 2 weeks ago, I was worried about not having friends and messing up. I have met VERY friendly people and I was taught by good cadets. I had to set up tents today for some cadets to sleep in before the airshow. I made 4 new friends and we all had fun doing that. I strongly suggest you join. No regrets. CAP is fantastic.

  • Cadet Tubbs here from Idaho Wing if you have doubts about CAP ignore them and join i had my doubts and i dont regret joining I love the CAP and joining the Corps to be a pilot when im 18! JOIN CAP!!!

  • @Aviator0x8 No

  • @Aviator0x8 There is no way you can be a military pilot at 18.

  • How were you able to put this music on?

  • whats the name of the song at 3:17?

  • @capps4242 Same song

  • @cameronlwilder then wats the name of the song?

  • I love CAP so much!!! <3

  • The PA. wing has encampment. just wondering if anyone from other states will be going.

  • @TEAMOhIGU im going to the Arkansas Encampment from 18-25 June in the Little Rock Air Force Base and Camp Robinson. good Luck and peace be with you to get through it. It's really challenging

  • One word...awesome

  • I wish the CAP didn't have USAF bs.

I just want to fly not march and wear army uniforms.

Well I guess I'll stick to my flight school

  • @Dominoes282

    ???

  • @Dominoes282 That makes no sense. CAP isn't just about flying. It's about serving your community, state and nation when they need you the most. There's nothing stronger than the heart of a volunteer. And it's "USAF bullshit." It's part of the program, hence the name: "The Official Auxillary of the U.S. Air Force"...

  • @Dominoes282 That's the whole point of joining. It's not about you, it's about serving your country.

    C/Tsgt Bultsma

  • @Dominoes282 Then don't join. THIS ISN'T ABOUT Y_O_U!

  • i like the tranformers music

  • Hello, I got an e-mail from the Civil Air Patrol, but I do not quite correct, can someone help me?

    Best regards

  • @TheMtnDewGreen I can help you out. What's your question?

    C/TSgt Bultsma

  • I tried it but it just wasnt for me (I am prior service and older). Theres nothing wrong with it but if you want something a little different try the Coast Guard Auxiliary . Some flotillas arent so great (too many older people)but alot of them are . You work right along side of the Coast Guard in SAR , patrols , vessel checks , even air div (helicopters) you can buy things in the CG exchanges , help recruit for the CG , all uniforms are the same. The Air Force seems to distance itself from CAP

  • I'm going to join this (:

  • @ghostliner45 Great to hear, It will be the best choice of your life.

    C/TSgt Bultsma

  • r u in civil air patrol?

  • I did cap and I thought it was a huge waste of time. All we did was study, take tests, rank up, do pt, and pretend we were in the military. I want to be a officer in the military and I've been interested in the military since the day I was born, but honestly cap is complete and utter bullshit. I'm not trying to offend anyone, but this vide is not what it's like at all and cap is not worth the time and effort.

  • @arbiter569 It depends on your squadron. Sometimes they suck, and sometimes they rock. So, sorry if yours did suck, but I guess that's life huh?

  • @arbiter569 Did you ever attend Encampment? There is so much more stuff we do there than this video even shows. Almost all of these video clips are from an encampment or National Activity. I agree that some squadron meeting can be boring at times. But once you get to shoot a Barret M107 50cal. Sniper Rifle, fly planes, rappel of buildings, and go on SAR missions you will start to realize how much fun it is. You get out of it what you put into it.

    C/TSgt Bultsma

  • @AirForceAuxiliaryNCO Do they have like barracks where we can stay overnight? And we get to shoot guns?? :O

What else is really fun to do?!

  • @ghostliner45 There are barracks at summer encampment that you stay in. You do get to shoot some guns, but we are not allowed to carry firearms. I had the chance at basic to shoot a M107 Barret 50.cal Sniper. In the years past cadets in Michigan have been trained on SAWs and M16A4s. There is alot of fun stuff to do, but definately start with summer encampment. Other things are NCSA (national cadet special activities).I will be traveling to Pennsylvania this summer to attend a 9 day long activity

  • @AirForceAuxiliaryNCO Well im gonna be joining the one in Rochester, NY. I can't wait to join it!

When you first start, is it like real military where they are really hard on you and stuff? And do all CAP places go to different states at some time, or is it just stay in state stuff? :D

  • @ghostliner45 They aren't that hard on you at all. Most squadrons are really laid back and super nice. It's when you get to the NCSA's and Encampment that it gets tough. The only place allowed to scream at you is where i'm going. And some squadrons do take trips to other states, especially for training missions, but you don't get relocated (they don't force you to move)

    C/TSgt Bultsma

    MIWG

  • I did 5 years in the active Army. As soon as my son is old enough I would like for him to check the CAP out. I think it's great to instill discipline and leadership qualities into young men and women.

  • Cap is a good program but then again it dose suck. Go marines cadet airmen

  • SEA CADETS ARE BETTER!!!!

  • @NAZIZOMBIESrUS no way

  • @NAZIZOMBIESrUS Faggot. No they are not! We have better encampments, more encampments, We are the actual auxiliary of the air force, we save lives, and some of us fought in WW2. You guys just take up space on earth. You guys are lucky that you aren't the pitiful young marines tho.

  • BTW I did about 300 of the views to this video

  • Does DADT apply to CAP. I just met Kim Petras and I am attracted to her sexually. does that make me Gay?

  • @treyanator09 don't ask dont tell got repealed a few months ago...

  • my CAP Sucked.

  • Great Video, my favorite by far.

  • Hello, I want to join to the CAP, but I have a question. The Wright-Patterson Air Force Base have enough Cadets/Senior members ? Because that's the AFB I want to join.

    Best regards.

  • @TheMtnDewGreen DO IT! I have a bunch of awesome friends who go there. That's a really great squadron. They meet Tuesday nights at 1830 near the flightline...actually, like, in the control tower building haha. They most certainly would accept new members.

  • @k80girlx3 OK thank you very much.
