May I as a non-Muslim ask something? WHY I ask, can't a democratic state not be compatible with Islam, if the state keeps its laws within Islamic law?
There is something called "Shura" or consultation. Muslims can put forward their views and change the laws/system of governance providing that they follow the Qur'an and Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (Sunnah meaning teachings/sayings of). There is actually quite some flexibility with this and ultimately religious scriptures like any law, whether Islamic or non-Islamic are up to interpretation, which can lead to change :)
I am a Muslim and I do believe in the Shari'a law of Allah swt, but I have to say that mr Green is not a good preacher. He is just telling the basic things of islam without going deeper and using more dimensions in explaining what's live and democracy about. The preach is very superficial and too theoretical.
Islamic politics rules by the minority Shora with law of sharia only, there is no rule of the people or freedom of choice, its the rule of the end of time...

Just because Muhammed, a mass murderer invented a cult saying that God inspired him does not make it true. The morality of a person has a lot to do with the message, the message of Muhammed reflects the fact that he was a mass murderer. Islam teaches violence, Islam teaches misogynistic values. It is repulsive.

Honestly, this not for arguments sake- but all the apostates I read about suffer from some sort of mental sickness. For e.g someone left religion because he used to be beaten by his father in childhood. etc. similar stories. These stories are not impressive at all. Rather I would pray for the cure of your illness.

Let me say please- all the persons I came across belong to some disturbed background. In everyone's live something bad has happened-caused by nature or somebody and they tried to took revenge by leaving the religion. I can just pray for you- that May Allah remove the disturbance from your live and cure you from sickness.
