By even our children I meant that the education they provide in school about tobacco must me given in the context that smokers are second class citizens and are gross. I've experienced 3 out of 4 of those addictions (crack wasn't my thing), and quitting smoking was nothing compared to quitting cocaine or heroin. try learning from people who have actual experience instead of believing everything you read.
i hate people that think they understand addiction when they've actually never experienced it. it's like a 8 year old boy telling you what it's like to be in love.

Seeing that "The Flintstones" was an adult show shown during prime-time (like the Simpsons or the Family Guy) and based on the Honeymooners, no one would rush home for lunch to watch this show; it wasn't on the tube at that time. It is a misconception that they were advertising to children.

I agree. I used to see "The Flintstones" back then when they were on at night and, yes, it seemed to be a show aimed at the adult market. I thought of it as an animated sitcom with the laughing track included in the shows. I'm 59 and never got into smoking cigarettes and I grew up in a time when it seemed as though EVERYONE smoked. Cigarette commercials were all over the television in the evenings. If Marge and Homer were on back then at that time, they probably would have been lighting up too!
