Fantastic musicianship by Ricky and his band. I'm not sure about the orchestration though. No offence meant but to my ears it doesn't add anything to the music (listen to the version without an orchestra and hear the difference). Don't get me wrong it's still pretty good and a lot better than most music out there.

It is in my experience that classical trained musicians have no improv skills and can't transpose keys. They can interpret anything on a piece of paper with incredible accuracy though.

that is very true, though a lot of jazz musicians who are very good at what you just described are classically trained as well. I dont know about Country and Bluegrass musicians though but I assume that even they have some form of classical training. Speaking for myself, I am trained as a classical percussionist and a jazz drummer so from expirience, I know it is good to have expirience and training in both disciplines
