front light is so ugly, it only looks good from the sides...., cant wait till yamaha or ducati makes a 250 that will llook then times better then this...
an awesome beginner bike for the people in US etc where you are allowed to ride a motorcycle when you are 16. but not here in holland where we need to be 21 to ride anything that's above 30 bhp :( after paying 1500 euro for a license, i'm not getting a 250cc bike lol but it's a cool bike when you're 16. I hate those exhaust pipes though
Whats new about this bike, the engine has been used in various machines since 1983 and is a gutless rev box of an engine that wears out quickly. Honda vt250 and Hyosung gt250r are much better bikes that are just as quick and are not built cheaply in THAILAND like the ninja.
That's because it has a seat cowl on it which is not stock. They probably put the seat cowl on the floor model because it looks alot better with it. If the Paris 250r does come with a stock seat cowl, you can buy the second seat. It is normally a 2 person sitter.
How fast do you wanna move? My 250 is just perfect for the road. It runs alot faster than the average car and about as fast as an S2000 and I owned one of those and they are fast!
I just got a custom 89 zx6 doesnt even look like an 89...but the first gear is so tricky and hard...i throtteld a little bit and I almost flew but i had breaks lol...should I keep it and learn or trade for 250?
first time sitting and throttling and everything on a bike lmao..its just that i got it for 1800 ... thats why lol but my buddies likee if you over throttle on a 250cc its still gonna zip up and its ust a matter of practise and getting used to...but im guessing fora 250cc youd have to throtle 25% more to do what a zx does eh??
it depends on you.. i had an rs125 for my first bike, and did my big test and then sold it..
the first big bike i bought was a 2004 kawasaki z750 and i never nearly flipped that..infact i didn't even bother trying to wheelie it.. its about self control and how mature of a rider you are. if you think you're going to crash then you should get a 250
a larger capacity bike could possiibily power wheelie, a 250 will be impossibe to wheelie unless you start doing stupid things with the clutch. :)
well until you know your clutch well enough that when u give it some throttle you wont go flying backwards. if you're still green to biking like me get used to where your clutch engages
i'm telling you to keep the 600 cause my friend had a 600 and got a 250 instead cause he needed the money and if once you had power you'll want it again
wouldn't it be more accurate to say that a specific torque/hp range is "about right," instead of a displacement? i have a 500cc bike with the same hp as the 250r.
lol some peeps say the most useless things just look at the comment bellow mine no doubt that he waisted his or her breathe. On a side note there appears to be entirely too many net trolls around these days.
I've got the 09 model, still the same bike, it is awesome. Can't praise it enough. You tossers that slag it off probably can't even ride a 3yr olds trike. Get a life.
way too different bikes to compare, but anyway if you look for confy friendly ride, choose the ybr, if you want some more spice and sport look, get the ninja.
it may not match its brother, the zx 6r, but not all riders out there can afford a 600cc bike you know? for example, me is one of them. just compare the price here at my place, the 250r cost is 19k, while zx 6r cost is 80k. so you can see why there is people using them on road
about time they made some more smaller capacity sports bikes, there aint much around for young or new riders, most people my age get a shagged out rs250, which will be a hard act to follow but i bet the kwak will be a damn sight more reliable
Is it possible to put wider tires on this motorcycle? If yes, how wide? I would love to have this bike for commuting, but only if I can put wider tires on it.
ok i just watched another vid andits a 4 stroke haha, my buddy's must just be a rlly low end model lol. P.S Th3DooM CDI is Capacitive Discharge Ignition, it doesnt have anything to do with fuel delivery you are thinking EFI(electronic fuel ingection)
ok im not into street bikes(but motocross) but is this a 2 or 4 stroke? cause if it is a 4 it would be so slow... and the exhaust looks to big for a twostroke???? my freind has a ninja 500 which looks rlly lame so i couldnt see a 250 looking SPORTIER THAN THE 500(but it does) so i am rlly thinking its a two stroke?
I just got one 08 ninja 250 for $4900 out the door, its the lime green color and really like it. Very easy to control and enough power for most riding. No competition to this bike at price, demand high, supply low ==dealer ripoff,,they got me good, but I couldn't wait.
Cal Coast Motorsports in Ventura, California. I had to wait 11 days for the bike to arrive. Only had to put a $100 deposit and they included free delivery for me. Ask for Tori, he helped me out a lot.
It has around like 30 hp, and about 18 ft lbs of torque. But at around 333 lbs and a redline around 13,000 rpms (please correct if I'm wrong, I did research on this bike awhile ago) this bike is pretty quick. well one reason is i just bought one its not 5K i paid tax title docking fee etc... everytin 3800 its quick coz its light and well a 2002 is actually 6 years old. thats crazy right? seem like if you had a 2002 anything it was new but now thats getting old. just dont dog it. try it then comment
I don't know where you are from...but where I live in Switzerland it has 33 hp. I heard that in America it has 30 hp i really don't know if it's true.
honda cbr has got too fine tires which could be dangerous because it's like a simple bicycle. Ut isn't powerful at all it's more a bike for the city than for another thing. To buy an 250r Kawasaki is better choice, 1st for the price and 2nd for the handling and power. It's a great bike for beginners too.
ps. i bought one the other day. financed it for $100/month with a 1.9 financing rate with 3 years warranty and roadside assistance. $4400 out the door. can't go wrong with this bike
why waste money on a 600 when you can buy this? this has more than enough power for any rider. 1200 a year insurance on this or 8000 a year on a 600? i think the ninja is a better choice.
Hey thanks 4 putting this vid up!! Im working on getting a bike and im stuck between ninja 250 or honda CBR600. Some people say go wit the 600, but then others say, since im a girl and its my first time I should go with a 250. Any suggestion!!!
First bike.. My friend started with a 600 and wrecked it on the first day. 250 is enough to start out with, and I've heard plenty of people that have started with one and didn't regret getting it.
Bike rocks. Great mileage, riding position of a standard, light and flickable, inexpensive, good looks, and only about 1/4 second slower 0-60 than a $41,000 BMW 335i.
Looking to get one this spring, great college commuter.
nice ride. the upright riding position looks comfortable. way better than bein' hunched over with your arms stretched out straight and way forward to grab a pair of clip-ons.
Great bike. I am going to byu soon this or honda cbr 125r. The honda is 3000 euro here. But I like kawasaki more. Can someone tell me what is the price of the ninja in Greece or some other country member of the EU.
ive got a gs500 f and ive gotta say im leaning more towards this one now, although my gs500 is 600cc and this is only 400cc(i think thats what he said)
I'm about to get my first bike, guess its my 20th B-Day present for myself. I was looking at the Ninja 650R... between the 650 and 250, which would you recommend? I'm 5'8" about 175lbs.
I'll keep you updated on that.I also got news that Russia has made with Japan two biggest gas tankers and third is on the way to extract gas from icy regions of Siberia!I heard that Taiwan opposition(pro-Chinese) won overwhelming majority in parliamentarian elections.Smiles all the way on my end :-) :-)
You should get either:Aprilia,Cagiva or Honda 125cc or this one if you are a beginner and just got your licence.Don't even think about buying any 600cc because you couldn't handle the performance and it takes a bit of experience.
Thats really nice how they changed that old school look into something more modern, I went on thier website though and they only changed the 250, the 500 still looks like that old ass shit.
ive heard its gna b 36BHP so can be riden on a Restrict Licence, and is going to top out about 110mph.
anyone confirm that?
its a small leight weight - mid powered bike, so why the hell people are complaining about the wheels, its what 110/70 on front 130/70 on rear.
half you people saying OMFG its got tiny tyres proberally trash an Aprilia RS 125, its got a fair sized tryes for what is it, and 600's race on 130...
This is a sick bike for the price. I am going to get it whenever it comes out. If the MSRP is $3500. Then out the door what do you think I could get it for? (after tax and licensing and whatever other dealer fees)
you're best bet is to call dealers in your area and compare prices. Tell dealer 1 that dealer 2 is willing to sell it to me for $xxxx, ask if they can do better? Then go back to dealer 2 until neither will budge. I'm in the same boat as you except I'm getting a used 250 dirt cheap (hopefully) and wanna buy before winter sales end.
to the design there have the ligthinfg fuse then the housing meter

i want to buy a bike,my first one!!!!i am not experienced so is this a good for my first bike?????honda 125cbr is better or worst???
geomthegreat 3 years ago
honda cbr has got too fine tires which could be dangerous because it's like a simple bicycle.

$4400 out the door. can't go wrong with this bike
colin8868 4 years ago
why waste money on a 600 when you can buy this? this has more than enough power for any rider. 1200 a year insurance on this or 8000 a year on a 600? i think the ninja is a better choice.
colin8868 4 years ago 2
what a fucking bike!! the 250 will always be agreat summer rider....

Hey thanks 4 putting this vid up!! Im working on getting a bike and im stuck between ninja 250 or honda CBR600. Some people say go wit the 600, but then others say, since im a girl and its my first time I should go with a 250. Any suggestion!!!

chadly1616 4 years ago
no YOU can only go the speed limit. I will go as fast as i want.

Its not like she will be wanting to go 200 mph. The 250 has enough speed for her and I plan on getting one myself.
PLANBSKATER52 3 years ago
250...trust me. You won't regret it. Speed is all relative, anyways.

First bike.. My friend started with a 600 and wrecked it on the first day. 250 is enough to start out with, and I've heard plenty of people that have started with one and didn't regret getting it.

Anyway it's still 165 km/h... It's not THAT bad..

Bike rocks. Great mileage, riding position of a standard, light and flickable, inexpensive, good looks, and only about 1/4 second slower 0-60 than a $41,000 BMW 335i.
Looking to get one this spring, great college commuter.
FulMetlJakit 4 years ago 4
nice ride. the upright riding position looks comfortable. way better than bein' hunched over with your arms stretched out straight and way forward to grab a pair of clip-ons.
i'm thinkin' of gettin' one.

249cc i think?
adijaycnike3188 4 years ago
sundynasty, its the ninja 250r hence 249cc engine
bartc34316 4 years ago
@sundynasty
GS500f is 500cc and Ninja 250R is 250cc! Look are the numbers man, 500 and 250 are there for a reason! :)
dex1678 4 years ago

There's some nice pics of the bike at this website:

RainbowPhotography 4 years ago
its got skinny tires because its lite and not very powerful, so bigger tires are useless.
gixxer450 4 years ago

Wow! I never thought the 250 would look so good. Big improvement in looks at least. Looks like a mini zx-10
miagi84 4 years ago
This is a sick bike for the price. I am going to get it whenever it comes out. If the MSRP is $3500. Then out the door what do you think I could get it for? (after tax and licensing and whatever other dealer fees)
crazytown899 4 years ago
you're best bet is to call dealers in your area and compare prices. Tell dealer 1 that dealer 2 is willing to sell it to me for $xxxx, ask if they can do better? Then go back to dealer 2 until neither will budge. I'm in the same boat as you except I'm getting a used 250 dirt cheap (hopefully) and wanna buy before winter sales end.
holybatfart 4 years ago
you should add about $1500-$2000 after all that stuff.

i bought one for 3800 out the door
