Not calling yourself Post-Rock could ironically be a Post-Rock thing. TWDY are not douchebags at all, from the others interview I saw Godspeed You! Black Emperor called themself a Punk-Rock band, or a Rock band and I can't find an EITS interview talking about the genre. We may all have 'Post-Rock' written on our heart but in the end, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Explosion In The Sky and This Will Destroy You are all amazingly great at making what they does the best : music.

I would get annoyed too if I sounded like TWDY and I got compared to EITS all the time. They sound completely different. Just because they're both big names in the "postrock" genre doesn't mean they're obliged to like each other's music. The label "postrock" itself has some pretty awful connotations so good for them if they want to distance themselves from that. You kids got super offended by any sort of negative criticism of these guys. Hey! I like their music! Like I said- I've been listening to them for years. I was just disappointed to catch a glimpse of their egos. It happens all the time. It sucks being disappointed by the people behind the music.

I am a huge fan of both Godspeed and Explosions and having been listening to TWDY for years, I have a really hard time believing that they just don't like Explosions music of "Post Rock". Donavan has said “Fuck post-rock, and fuck being called post-rock.” Going so far as to say they don't enjoy Explosions? It's obvious this animocity is fueled but regularly being compared or referenced to EITS. Grow up.

well..the eits comment really had me and my friends talking..i can imagine its hard for them to be from texas and have that shadow looming.i think a little higher regard would have been better but eits "is" my favorite band.

i liked the mentioning of "stars of the lid" another one of my favorites i just did not care the the eits comment because "THEY RULE!"
