My band class went to Disney world this year and performed there, but we had 3 days for ourselves to go to different parks. I caught this while I was in the Japan Pavilion. They're really good. I love the huge drum.
Wow, thats awesome! I love taiko drums, and I love Disney World. Put the two together and you have yourself a dream vacation. :3 I wish I could go on a senior trip to Disney...(major evny)
....OMG!I can't believe your class went to disney world....I want to go to disney owrld[also,in this school I want to go to,you can go on a class trip too:Europe and Space Camp!]
I used to work at the Moroccan ice cream cart right next to the Japan Pavillion. I heard these guys everyday...A lot of fun groovin to these guys for an eight hour shift.
mmm, I'm korean but I like Japanese drumming better. :) I'm even on my school's Taiko club...ppl call me a traitor tho since I didn't join the korean drumming club, heh... ^^;;
Hey, I saw the same show! I first heard it when I was in England eating at Rose & Crown pub.. I was like what the heck is that banging?!? It's a lot less annoying when you're watching it...
Haha, yeah, I heard it while I was in Disney, FL for my school trip, and quickly found out what it was...it isnt just about banging, its a rythmic movement to it as well. I rather enjoyed it, glad you could watch it and not be annoyed anymore! :]
Every time I have seen this, one of the drummer's head scarves goes flying off. :D It was a more extreme performance, though.

Ahh Korean drums are better. It's not like Chinese, Japanese or African Rhythm but it's really distinct. It's very raw...
No one knows much about it.
