@gfks11 This is the first movie star video that I ever made. I am so glad that you found this one. I used to make longer videos, but more recently I decided to select shorter songs. People are busy, and they are more apt to watch the short ones. Thank you so much for your nice comments!
Marilyn's fav female star. MARILYN SAID BECAUSE JEAN HAD THE SAME COLOR HAIR AS HERSELF WHEN SHE WAS A CHILD AND THAT SHE FELT CLOSE TO HARLOW BECAUSE OF THAT. this was great..5*****
Jean is one of my favorites from the olden days. And both of them worked with Clark Gable. I recently found a great picture of Marilyn Monroe with Vivien Leigh. It will be in the Vivien video once I make it. I also found a picture of MM with Ella Fitzgerald, which I have seen it in another video. I will use it in Ella's video once I make it.
Thank you!!! Youtube stole +700 of my videos and + 30 00 pictures and videos from my cousin and niece.....so I post less here....it is not a trustful site....
Beautiful on two counts, three actually; 1, Beethoven's masterpiece; 2, Jean, the gorgeous "Platinum Blonde"; and 3, the Hawaiian footage at the end... great video!!! Thank you for sending!!!
The pictures of Jean are beautiful and very interesting. She starred with so many famous leading male stars and I think she set a trend for platinum blonds. The music really enhanced the video. The video takes you back to a more glamorous period in Hollywood. Thank you Ellen for posting this tribute to Jean Harlow.
Thank you for your nice remarks. This was my first movie star video. When I saw the picture of her with Clark Gable, I knew that I had to do a video about him too. So I did.
I just loved this, YOU have caputured the beauty of Jean in your video and selected the PERFECT music to enhance the mood to the hightst degree. Congratulations, this was SPLENDID!
Both your videos are well done: you showed the true Harlow who was often portrayed as a comedic actress...how tragic to marry such a man and to have her life gone away too soon...the original "blonde bombshell of the cinema"...5*
Yes, her dear sweet mother was in one of the pictures. Some of the biographies tried to portray her mother as some awful stage mother, but they usually got along well enough.
Thank you so much for viewing my second video! Mission accomplished!
Thank you so much. Of course she looks beautiful in all of her pictures. There were a few I did not pick because I did not like her makeup or the picture had a frame on it or the magazine cover did not look that good when the corners got cut off. But the heavy makeup was probably appropriate for the role she was playing. I tried to pick the photos that helped us see her personality and inner beauty.
Thank you so much for viewing my second video! I was born in the fifties, so Jean was deceased before I was born. She died when she was only in her twenties. Anyhow, I am interested in movie stars who were movie stars before I was born.
Thank you so much for watching my second video attempt. Collecting the pictures was fun. The first Hawaii video was more for practice, but it was fun.
Looking this good must take work. You also need a talented photographer. I love to look at pictures from the old Vanity Fair magazines before the depression. They make great coffee table books. Thank you so much for viewing my second video. The Hawaii video was kind of for practice.
Moonlight Sonata was actually my second choice, but of course I have always loved the beautiful piece. I used to play it on the piano myself, like a lot of us pianists. I had wanted to pick something less haunting, more happy.
Ellen, this is a great tribute to the great Jean Harlow! Jean was beautiful and was a wonderful actress...she was born in Kansas City, MO. and lived in the Briarcliff area not too far from where I live, at least that's what I understand. The music goes perfect. Thank you for posting this! :)
Thank you for viewing this very special video. I read her biography called Bombshell a few years ago. I love to read about the early movie stars.-----Ellen

I think that's her Mum with her at 1:15.
In her short life she became a star and one of the very best.
