  • Do they play this song back-to-back with Sentimental? Cuz it'd be awkward musically if they didn't.

  • I think it's hard to find a video with 559 likes against 2 on youtube.

  • Hey guys check out our acoustic cover on my page. Rate and comment please. Cheers =)

  • increíble música ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡

  • I'm always devastated by the way this heavy section starting at 4:39 leads to this amazing part on 5:00. God, it's unbelievable.

  • @Karolcia1993 - why are you devastated by it? Isn't it a good thing?

  • @kirtanakrishna I'm devastated in a VERY good way. :)

  • I want to be a girl Steven Wilson when I grow up. I'm normal ok

  • i remember listening to this and playing WoW lol... it used to feel like i was in a dream world O.o

  • @killercreek450 WOW + PT ? I already love u :3

  • OMG! It's 4 in the morning and I realy need some sleep! But I can't.. stop.. press.. the replay button! xD

  • "Wish I was old and a little sentimental." One of the best lines from any song ever.

  • Each time I discover a PT song, I discover a wonder of the world.

Feels great to know that I'm not the only one who loves real music.

I was born in the wrong generation, I HATE POP MUSIC

  • It's a shame non of the other members sing because that ending section really missed all the harmonies and vocal layering present in the studio version.

  • I've almost got to the point all their songs can bring tears.

  • I feel the same as you. Unfortunately, I just discovered PT this past summer from being a Gavin Harrison fan. If it wasn’t for youtube, I never would have found Porcupine Tree’s music. I’m in my early 50s now and been listening to music for a long time and PT has hit me like no other music and just can’t get enough of it plus, Steven Wilson’s solo work.

  • @hmcdonnell23 I'm 34, think I've got a pretty elcectic and good taste in music.. I only just heard PT for the first time last month. I don't think I can go a day now without listening to at least one track. I found my way to them from the Opeth singers constant bursts of Steven Wilson appreciation. They truely evoke feelings unable to be found in any music. At least to me.

  • This music is way better than Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Lil Wayne etc. We all know this obviosly. Thats why where here. We found great music, Porcupine Tree. This is the best band in my opinion now a days. Its a complex and amazing band. Gavin's a great drummer, Steve's great overall and everythings just GREAT. I will kill someone to see this band. These songs relate to me and when i listen to this i feel emotion. Thats what real music is like. When you go through emotions and feelings.

  • 2 people aren't normal

  • 5:00 It tingles in my lower back everytime I here this. <3

  • @tash1tasornas HEAR

  • Some do not understand the concept.

It's like Lady Gaga or Mozart. Or PT vs Puff Daddy.

  • Wilson, forgive them 'cause they don't know what they listen to.

  • 2 dislikes? WHATTTT?!?!?!

  • I wish i was steven wilson and a little heavy metal

  • I would kill a man to see them live.

  • 0:53 playing that and singing at the same time...

  • @Deadwing6 The riff is kinda simple ... but reverse picking like that with a small variation on each new measure ask a loooot of concentration :D

  • This is fucking phenomenal. Certainly my favorite PT song!

  • John failed at 2:48 :D

  • this should have more than 29033 views...

  • honestly..if i was rich i would hire these guys to play this song all day long

  • FUCK THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD

  • Their bassist looks so much like a dude I'd guess is a prog bassist. He's got that look down to a fucking science

  • 5:45 God damn, Colin is a BOSS!

  • There's noone else on earth like Steven... truly a gifted songwriter! love him!! <3

  • beautiful

  • I love Steven so much...

  • amazing tune

  • what song is better than this. i cant get it out of my head.. I also wanna hug the bass player, Yes homo jk xD

  • One person isn't normal anyway.

  • This song blows me away every time i hear it... damn.

  • I cant stop watching this

  • I cut my progressive rock teeth on bands like Yes, Rush and Jethro Tull. But this band simply hits on every cylinder 100% of the time unlike those other bands. The combination of dynamics, blend of vocal and instrument, thoughtful lyrics and down right phenomenal playing are it for me. How could I not find PT sooner?

  • Who cares if this video hasn't got millions of views. In fact, good! It's obvious the majority of the population can't appreciate music like this. Real music. Not like most of the dogshit being played 24/7 on the radio. Just let this brilliant music be special to the few who love it. I know I do...

  • Wish I was Old and a little ....Sentimental.

  • totally blown away

  • I'm an atheist but.. i'm pretty sure he's Jesus. Has to be.

  • @DeepAbsentia Funny enough, that was my first impression of him

  • @DeepAbsentia Jesus is a pretty cool guy. But he's no Steven Wilson.

  • @Evraem I agree. Maybe someday we'll find the gospel of Wilson, who knows.

  • @DeepAbsentia ....And before the first day, Porcupine Tree created God.

  • @DeepAbsentia You're talking about Gavin... right?

  • @killercreek450 Now.. you caught me in the act, like a drummer!

But Wilson... it's more like a dreamer.. i'll have to go with both! =)

  • @DeepAbsentia Who, Steven or Gavin?

  • @Trollinginger I'd say Gavin, being a drummer. And Wilson, being a dreamer. So.. i don't really know (:

  • porcupine tree is a magnificent band they are a genius

  • could*

  • The acoustic outro to this song (that starts at 7:00) is phenomenal.

  • steven wilson!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Gavin goes sick @4:48

  • The Band is fantastic ^_^

  • Wish I......

  • The band is just rite an John is only an extra hand PT could do wit on stage, not takin away aNythin from him, the guy is phenomenal but jus cos he makes PT sound 'full' on stage doesn mean he must be in the band an don forget, that all what John performs, every note an vocal line is what Steve tells him to do ! PT reigns for those abstract minds rebelling the present system. FOREVER !!

  • new obsession

  • Does anyone else realise how hard this song is to play on any kind of acoustic guitar that isn't a a babicz.? >>

  • @kyletheenigma not very hard at all actually its quite simple

  • @kyletheenigma acutally it's on every instrument the same.. it depends on your skills but i agree, it's not easy to play though

  • @NeedHeadMusic For me it's fuc***in hard but maybe I'm an amateur. Can you play it? How to pick the notes so fast in the intro? Do you know some exercises to achieve it?

  • @kupcius91 Yeah I can play it..

you can hammer on the first notes but you have to pick the rest.. it's just practice

  • @NeedHeadMusic Yeah and the part played just before "You have my car..." and further. The chords are easy but picking is like 2x too fast for me not to mention singing along like Steve. Wonder how to pick this fast and still be precise. Well, looks like I have to find some lessons. This is really awesome song wish i would play it someday.

  • Daaamn, never heard this before. Fantastic. Also, let me be person 9174395710 to say John Wesley should join PT for studio stuff =(

  • I never seem to grow tired of Porcupine Tree and Steven Wilson-related music. He's got such an incredible back-catalogue of stuff and so many interesting side-projects. This music touches me in so many ways.... And this song is among the best.

  • Sentimental version 2.0 - completely different song, but still an AMAZING one!

  • @filusdrummer Actually, Normal was composed before Sentimental. Steven decided to use the chorus because it was so powerful. Doesn't take much research.

  • @royohz thanks for your comment mate. I didn't bother searching, I didn't imagine it at all :)

  • @filusdrummer I'm glad you didn't take offense, because I felt it looked a bit aggressive or negative. Sorry about that. Glad to be of use!

  • @royohz If you didn't post the second comment I would have probably had ;)

  • @filusdrummer But no offense, of course :]

  • top 5 PTree song?? One of the best IMO.

  • Amazing version!!

  • I can't believe there are so few views this is an amazing song...

  • Sentimental

  • i love the asmosphere that this song has <3

  • eargasmic.... steven wilson is a genius!!

  • this should have more than 730 views...

  • @Aipotsud It has . I just raped the replay button 5672 times. :)

  • @Aipotsud I'm working on it.

  • @Aipotsud it has 12,855 views....comon man keep up.................my trolling skills are top notch

  • @Aipotsud wish, granted.

  • @Aipotsud Is *twenty-four thousands* in six months enough? :D

They're getting more and more famous here in Italy: just a couple of years ago, I couldn't be able to find anyone listening to them. Let's hope this will lead to more gigs and meetings everywhere.

  • @Aipotsud

31,000+ is what I'd expect by now!

  • This song is not Normal! ;D

  • @FeliipeBarreto

    But what's normal now anyhow?

  • @FeliipeBarreto

    jajaja loool EPIC :)

  • Holy sh!t this song sounds good when u r high!!

  • @Mochello Man, you dont need to be high for this song to sound good...... it just makes it even better
