The boat was 1st owned by patrick Mercurio throttled by richie Powers and driver by Omar in 92' the deck was cut down due to visibity issues just prior to the 92' KW worlds in a matter of hrs and days
@dieseldog00 again the No. 50 Apache Heritage is 47' this is coming from MANY SOURCES from OSO "Offshore Only.com" per Rich Luhrs Bob Saccenti ec etc please check out the threads on THIS boat before saying it's 50' again...... and putting words in Mark McManus.
both of the boats are 47' . The Apache Heritage was an old race boat from the early 90's and the 1st and only sit-down canopy boat that has been built other than the Catamarans that Apache had built also. The 50 on the side is just a number from the racing days. I hope this clears up a lot of confusion for a lot of Apache diehards
OTOH I like ELO so sorry about that last comment I was in a foul mood.
The 50 looks strange w/o that old school Apache look. I would have kept the canopy and found a way to air condition the cockpit. Has anybody put turbines in a McManus Apache? This big monster would be the perfect platform for them. It has already broken the traditional Apache mold so why not turbines as well...
It's not a new design That boat was built almost 20 years ago and had the conopy cut off. I just love how these tripple engine 47's tear up the water.
Wow. The Apache Heritage looks great bashing waves but I don't like the canopy or sitdown bolsters or the scoops on the hatch. Just not the classic and very cool Apache "look." I am sure this new design is more comfortable but now it just looks like another "ciagarette" boat. The Patriot is just right, except for the scoops.
