Don't apologise for your english it's better than english only speakers haha. I think if you can take a true classic of a movie and pair it with an overplayed (sub-par) song it's damn brilliance, because every half-wit self proclaimed art enthusiast will be calling for your head. In short you are a master of controversy.
Damn, don't you think that's kind of hostle. with logic like that I would have never taken My Voyage To Italy. I appoligize for the insolence of Americans and of course our rap shit (as you said it doesn't translate well). (This comment is not directed to Italins in anyway.)
That was one of the first mash-ups I ever saw... absolutely brilliant! Nothing like combining classic, outstanding cinema with really crappy, formulaic movies of today (all it takes is a star and a soundtrack). Great work!
Well done! Except in 8 1/2 he has already made it, and is trying to reproduce that quality, whereas in 8 mile he's trying to get his name out. Interesting idea, though
Very very very well done. You give me a brillant idea and now I also want to realize a video putting together some Fellini's sequences and rock music. I think Mercury Rev would be perfect for this use, don't you think so? (sorry for my english, i'm italian)
very well done trailer using talent from different generations....fellini and eminem are both master storytellers....just using different methods and techniques..f-y-i....im old enough to have seen fellinis' films on the big screen but young enough to have seen eminem in concert too. appreciate everything in the arts.
Wow, as some people have already noted, you can show this trailer to people who normally wouldn't even consider watching a film like this and leave them enticed. Ah well, even if they wanted to rent this at their nearby Blockbuster, they'd end up being lead to 9 1/2 Weeks in the erotic drama section, like that poor bloke in Ghost World.
it doesn't matter if you like Eminem, the editing in this short is where the 'funny' is, so you kinda need the song, y'dig? As for rap not being music... it's not that I don't fully agree with you so much as ... I just think you're wrong
Emine doesn't try to sing you little moron,He is a rapper wich rappers use LYRICS dip shit lyrics are in every song not only are there lyrics but you have to make them rhyme and go with beat and think of a hook.
DURRRRR
I am a metal fan but don't try and bring music into this you stupid little bitch.
Very nice editing and title work but Eminem and 8 1/2 should never be together. Especially in terms of 8 Mile which was a terrible remake of Flashdance. Watch those two movies and tell me they're not identical. Otherwise, well done.
totally agree re: 8 mile = flashdance... maybe someone should make that happen... 1 2 3 not it! as for eminem and fellini not belonging together, i disagree, because it is funny. if this were an attempt to make something "awesome" then i would agree with you, but it's meant to make you laugh, and it made me laugh, so mission accomplished!
I totally appreciated the concept but to me Fellini and Eminem are from two different worlds. I see the similarities but there were times when it felt less like a trailer and more like a music video. But I can't front, the title work on it is really slick.
Im open to any kind of experimentation, but I dont see how Fellini and Emenem can relate, its like using Emenem music in a Fellini movie,I dont think it would work.
check out 8 mile, and you will find that it is not only well made (directed by curtis hanson, who made the amazing "LA Confidential") but it also shares a few interesting parallels with "8 1/2". The two have more in common than you would think at first glance; don't let your feelings towards rap music in general prevent you from seeing a pretty darn good film.
Wow, Excellently put. I've always thought that and it's great to hear someone else share the same view. Excellent work. Not only well cut but a very creative idea. Glad to know their are other Fellini lovers out there who also appreciate rap. Nicely, nicely cut.
Wow i got scared for a moment there that not enough people had seen 8 1/2... the last few comments have revived my faith, thanks guys. i edited using final cut 5, titles in motion 2 and aftereffects 6.
wow nice stuff!! i really like the trailer and its style...very professional and perfekt audio/video harmony :D which editing program did u use? keep it up!
I don't get it. I watched the whole thing. I just don't get it. A buch of old movie clips strung together with a lot of smokers... I just don't get the references or any alleged humor. I don't know much about old or foreign old films. Sorry if I disappointed you.
hey thanks to everyone who's watched, rated, commented, or favorited this video, we're really happy that people are liking it, we feared that the joke would be too obscure for most, but i think we massively underestimated the number of film dorks in the world :)

Fellini loved America, but he was jealous of his films, he would never have allowed this.
This has nothing to do with the freedom of speech, it's the author royalty and integruty of masterpieces we are speaking about.
So make an effort and express your talent elsewhere; keep out!
