  • Oh my God that was brilliant.

  • EMINEM OWNS!

  • funny eminem owns yall fuck yall if u doubt him

  • OMG you've just reminded me I have to see 8 1/2 AGAIN!

  • Gosh! This video is so damn good!

    I could feel Mastroianni´s nervosism.

I don´t like Eminem, but love Marcello and Fellini...so cool!!!

  • La cosa più irritante e fastidiosa mai vista nella mia vita!Mi piace

  • I dont like eminem at all but this video... i cant stop watching it. Great editing, got a lot of rythm and marcello, as always...perfect.

    Thanks.

    pd: sorry for my english.

  • Don't apologise for your english it's better than english only speakers haha. I think if you can take a true classic of a movie and pair it with an overplayed (sub-par) song it's damn brilliance, because every half-wit self proclaimed art enthusiast will be calling for your head. In short you are a master of controversy.

  • dat was nice

  • Oh that was Masterful. I wallow in the wake of your brilliance. I like the other guy wished I had thought of it first.

  • well done.

  • This is so fucking brilliant! Wish I thought of it.

  • and i thought he rapped against them

  • great vid

  • ASA NISI MASA...FA SHIZZLE!

  • its lose yourself not 8 mile

  • waaah

  • nice jump cut while falling into the ocean

  • i loved it. it would have made fellini very proud. i give it a 200 out of 100 i have to show this to caleb brendan and logan

  • My sister is named Feline after that fella so I watched 8 1/2. And your mash up makes more sense to me than the movie did.

  • mash yourself. the movie is as clear as any acid trip or peyote binge

  • well made. :-)

  • ahaha awesome, fellini would have loved it

  • brilliant. simply brilliant. Eminem has been elevated to 8-1/2.

  • malisimo!!!!

  • lmao.

  • Maybe the best trailer mashup on the net. Long live Fellini.

  • very nice 5 stars

  • Fellini loved America, but he was jealous of his films, he would never have allowed this.

This has nothing to do with the freedom of speech, it's the author royalty and integruty of masterpieces we are speaking about.

So make an effort and express your talent elsewhere; keep out!

  • confermo a pieno badjob

  • Brilliant!!

  • fantastic job!!!!!

  • to isabella77... we put our rap shit in whatevr we want. freedom of speech baby!! GO AMERICA!!

  • 5 stras for you :)))

  • 8 1/2 is soooooooo awesome! And this brings that out in a new way.

  • bloody good

    (and I love Mostroianni/Guido in a "hoodie" :-)

  • that was my favorite image too, glad you picked up on it, i think you are the first :)

  • well done

  • Please keep your rap and shit out of The Fellini films. Don't mix this american shit with Italian cinema.

  • It's *obviously* a spoof. Fellini--and Pasolini, for that matter--with their mixing of registers, etc. would have approved.

  • Damn, don't you think that's kind of hostle. with logic like that I would have never taken My Voyage To Italy. I appoligize for the insolence of Americans and of course our rap shit (as you said it doesn't translate well). (This comment is not directed to Italins in anyway.)

  • I must that was shit, and did no justice to the film.

  • Looks great...!

  • This is so well-done! The music fits very well with the themes of the movie!! Good job.

  • perfettamente d'accordo con phantomreloaded. Giù le mani da Fellini!

  • cosè sta merda???? ma andate a smerdarvi il vostro cazzoso cinema di x-men e mignotte varie cazzo!!!!

  • lmao...lol...rofl...smurf...nigga...

  • Can you tell me what software you used to create this? Thanks.

  • edited in final cut pro, titles in motion. that is it :)

  • very cool, that's the future of art...deconstructing and reconstructing

  • Nice!

  • it could actually be the trayler of the movie!!! Eminem's music for Fellini.... cool!

  • cool!

  • smart stuff! 5 stars.

  • LOL

  • i love this mash its f*#kin brilliant - so damn sweet i love you guys

  • was totally expecting this to be crap. in that sense I feel extremely disappointed. excellent work. ;]

  • funniest thing i've ever seen

  • fellini's rhythm with eminems brilliance, good work

  • brilliant

  • love it!

  • jajaja

    this is great

  • That was one of the first mash-ups I ever saw... absolutely brilliant! Nothing like combining classic, outstanding cinema with really crappy, formulaic movies of today (all it takes is a star and a soundtrack). Great work!

  • what a perfect...

  • gorgeous work!!!!

  • that's amazing.. - nice!

  • Well done! Except in 8 1/2 he has already made it, and is trying to reproduce that quality, whereas in 8 mile he's trying to get his name out. Interesting idea, though

  • Hahahahahahahaha that worked suprisingly well.

  • Very very very well done. You give me a brillant idea and now I also want to realize a video putting together some Fellini's sequences and rock music. I think Mercury Rev would be perfect for this use, don't you think so? (sorry for my english, i'm italian)

  • amazing :O:O:O

  • fucking genius. you are. awesome. thank you.

  • awesome! Fellini = God

  • that WAS SOO BEAUTIFUL ,GR8 EDITING MAN KEEP IT UP!!!

  • Rap means 'R'hythm 'A'nd 'P'oetry hence R.A.P...rap.

A short definition of 'music' is - "organised sound" Therefore rap is music.

Eminem is the most lyrical and talented rapper.

  • 8 mile i could sit threw fellini thats how bad it was.

And yes Rap is music you little nerds.

  • I can't stand Eminem but I must say that this is great. Well done!

  • ANother tight eminem parody

    Bollyhood - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EDfFpnX-yfY

  • very well done trailer using talent from different generations....fellini and eminem are both master storytellers....just using different methods and techniques..f-y-i....im old enough to have seen fellinis' films on the big screen but young enough to have seen eminem in concert too. appreciate everything in the arts.

  • wow how the hell did u do that?? did u like take an old movie and do something with it? but that was amazing

  • Wow, as some people have already noted, you can show this trailer to people who normally wouldn't even consider watching a film like this and leave them enticed. Ah well, even if they wanted to rent this at their nearby Blockbuster, they'd end up being lead to 9 1/2 Weeks in the erotic drama section, like that poor bloke in Ghost World.

  • I am a movie fan,And Rap is music you stupid pop listening dirt bag.Anyway i like 8 mille more i can relate to the movie the acting seems believable.

So i go with 8 mile no doubt.

  • it doesn't matter if you like Eminem, the editing in this short is where the 'funny' is, so you kinda need the song, y'dig? As for rap not being music... it's not that I don't fully agree with you so much as ... I just think you're wrong

  • I cant stand the music... Eminem is a freggin moron who can't sing worth a dime. Change the background sounds (Rap is not music)

  • Emine doesn't try to sing you little moron,He is a rapper wich rappers use LYRICS dip shit lyrics are in every song not only are there lyrics but you have to make them rhyme and go with beat and think of a hook.

    DURRRRR

I am a metal fan but don't try and bring music into this you stupid little bitch.

  • fuck you dog, rap is not music, it's art bitch!

go hear your fuckin britney spears cd!

  • Good production value but I can't stand Eminem.

  • Did I say this already? Fan-f@#$*cking-tastic! ' Sposo sent me this link after I had a Fellini filled weekend - this was awesome - great job!

  • This is great :-)

  • Very nice editing and title work but Eminem and 8 1/2 should never be together. Especially in terms of 8 Mile which was a terrible remake of Flashdance. Watch those two movies and tell me they're not identical. Otherwise, well done.

  • totally agree re: 8 mile = flashdance... maybe someone should make that happen... 1 2 3 not it! as for eminem and fellini not belonging together, i disagree, because it is funny. if this were an attempt to make something "awesome" then i would agree with you, but it's meant to make you laugh, and it made me laugh, so mission accomplished!

  • I totally appreciated the concept but to me Fellini and Eminem are from two different worlds. I see the similarities but there were times when it felt less like a trailer and more like a music video. But I can't front, the title work on it is really slick.

  • who said i like this bitch ass feminem .. i posted a video of icp dissin this bullshit bitch face ....

i hope i find ur dead body across 8mile

  • That was very impressive, thankyou!

    I love the effects.

  • Great stuff!!! Try cutting up Salo with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang!!!

  • VERY well done

  • Nice job, Andy. Coincidentally, I watched 8.5 last week, and I gotta say (sacrilege!), I enjoyed your preview more than the film.

  • Realy great vid!!!!!

  • Im open to any kind of experimentation, but I dont see how Fellini and Emenem can relate, its like using Emenem music in a Fellini movie,I dont think it would work.

    But thanks for sharing anyway.

  • check out 8 mile, and you will find that it is not only well made (directed by curtis hanson, who made the amazing "LA Confidential") but it also shares a few interesting parallels with "8 1/2". The two have more in common than you would think at first glance; don't let your feelings towards rap music in general prevent you from seeing a pretty darn good film.

  • Wow, Excellently put. I've always thought that and it's great to hear someone else share the same view. Excellent work. Not only well cut but a very creative idea. Glad to know their are other Fellini lovers out there who also appreciate rap. Nicely, nicely cut.

  • thank you very much, and i agree; it is totally fine to appreciate both equally.

  • Cool, trailer. Everything fit. Keep up the good work AV Club.

  • I loved it. I really thought the trailer was great.

  • Wow i got scared for a moment there that not enough people had seen 8 1/2... the last few comments have revived my faith, thanks guys. i edited using final cut 5, titles in motion 2 and aftereffects 6.

  • Nice job. Maybe some of the people on YouTube will be inspired to watch the Fellini film, arguable one of the greatest masterpieces in world cinema.

  • Wow that was really good we should get togther and produce a film sometime let me know what your upto thanx for the email

  • Great job.I think you could even sell Fellini to high schoolers with zero attention span with that one LOL.

  • wow nice stuff!! i really like the trailer and its style...very professional and perfekt audio/video harmony :D which editing program did u use? keep it up!

  • cool, what editor did you used?

  • hahahaha, two thumbs up. The editing was really damn good.

  • I don't get it. I watched the whole thing. I just don't get it. A buch of old movie clips strung together with a lot of smokers... I just don't get the references or any alleged humor. I don't know much about old or foreign old films. Sorry if I disappointed you.

  • not bad....really!!!!

  • sick man! i loved it!

  • I have no idea what movie that even is.

  • great concept and execution. Right on.

  • that was good.

  • Very literal in the way of mash-ups, but that was your intent. I love it. It was fantastic.

  • nice. actually works as a trailer for 8½, i'll have to see it now.

  • hahah, thanks, and i could only wish to be so lucky :)

  • Nice! I think Fellini would spit on your shoes *laughs* Thanks for messaging me=)

  • That was incredibly fantastic. You should do some other ones - The Bicycle Thief... La Strada... Citizen Kane... possibilities are endless.

    Citizen Kane: Tha Remix

  • hey thanks to everyone who's watched, rated, commented, or favorited this video, we're really happy that people are liking it, we feared that the joke would be too obscure for most, but i think we massively underestimated the number of film dorks in the world :)

  • This is so cool. Marcello Mastroianni meets Marshall Mathers :)

  • Nicely done.

  • FUCKING BRILLIANT

  • I like! i love 8 1/2
