That's so horrible. They're CRYING and these people don't even think twice about killing them. I really don't understand...do they then go home to their families, their CHILDREN, and love them? After a day, week, month, full of KILLING? I honestly don't understand how these people can live normal lives after doing such things. Never trust what a sealer or a corrupt DFO official says, there are NO regulations, observers are banned and seal killers are not even given a slap on the hand for breaking the laws. Sealers are a small gang of thugs supported by corrupt govt ministers who need votes of their districts; this is basically a criminal operation. The reason the European parliament is banning this on April 1st, is they have 660 documented and filmed cases of cruelty including bashing whitecoats and skinning alive.

This is pocket money for thugs, it's OFF SEASON and their primary income is in various fisheries. This is actually less than one 10th of 1% of revenue for the East Coast. To add insult to injury, these thugs many of whom are hooked on alcohol or drugs, will collect welfare checks the rest of the year.

It's all in the way we perceive things. Tree-huggers also mow their lawns, but their eyes see the trees as larger and they don't realize that each individual 2cm blade of grass is bleeding as badly as the 30 metre red pine. The people who defend the seals are oblivious to the suffering of their own species, and even their own families. Anti-seal hunt freaks have their priorities out of whack.

If the sustenance industry suddenly started slaughtering hundreds of thousands of baby cows, pigs and chickens just for their fur, there would be just as much outrage as there is for the seal hunt you BS artist. Why, because neonatal cows pigs and chicken are just as cute as neonatal harp seal pups. It's just that you people of Newfoundland and Labrador have become so greedy that you willing point to entirely unrelated industry in an attempt to wash your own hands of self-loathing blood.

What makes a few thousand cute cuddly seals more worthy of our attention than the millions of cows, pigs and chickens slaughtered for commercial profit each year? The hakapik causes instant, irreversible unconsciousness 98% of the time - it's humane. If you saw images from a beef slaughterhouse you'd be just as disgusted - but cameras aren't allowed there. Only vegans have the moral authority to criticize the seal hunt; the rest of you are a bunch of meat-eating, leather-wearing hypocrites.

Differnce between chickens, cows and pigs are they are bread to be killed and eaten. As are fish and they are becoming endangered. Thats why the government is making it illegal so wspring2 and qwerty3008 they use the seals for fur which we do not need and most people dont wear. They kill them for the sport oif killing them!

protestors are going about it the wrong way... they target the canadian sealers for doing something which is a way of life, part of history. perhaps a more strategic method would to target the consumers, get people to stop purchasing seal product. Clearly if the quoto has been increased, then the demand for seal pelt has increased as well. it is a supply-demand thing, if no one wants the seal, then the hunt will end... duh. most protestors are just protesting for the sake of protesting...

this should not be allowed at all! but wspring2 and qwerty3008 make a point there are millions of farm animals die every year.but the farmers dont try to hide it they know wat their doing they no that their feeding ppl by doing it and its their job.these ppl do this as a SPORT a HOBBY a TRADITION they make lamp shades and hats and other stuff out of the skin but all of that stuff is expensive cos its leather so their selling it to rich ppl they dont help feed or keep ppl warm.they are MURDERERS!
