  • reverse molotovs

  • Its never "- Environment friendly" if its Chinese

  • @techfreaks89 Nothing to do with this video then.

  • @techfreaks89 Good job it is japanese then isn't it.

  • How does it work though?

  • it is safe to breath for humans?

  • I don't think the details of the extinguishing agent has been made public, but a quick Google search of "Fire 117" tells me there's a mix of Carbon Dioxide and Amonium Gas. Pretty interesting though. It'd be interesting to see if this could be developed into a more efficient way of putting out large fires. (It's currently not recommended for that level of use.)

  • It's what is IN it (Safe, non toxic, environmentally friendly) that is the invention, not the method for delivery.

  • Extinguisher… in the hole?

  • does anyone know what's actually in it?

  • They didn't invent this, people that lived in old times used stuff like that before water buckets, fire extinguishers and fire trucks

  • I'd guess halon, but that would violently explode and a plastic bottle probably couldn't hold the pressure. Same for liquid CO2, when the bottle burst the explosion would be just as dangerous.

  • whats the content? anyone?

  • @eskabarz90 I swear I heard something sounding like ammonia in there... but I have a three word japanese vocabulary, so... Can anyone translate?

  • This was just listed on another site as being "invented by Japan", and that couldn't be more wrong, throw-able fire extinguishing "grenades" have been around since the 1920's in the USA.

It's nothing new, and it definitely was NOT invented by Japan....

  • @NinjaRider777R And not by the US either.

  • @StarskySTARS Your source is where again?

Everything I've found says they came from the USA in 1870 and were used up until 1915.

Usually filled with Carbon-TetraChloride (highly toxic) and when heated creates Phosgene Gas, formerly used as a Chemical Weapon.

There's a large collector's market for the bottles.

  • @NinjaRider777R How is that the same as the ones in the video again?

  • @StarskySTARS Can you not read or something???

I said this video was DIRECTLY LINKED on another site with the caption "Japanese amazing invention for fire extinguishing." That means the person who re-linked this video watched this one first.

Fire Extinguishing Grenades date back to 1870 in the USA so they're NOT a Japanese Invention.

That's as bad as claiming that "Nintendo invented videogames in 1982" when it was really Ralph Baer in 1967.

  • @NinjaRider777R I think what they mean is that the japanese invented a "non toxic fire extinguishing grenade", an improvement on the highly toxic ex-chemical weapons you're talking about. Much how whoever invented the mobile phone didnt invent phones, but it still counts as being an invention.

  • @MrOdomonkey exactly. Very good comparison btw. I'd like to see one of them in every household.

  • @bogusswe Yes it is....

    dictionary.reference com/browse/grenade

Definition #2, a similar missile containing a chemical, as for dispersing tear gas or fire-extinguishing substances.

    It's a grenade.

  • What if it's a little oven fire or something?

  • it covers air with other gas...and doing that inside cantainer is ridiculous...they should experiment those inside rooms

  • @theonedir extremely toxic meaning that if the fire doesnt kill you the chemicals in that anti-fire grande will

  • @KorNTonic it's non toxic.

  • This was invented in the United States years ago. Its extremely toxic and cannot be used when people could be trapped in a fire.

  • @mikedero08 I thought so. I mean, everyone would be using it if it worked perfectly and had no problems.

  • @mikedero08 .... Extremly toxic so what i am fucking burning....... how the fuck cares if i need to speend a week or 2 in a hospital mate..

  • You, Japans can ruin every fun :(

  • BUT WILL IT BLEND?

  • can it stop a Volcano?

  • JARATE!

  • Damn! Japanese are excellent in inventions!

  • grenade out

  • Japan has one same product.

Ebisu Sciences Inc. is making, "Pronto scale" item is called.

If the company is more open here a long time.

The liquid ingredients, are made only from food additives have been approved in Japan, but more like a little human impact on other products.Ago, I heard on the salesman when I bought this product,to export products to Europe and other developed countries is often very time-consuming procedure. If you do not it can be mediated by a large trading company.

  • When ampoule is thrown at the fires the chemical will disperse over the burning area. At the same time, the extinguishing chemicals would generate ammonium gas. Water evaporation would cool down the temperature of combustibles (cooling effectiveness) while ammonium gas would create a fire retardation effect that restrains the burning chain reaction. At the same time, one of the main ingredients for SAT119 and carbon dioxide produced by heat would suffocate oxygen and restrain combustibles.

  • Potassium bicarbonate????

  • If it suffocates the fire its also going to suffocate people if its accidentally dropped or leaks.

  • 40mm fire extinguishing grenade anybody?

  • Its probably some kind of liquid shit that drains out the oxygen out of the air so the fire cant ''breath''

  • this "corporation" has no websites or any virtual existence it seems

  • @awwurdead2 google bonex

  • impresionante

  • Polish firebomb. You n00bs probably won't get it.

  • Well done to Japan from Hellas(Greece).I think that throw- able fire extinguishers would be very valuable to forest firefighters like me when I am up to the mountain and the water just finished.

  • is this a design from soviet russia ? cause do the exact oposite of a granade

  • @arketreyu Molotov Cocktail**

  • cant i trow this thing to some burning guy??

  • @cabs85 that will be funny to watch lol

  • A wild fire appears.

    Throw fire extinguisher

    its super effective.

  • "As simple as throwing"

Unless you're a female, senior citizen or generally BAD at throwing.

  • now if only they could invent something like that to clean up messes. =)

  • if only they had something to make lots of water dissipate...

  • Need to drop a bunch of these in Fukishima

  • ooooowwwwwaaaaahhhhhhhhh

  • boomer bile here

  • @KYLEZALA powerfull stuff!

  • This would be awesome in Timesplitters 3.

  • It's as simple as throwing!

  • ohhhhhhh ohhh ohhhhhhh

  • Just because it's non toxic doesn't mean it can't kill you. Too much of anything can kill you, and if it displaces the oxygen in the air it can definitely suffocate you.

  • It's like a anti Molotov cocktail

  • JARATE!!

    It puts out fires.

  • f*ckin smart

  • Fire extinguisher "grenades" have been around for a very long time. Look at the history section of the wikipedia page on fire extinguishers.

  • NIGGA STOLE MY IDEA FOR EXTINGUISHER!

  • japońce to są mega mózgi

  • Let them throw it into the reactor

  • THEY STOLE MY IDEA, I HAD BEEN THINKING ABOUT THAT SINCE I WAS A LITTLE KID GOD DAMN IT

  • is this method based on CO2?

  • Actually, it's not a bad idea. But why the number 117?... This has to be the 117 time I've seen the number. :p

  • @Dagg215

maybe it was the #117 prototype?

  • @Dagg215 Spartan 117

  • @SPU7N1K Speaking of which, I was one of the last people to play Halo 2 online. :l

  • kto z mistrzow ?

  • @wocbzawijamthc nikt :D nie ma zbierania łapek :D

  • @wocbzawijamthc

    spierdalaj gimbusie

  • napiję się go,skoro gasi . . . . .

  • HEHE TSUNAMI

  • Bloody brilliant.

  • Probably uses CO2 which would replace the oxygen and smother the fire.

  • That thing is awesome. It's like a grenade, only it kills fire.

Come on humanity, I want a love grenade next.

  • Probably contains halon, a substance that is EXTREMELY bad for the ozone layer and eliminates all oxygen in an area.

  • great invention

  • FI- I mean, WATER IN THE HOLE!

  • So when we drop large versions of these on wild fires, we'll have a bigger problem: The damn glass!

  • So, why dont we see firefighters using this?

  • @DarkViperus Because you don't live in the Future like the japanese

  • japan, japan, japan...

  • Clearly, this can only be the work of magic.k Though I must admit it does look very amazing.

  • @DTMRM8

The saucepan was a diluted version of the agent in the bottle. You can Google SAT119 to find out more about it. It seems to work by a combination of smothering and cooling.

  • Thats amazing!

  • I wasn't trolling. I am a fire fighter and a two and a half gallon water can (a water filled fire extinguisher) is more than enough water to put out a room fire bigger than the one in the video. Water expands 1600-2600 times when turning to steam and suffocates the fire. the phase transition to steam also robs the fire of much of the heat needed to continue burning. those factors combine to extinguish a large fire with a small amount of water.

  • @DTMRM8

If Water could do that, Housefires all over the World could be extinguished within seconds. But they don't.

It looks to me more like some chemical, that turns oxygen into something else. That would also explain, why the fire extinguishes first at the back of the container.

  • @Rodnox there is a point at which the fire is simply too hot for the water can to work. If you catch it early enough you can do it. Also, it is impossible to change elements into other elements.

  • @DTMRM8

Ahhh, you're not exactly right here. You CAN Change elements. Or at least, you can add another one and so create a third. In this case I think they have used solid Carbon, ground it up and blend it into some liquid. When released, the Carbon atoms take two oxygen atoms and create carbon dioxide. 2 Results: first, the fire dies from lack of oxygen and any living object inside would die as well. So the methode shown in the video works on empty rooms .... not on house fires.
