And also before youtube allows the video to be HQ or HD i think it has to be on for a few hours as most my videos when they're on they dont say anything then an hour later says 'Watch this in High Quality' or w.e it is

I've got both a VIsta and XP laptop and this works for me on both laptops doing the procedure above, although the save type options are different for the vista/xp i beleive.
