Thank you for the clarification. I haven't noticed this myself so it might not be much but I stand corrected; perhaps even a different knot is in order for potentially dangerous applications.

Not to be overly anal here but the knot will not "fuse" with repeated loading it will actually come loose. This may be of no concern in this application but in one where your life is depending on it you would want a long tail and check it every time.
