  • Remember watching this on TV as a teeneger. Saw the skids supporting the Stranglers back in the 70's. Fantastic band live. The guitar Richard Jobson is playing is a Yamaha Superflighter SF700. There's a Youtube vid of the band playing Masquerade on ToTP with Stuart playing the same guitar. Don't ever remember seeing him play it live though.

  • I loved this. It didn't sound like anything I'd heard before. I loved the pace of it...the way it slowed and started up again...OOOOF!

  • Superb song, superb band. Bands will never be this good again. This is when music was done well. In the afterlife (if there is one) i wanna punch Stuart Adamson for taking his own life, i am sure he will understand! ;)

  • Rich is playing rhythm. Watch Stuart's sol.......there is a rhythm guitar playing, a wrong note, and Rich looks up to see did anyone notice. I have Stuart's autograph after speaking with him in the mid 80s. A gentleman. Skids still are my favorite ever band...and I'm in my 40s !!!

  • Hey there Germo, can you make out what Jobbie is playing ? Is it a Gibson?

  • I'd guess at a Yamaha. Definatley not a Gibson SG.

Big question though, was it plugged in ?

  • Yes I thought that the first 50 times I watched it. I thought he was actually playing lead after Stuarts intro ( the bit that reminds me of Sousxie and the banshees) and then Stuart plays the simple 4 note part in the background and breaks in for the chorus. Its hard to see from the video mind, cheers mate
