  • Cool video on music of master Tomita :-)

  • Fantastic work*****

  • Those who dislike have no appreciation of electronica

  • super track!!

  • If I recall, back in the day Tomita once said that he was most interested in the music of the sound. That concept has stuck with me to this day.

  • I have most of Tomita's albums, but "The Bermuda Triangle" is by far my favorite. It is available on CD but it is an import with different cover art than on the vinyl record.

  • tangerine dream and tomita are too oooo different-drums and guitars for one! ) both amazing!

  • Can't go wrong with Tomita...an influence to many! Glad to find this posted!

  • youtube.com/watch?v=9KEsnJDP5XI -> [Clip]Sống Bên Khoảng Lặng - KARIK

  • This has instantly made me more relaxed. I feel like i am dreaming, Soo Good

  • Is it just me, or is the intro theme from Close Encounters of the Third Kind? I just started listening to this kind of music and I am very unfamiliar with it. Did Tomita write cinematic pieces?

  • Fabulous.

  • Thanks Trichoone for playing The BErmuda Triangle......Brings me trippy memories from the 80's

  • it's "Dororo" from bermuda triangle. Genial!!

  • Love Tomita I have:

    Snowflakes are Dancing

    Pictures at an Exhibition

    Firebird

    Kosmos

    The Planets

    Bolero

    The Grand Canyon

    Bach Fantasy

  • the very beggining sounds like close encounters of the third kind...

  • Isao Tomita is an excellent composer and master, great! unforgettable eh, so thanks for the memories alive today.

  • Thanks for posting this Isao Tomita truly is a legend i had this double vinyl many moons ago but since was lost but now found for downloading and thanks to your video for reminding me what a great master he was indeed ;)

  • Man, that vinyl must have been incredible.

  • I have this on pink vinyl. Wore out the cassette tape.

Amazing album, one of a kind music.

  • Magnífica adaptación visual de esta gran pieza creada por Tomita

Magnificent visual adaptation of this great musical piece created by Tomita

  • i have a few Tomita records, i was going to put them on car boot sale.. but i may hold on now there is an interest. I still love the music, just dont have a record player..

  • I first heard him in the 70's,thought he was unbelivable then ,he's better now.

Have a couple of his albums on Vinyl.

  • Vinyl ? That's a collector's item, & someday CD's will be.

Maybe holographic imagery & music..... ??

  • Cheers,knoxvilleguy2,I used to play him on radio, freaked people out, haha.

Will never sell the vinyl, will pass it on to others to enjoy.

  • For the love of God, don't give up the vinyl.....!!

I wish I knew where my vinyl & VHS players got to.

    This is classic ! ( Neo - classic ? )

  • I ain't getting any younger, but when I depart this mortal coil, fall of the perch, take the deep six..I'll make sure that ALL my music library goes to some one who will enjoy it.

  • Maybe donate it to a museum, or perhaps a time capsule ? I have to wonder what will supplant CD's, DVD's, iPods & other storage media for music & videos in the next 30 - plus years.

The gramaphone, the early wax discs, reel - to - reel & 8 - track tapes, tape cassettes, DVD's. The progression is amazing & maybe a wee bit daunting.

  • have 2 vinyls too, Bermuda triangel,and Planets :D

  • I have seen several videos combining computer graphics & electronic music while on YouTube & other sites.

There are some who say this isn't art or music.

For the most part, THEY'RE WRONG !! Tomita is an example to prove them wrong.

  • "There are some who say this isn't art or music."

Bunch of elitists! That's what they are!

  • Of course they're elitists, snobs, purists, they have a major anal blockage. ;-)

I love Tomita's music. Especially the " Planets " pieces.

  • A 52 "track" synthesizer? You lost me.

  • Yeah, no such thing

  • Back in the 80's when I first listened to Tomita, He used a 52 track synthesizer that was pretty much before computers were common place.

  • Cool visuals. Tomita'll be grad.

  • Genial de la puta madre que efectos!!!

  • Where are these visuals from?

  • hypnotic

  • I'm an absolute synth expert and into such old modulars and I have to tell, what he has done is unparalelled, not mentioning the music which is always superb, incredibly well-played, romantic and nostalgic from the ancient times, grandioso, progressive. Tomita is one of the greatest ever in every aspect: as a synthesisit, as a player and as a pioneer also. Thanks.

  • Awesome! 5/5***** =)

  • also really cool video:)

  • I heard Tomita's work while at the Chicago Planetarium back in the 1970's. I immediately bought his album Holst: The Planets and have listened to his music ever since.

  • hi from london

  • hi from warsaw :)

  • Great effects and interesing composition

  • thankyou my friend .

  • Tomita rules the synth world!

Thanks to him I learned to appreciate symphonic music, I am indebted to him wherever he is.

  • Is this music from Tomita'a album...The Bermuda Triangle...strangely it is the only one of his albums/discs I have not got.

  • yes that is correct Sir .

  • Tomita is brilliant!

  • well i'll second that .

  • Yeah! I'm not the only Tomita's music lover!! iI was beggining to worry. Blessing to all from México.

  • thankyou .

  • I have been enjoying Tomita since I was very young. I love the call and echo of the whistles and robot. After the Fur Elise whistle, the robot starts laughing. Great stuff.

  • thanks glad you like it too.

  • i met Mr. Isao Tomita. he is an amazing composer and a great guy. he told me that next time we meet, he'll give me a copy of all his work. not many people that would do that for you. i hope he remembers me next time we meet.

  • I am sure he will.

  • I hope so!

What amazing feeling to meet Isao Tomita. I love his entire work

  • tomita was the first and still the greatest musical influence in my live and he will always be... he made me want to compose my own music! i love his music so much!

  • Ha, love Tomita! Snowflakes are Dancing was probably the first electronic album i got exposed to as a kid.

  • Tomita is absolutely brilliant and always has been.

  • tangerine dream has more flow

  • both brilliant in their own right .

  • I find that strange - comparing those two. One is a brilliant arranger and sound designer who mostly did renderings of existing classical music using a lot of dynamics and sound colours within each piece. The other is a chain smoking gang of sequencer driven germans who put out a LOT of improvised loooong records, where about 10% were brilliant and the rest repetitive rubbish. If anyone had "more flow" I´d say that was Tomita. A lot of Tangerine Dreams music was just...ok.

  • I have to agree.. love Tangerine Dream, but you're right.

  • also agree. I like TD but comparing flow, you are wrong

  • Personally I like, Tomita, Tangerine Dream AND Jean Michelle Jarre equally... all for difdferent reasons..!!! ;)

  • Finally found a copy of Bermuda Triangle on CD but was sad not to have the old RCA U.S. art work, so I had a friend do some very good digital copy work and I now have the original cover art. I sware that his technique wa so crazy that the sound moves front to back.

  • Has anyone attemped to arrange the suggested arangement of speakers that was described in the jacket cover of the original Bermuda Triangle album. In the shape of a pyramid.

Incrediable Sound. I remember buying that album when it first came out. Orange Vinyl.

  • Eno did something like that on, I think it was Music for Airports. Haven't tried it though.

  • Tomita is a genius.I love his Debussy versions

  • Thank you so much for this posting. Good to see & hear :) can i just mention that i have been a fan of tomita (and other japanese music -> yellow magic orchestra) for 29yrs+. The computer programmer for yellow magic orchestra (Hideki Matsutake of 'Logic System') used to work along side isao tomita. Keep up the nice work, Regards

    ymo1965

  • thanks for your comment ymo , this is were you tube comes into its own sharing good music and learning , thanks for introducing YMO as in my ignorance i hadn,t heard before they sound more into the dance anthem style as indeed Tomita also did later .

  • One of Tomitas great conducting moments.

Beautiful music.I still have the japan release of the "Bermuda Triangle".

Great, that you visualized this interesting sound.

  • I enjoyed Spacewalk, one of Tomita's compilations. I thought it was masterfully arranged. My first Tomita album was Grand Canyon Suite when I was a kid. Does anyone know if there is any video footage of any of Tomita's concerts? I know he conducted at the Hollywood Bowl many moons ago, but other than that ?? BTW, thanks for this awesome video!

  • I wish they'd reissue Tomita's entire discography on CD! Especially "The Bermuda Triangle". That album is a masterpiece. Tomita's style is a huge influence in my own modest electronic work. There is a video on my channel called "Nebulous Journey" that I made and scored with some of my own electronic music. Give it a look when you get the chance. --Baron

  • i will do that and i agree with your first statement also .

  • Oh thanks a lot. Next to The Unanswered Question this is my favourite bit of Tomita's work. Oh and then there's The sea Named Solaris and the entire Bermuda Triangle album and.....well all his stuff really:-)

  • Thanks for your comment - just checked out your channel seems you are a big Dr Who fan and some good stuff there , i an impressed with your graphic and sound work would,nt mind a few tips from you and your user name takes me back a few years -trichoone .

  • Hi there. I'm a mere dabbler in these things, but if I can be of any help, I'm glad to. I'm also glad that dear old battleaxe Peggy Mount isn't forgotten by the entire world. She appeared once in Dr Who you know. But then who didn't?

  • Many years ago there was a programme on the Tele about how children cope in Northern Ireland and I heard this wonderful music. It was Tomita's Clair De Lune from Snowflakes are Dancing and I have been hooked on TOMITA ever since.

  • Right up there with Jean Michel Jarre

  • genial

  • todo lo que hace tomita es excelente. gracias por colocar este video aqui

  • you are welcome , glad you like it (De nada contento usted lo quiere )

  • Thanks a lot for posting Trichoone. Agree with 5Micky2. I thank a friend who studied at Berklee, who introduced me to TOMITA.

  • u R Welcome

  • I first got hooked on Tomita due to fact it was some of the background music to the PBS/Carl Sagan series Cosmos [sea called solaris]. That series also got me hooked on Vangelis.

  • absolute genius!!

  • Tomita is one of the pioneers of electronic music. Some of his recordings are unreal, considering alot of them were from the 70's. I've been a huge fan since I was 12 or so. I know who he is, hes a genious.

  • Tomita is a genius but hardly anyone's heard of him. That is a shame.

  • thanks for your comment and you are right i dont think he is known well enough because in this field of music he is up there with the very best - trichoone .

  • Look up "Twilight Samurai" on wikipedia.

  • grande tomita!!

  • This is very strange - I like it :)
