I think the V6's with flowmasters on them sound good during idle, but there is just something about that V6/flowmaster sound when revving that makes me cringe. I was just curious how they sounded, been looking at a Ram V6 and it is a must that I make my truck sound good. Thanks for the post, it was more informing than you think.
Just a question, do you know how this would sound if it was dumped right after the muffler? (turndown that ends right before the rear axle).
Im trying to decide if i should get a 40 or a 50 series. Im looking for that deep muffled sound that is louder than my modded stock muffler (it's too high pitched right now).
I went and listened to both interior videos of the 40 and 50, and from what i can tell, the 50 is quieter and smoother sounding...where as the 40 sounds louder but also rougher and aggressive. this sound right?
i'm completely serious about the 40 series sounding crappy. at startup idle, sounds awesome. get revving over 3000 it sounds like a honda civic. at full throttle in DRIVE, sounds god. fucking. awful. take my advice and don't get the 40 series.
Hey sorry to ask one more question, there are several 50 series (HD, Delta Flow, SUV Performance, Big Block) just wanted to check and see what you got.
I know youve said you got the truck and SUV one but i wasnt sure if that was the HD (trucksmainly) or the SUV (suvs and some trucks).
long live red v6 rams with black bumpers! i have one myself except its the 08 model, stock version...got it thru the cash for clunkers program by trading in my 1988 ram...i needed a full size that gets good gas milage and could get me thru college...v6 is the way to go for that
wanna buy mine? i hate this thing. no matter what you do, it will never EVER leave the vicinity of "slow"...won't even get to 'normal'...permanently "slow". with the gearing and crap on my truck, my truck shines from about 0-35...then it's just a dog as usual.
@derricksmash Hi, I would disagree. I have a 95 Dodge Dakota Sport with the V6/5speed manual tranny. Have added headers, msd ignition system, egk plugs, Holley branded Throttle Body style carb, and this thing would hang with the R./T dakotas,. Its a blast to drive, kids love the (Slam the head back/cant move for the first 5 seconds..)..lol. has 180,000 miles on it, and still runs like a champ, Oh, and coverted to Push Start button(before Dodge started it) by using a button to altenator.

again, don't talk shit in car vids if you 1) don't have a car, and 2) don't have videos to prove you have a car.
you're probably young...registering february of this year and all...and learn to establish credibility before u talk shit.
and talking shit on the internet if just an insecurity of how much you are probably shy and don't talk shit in real life in my opinion (i said IN MY OPINION)...so, if you really are a bad-ass in real life, i truly apologize you badass mother fucker.
I guess I could put a vid on here if it will make you feel better. I've got the regular cab hemi, but that's nothing incredible, so I see no need to put one up. Anyways, your car sounds like a weed eater.
I'm going with true dual Heddmann Headers to Magnaflow high-flow cats, then just 16" glass packs. I like the old-school sound of a 6-cyl Dodge that has glasspacks.
it's just a flowmaster 40 series in place on the stock muffler. nothing was touched between the headers and muffler. and they made new pipes obviously to go out the back.
yeah i am tryin to get some exhaust for my truck... but they say stainless steel is the way to go... is that the fact... (i wrecked up my dodge this mornin) ... fuckin sucked...
anyways, u asked a question on last vid too. there's no need for stainless really. where do u live? does it snow alot? if you live like in texas or california or some place where cars seem to never rust, there's no need spending nearly $1000 more on a stainless steel exhaust. but, if you're up here w/ me in chicago where winter consist of driving through salt for 5 months, then stainless would be a good investment.
$70 of that was the cost of the slash-cut exhaust tips i have on there. you could expect to spend aroun $200 for a flowmaster in place of existing muffler, and custom bent pipes to go out the back, or flare out from corners.
If u get the v8 get the hemi over the 4.7l its got more power plus the mileage is just as good

this exhaust is actually my 40 series. it sounds cool at idle, but under throttle and full weight (not in park/neutral) it sounds like ass dude...
i have since this video, switched to a 50 series truck/suv...and have gotten headers. headers have made all the difference in the world.
i have vids of the 50 series on here too...somewhere. find 'em =)

40 series = shit
50 series + headers = awesome

Thanks man. I'll definitly consider the 50 over the 40 series. Whatever I end up doin I'll be sure to make a video of it. Thanks for your input. =)
